Love this video and I will put the steps into practice! I am going to summarize for all those watching: Step 1: (1:45) Use a Manual Camera App (FiLMiC Pro) ----Steps 2-5 are all about settings in FiLMiC Pro Step 2: (2:30) Change Your Bit Rate (Resolution: 100MBPS) Step 3: (3:01) Change the Frame Rate (24 FFS) Step 4: (3:25) Change the Audio Format (AAC, 44.1kHz) Step 5: (3:43) Undo the Auto Settings (drag and tap icons...) Step 6: (4:41) Use a Stabilizer Step 7: (5:37) Use Multiple Focal Lengths (iPhone 7 Plus, or buy third party lens) Step 8: (6:29) Post Production (color correction, sound, aspect ratios...)
So do you prefer using the ronin now to the glidecam? I remember you posting a pic of you using the ronin, and now seeing it again a couple months later, I wonder if you have changed your opinion of using a glidecam vs ronin?
Smoogle s. Depends on how serious you are. Because although the iPhone camera is great, there are things that only a proper camera can achieve/do better
Watching this now in 2023. It’s impressive how video quality on iPhone cameras was great even on older models. I still use a 6S sometimes to record alternative camera positions on some of my personal videos.
Thank you for this value packed video (especially your explanations of why certain steps are necessary), I learned more in these few minutes than fumbling around myself for months!
Hey just about to start RUclips and I’m gonna use my I phone 7 + this video was really helpful , in my understanding of my phone and how much I can utilize my phone camera
My man! Thank you so much! I’m preparing for a three week hike in the Himalayas and looking to document everything using an iPhone for pics and video. Your tips are defiantly going to help.
Thank you for creating this amazing, no fluff, informational video. I enjoyed the information, and the professionalism of Parker, and I plan to watch his channel and purchase his products.
Vibrant Films pro easily Glidecam, just be sure you know how to use it. Electronic is tbh pretty bad.... Then again Glidecams are too if you don't know how to use them
For small and light cameras a gimbal is awesome, but it can get really expensive. A glidecam is cheaper and better for heavier and bigger rigs and it's just mechanical, absolutely reliable. The gimbal on the other hand is more flexible and always keeps horizon. So it depends :D
Beautifully and so clearly explained. So appreciate all the detailed steps, everything we need. Thanks so much for posting, Parker. Beautiful work and great video.
This is dope!! I left my Canon camera battery charger at home and was about to panic. Funny think I have a iphone 7 plus and had already bought the FILMIC Pro app and didn't think anything off it. This is a great alternative!!
In filmic pro you can film in different aspect ratios. On super wide screen aspect ratios it will have black bars on the top and bottom. You also have the option of changing aspect ratio in post production.
Thank you! I'm new to this but was able to follow and understand. Can't wait to put it into practice with some recent New York footage I just recorded.
Seems to me the "focus while moving" Issue is the trickiest on the iphone. How do you deal with that on the moving shots? Fantastic tutorial / video by the way.
Just discovered your channel and subscribed, great stuff! I got the iphone7+ a few months ago to use as a second camera but haven't gotten around to getting a small tripod or stabilizer, this got me wanting to practice with my iPhone for my next project!
5:37 - actually, it is kind of confusing what you said. Just that to get rid off these bumblings/jitter effect's you should keep on your iOS stabilizer with gimbal. I saw some tests.
Amazing video! I mean honestly amazing. I look up how-to videos (on various topics) all the time, and most are garbage. You were so clear. And able to do so in a short amount of time! I hate trying to find one small thing, and the person is unprepared and rambling for 20 minutes. Your presentation just blew me away really. AND got me so hyped for my own work. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! *subbed*

What software do you use for color correction ?
Daryl Nuiz premiere pro final cut any
Is this applicable as well for iPhone X? thanks a lot. love our work
Thank youuuu
I'm thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail beginning in March and decided to vlog with my iPhone 7plus using Film Pro. This video was very insightful.
Enjoy the AT! I'm going to be using my phone as well for the CDT soon.

That music is so great. This many years later it holds up, and is very nostalgic.
The music and the location gives me a feeling of lord of the rings..
The song is in lord of the rings
@@shivipivi 👍🏻
Sameeeeee
Thanks Parker, throwing my 5D mark III in the garbage now... ;)
So do you prefer using the ronin now to the glidecam? I remember you posting a pic of you using the ronin, and now seeing it again a couple months later, I wonder if you have changed your opinion of using a glidecam vs ronin?
Stoked for Saturday 0:48 Wait, is that 16:9? I thought it will be full 2.39:1. Btw 5D Mk III is xpensive lol.
quick question is there a point in getting the DJI OSMO + against the DJI OSMO MOBILE if you can get such solid results with the iphone 7plus?
Smoogle s. Depends on how serious you are. Because although the iPhone camera is great, there are things that only a proper camera can achieve/do better
You can send that to me! I am serious! :)
Watching this now in 2023. It’s impressive how video quality on iPhone cameras was great even on older models.

Make a video on how to make a budget camera stabilizer for iPhone 7!
I am retired and needed a hobby, you helped me to do something that keeps me living. Thanks
Incredible what can be created using just an iphone. Very impressed with the quality of what you shot.
"I don't have money, let me see how to make my iPhone look good!" STEP 2 BUY 300 DOLLAR STABILIZER
I know I’m 3. Years late but if you’re still in need of it you can go to wish. It’s 24 dollars
use a supermarket bag as a stabilizer
@@yoygrasia how do you do that??
Parker: "I like the dji osmo"
Me: "Ok"
Parker: "Its about 300 dollars"
Me: "BLAAUGHOGJ;MFRK"
I just picked up the smooth q for 100!
osmo mobile two is 130$ and it's still one of the best
lmao same.
02:41 It's megabits, not megabytes. The b is small, that's what indicates a smaller amount (which is bits).
Thank you for this value packed video (especially your explanations of why certain steps are necessary), I learned more in these few minutes than fumbling around myself for months!
Fantastic. This was exactly the information I needed to begin more adventurous video making. Thank you, Parker!
Thank you for sharing this video. Very detailed and finally something else then the standart tutorials... this thought me lots.. thank you
Awesome video. Thanks for the tips!
Note: Mbps is different from MBps. Megabit versus megabyte
Cool bro... thats really cool
Hey just about to start RUclips and I’m gonna use my I phone 7 + this video was really helpful , in my understanding of my phone and how much I can utilize my phone camera
if the b is lowercase in Mb, Gb etc then it stands for 'bits'. divide the bits by 8 to get the number of bytes.
Currently saving money to buy your program full time filmmaker
Thank you'd so much for dedicating your time to helping fellow filmmakers
This is the best vid I have ever seen on shooting vid off of a phone. Thank you
This is a great video thanks for sharing your tips I'm new to Filmic Pro have you made any other videos with the updated app cheers Vinnie
Please, tell us more about the lenses, It's will be interesting to see how are they work and how does it look's like
Great video as i have just started shooting on my iphone 7+
My man! Thank you so much! I’m preparing for a three week hike in the Himalayas and looking to document everything using an iPhone for pics and video. Your tips are defiantly going to help.
Great job buddy. So helps people trying to learn better ways of shooting on iPhone.
Hi parker can you also make some cinematic videos using go pro? Would love to see it..
I gonna give you five stars, cuz you expanded all information for it... Thank u my bro!
“Just” the iPhone 7+
This was helpful. I think just that app alone will help me
Thank you for creating this amazing, no fluff, informational video. I enjoyed the information, and the professionalism of Parker, and I plan to watch his channel and purchase his products.
Cool vid ... upcoming trip plan is to shoot all video on the iPhone. At first was to shed weight but the stabilizer messed that up.
I really appreciate Parker’s information. I felt so much thankful.
Great video! Thanks for the simplicity using Filmic Pro.
thanks Parker ....I really like your fact filled and straight to the point style....I will definitley
follow you regularly.
Nice...👍👍👍👍👍
Great video! Could you please enable the subtitles, as I'd like to share this video with my friend with a hearing loss. Many thanks.
Love the LOTR soundtrack with your short film! One of the best soundtracks out there, imo.
Awesome content love the channel!
Thank you Parker for a great insight to iPhone video. I look forward to more of your tutorials.
This guy is a legend!!
Very well done dude, professional, kept it short, clear and on point!
Background music is really awesome ❤❤❤❤

Thanks Parker, very cool tutorial of the Filmic Pro. Never even heard of it !
Great, it looked like a commercial 👍
Already love to trip/fall 👍🏼😊
I'm starting a youtube channel and will be using my iPhone 7 plus in the beginning at least! Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot.
So cool cinematography
Badass video man. Looks great.
Thank you, i m going to start film making with my iphone 6
is it better or not ?
Useful advice, thanks. Well, can not we do all of this with the iPhone 6S Plus?
Nice video bro‼️ And absolutely stunning shots with the iPhone 7+...
10 seconds through that clip and I'm like, "Why do I feel like I'm watching LOTR??" haha
What would you say is better!! Electric stabiliser or glidecam? I know you have used both fir a while
Vibrant Films pro easily Glidecam, just be sure you know how to use it.
Maxx McGee - ImpactStudios Wait was he talking about gimbals or software stabilization?
Woodepic Media "Electric", I assume he means a motorized gimbal.
Ohh okay. In that case, glidecams are more robust, simple, cheap and responsive, but gimbals are good for controlled enviornments
Thank you for sharing this. I will try it.
I got a dji osmo mobile for my bday and I'm really looking forward ro making awesome videos 😊
Beautifully and so clearly explained. So appreciate all the detailed steps, everything we need. Thanks so much for posting, Parker. Beautiful work and great video.
I like the music on your video 👍🏼
Really good content man👍🏽

Super cool tutorial!! Thanks a lot!!!
This is gold. Thank you for your expert insight.
Awesome video! Thank you for posting!
Thanks for sharing his great info Parker! 👊🏽😃
Bro. Amazing video! Thank you.
Note that MBps and Mbps are not same. Mbps is mega 'bit' per second. it is 1/8 of byte.
I don't have that phone but i have a cheap dslr so thus still helped me a lot!! Thanks
Please make video comparison between iphone x and red weapon
Learning so much from your videos. Thank you.
Thank you!! I NEED this. I have the osmo mobile but have still been frustrated with my videos. Much appreciated brother!
Just stumbled across this because I was thinking about doing this as a hobby. Awesome video. Subbed.
do you remember how much data the test footage ate off your phone? what are some recommendations for saving footage on a short film?
You're so cool. I need individual lessons because this is so hard to process lol.
Wow these tips are AMAZING!
Thanks for all the tips!
Maaan! You are amazing 🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What about the Zoom lens in filmic pro? You mention the the wide and the Tele only.
Thanks for sharing, I will certainly implement some of the suggestions...
AMAZING VIDEO!!!! I just love your channel !!!
Thanks for shooting the video without external lens.
Can someone please tell me, how to add those black bars on the top and bottom without a computer. Straight from my iPhone. Much appreciated
Guy Costello I need to know the same
Guy Costello You can't straight form your phone.
you get those bars depending on your aspect ratio. if you want to look up how to do it for a phone you can
Guy Costello it's in filmic pro
In filmic pro you can film in different aspect ratios. On super wide screen aspect ratios it will have black bars on the top and bottom.
You also have the option of changing aspect ratio in post production.
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing .
great work brother. cheers
LG V20 has all manual control on native camera app

Great video! What happened to your tried and true Glidecam?
Nice video!
Can you do this with de regular iPhone7 aswell?
Seems to me the "focus while moving" Issue is the trickiest on the iphone. How do you deal with that on the moving shots? Fantastic tutorial / video by the way.
Subscribed because you are a good mentor! Keep it up man!
Thanks Parker! That was crazy useful!
