Obviously, if you have better equipment, then use that, but I prefer using iPhones because they're lightweight and always on you. I just use the normal camera on my 6s and edit everything in FCP X, and I think the quality comes out pretty well.

I'd probably pack an external battery too, but you don't really need anything honestly. Smartphones are that good now. It's really more about technique than gear when shooting with a smartphone.

It's pretty amazing what you can do now. The iPhone XS Max is incredible but any phone can produce beautiful power content. Just learn the limitations and work around them.
The camera doesn't matter as much as many think. Note, that's not me saying it doesn't matter at all. It matters more in terms of work flow. However many great videos you see are a result of framing, stabilization, creative post editing and use of features (high frame rate/slow motion, time-lapse, music, the right cuts, b-roll, etc.), focused storytelling or thoughtful direction and of course lighting whether controlled or carefully selected natural light locations to get the mood/tone you want. The iPhone camera is great for what it is. But what's even greater is the effort put behind a great video as the camera is only a piece of the creative process.

I actually watched this on a desktop computer many times and there's only the 720p option.
thats because he used slow motion for the video. For slow motion mode in iphone 6s, you can only choose 1080p at 120fps or 720p at 240 fps.

What I found to be quite nice is that the new iPhones shoot 60fps on 1080p to 4K so I just slow it down 1/2x on iMovie (iOS) and it’s awesome.
