How about what are you “go to” cinematic camera moves. Or I’ve always wanted to know how you planned for and put together the shots you did on your iPhone X road
Hi guys, I just ordered all the lenses for my s8+ and I am so excited! We will primarily be using them on creating our vlog channel on youtube. I will make an unboxing once i get them in.
Moment tele lens video bokeh... I heard it was boss oooh yeah and the moment wide angle vs the beast grip wide angle... Y'all are like the only two making good lenses
1. For "normal" shots: 4k, 24fps. 2. Aspec Ratio: 16:9 (Change it in Post) 3. FiLMiC Extreme/Bitrate as high as you can! 4. Lock Whitebalance 5. LOG: Flat (for best results when editing in post) 6. For Slow-Mo shots: 1080p, 120fps. 7. When Slow-Mo: a.) Lots of Action! b.) Good Lighting
@@LeQuangTu Real film has always been shot at 24p. It gives better motion blur and less "video" look, generally speaking. Ideally, you also want a shutter speed of 1/50 (1/48 more perfect, 24x2=48), but a lot of phones these days still don't have the true capability to adjust shutter speed. There's no real auto-fix. You just gotta put in the work/practice and do the research and understand the "why" and "how". But some of the capabilities of this app would certainly help in taking more of a manual control.
Hi AdventureGamingHQ, how do you like your case and lens? are you by any chance using a lavalier mic also? I just posted a comment above yours, that is my plan but i'm new to all this tech stuff. I still own an iphone5 :(
Great and informative video guys! I can't wait to get my hands on some Moment lenses one day. One thing ya'll forgot to mention though which is really important, is shutter speed settings! For the most "cinematic" shooting, 24fps will need to be combined with a 1/48 shutter speed (i.e. the 180-degree rule). But in bright daylight this would waayyyyyyy over expose your footage. There's no way to overcome this on a phone unless you're either A) using an ND filter or B) cranking your shutter speed up extremely high to lower that exposure again, which can often make your footage look a bit more choppy.
That means a lot! Thanks for enjoying the video. We definitely will do more tutorial and video guides in the near future :) Let us know if there is anything specific you want to see!
I absolutely love you guys excitement in what you do. It is contagious and it encourages me to learn and to grow in this craft. I can’t wait to learn more from you all.
Moment should definitely make their own ND multi stop filters for their lens! I'd buy! Would really take the iPhone/Smartphone videography game to a whole new level. You guys are the standard when it comes to mobile filmmaking.
Tiffany Onwudinanti In the meantime, I ordered a Sensei step up ring from amazon, 37-52mm and screwed on my tiffen filters. (Secret trick - ordering a black pro mist filter to add softness to the phones video)
Thank you so so much for this! You guys kept it so simple! I’m trying to go out on a limb and start film making. It’s something I’ve always believed I have a natural talent for but have zero technical skills. Most of it sounds like Chinese. I’ve been watching other tutorials that claim to be for “beginners” but they talk so fast with all these unfamiliar terms as if they’re having a conversation with another professional, it’s really annoying. You guys broke it down and explained what works and why so thank you!
You guys are definitely fun, and I really appreciate that you spend as much time showing us these epic videos with tips and tricks as you do promoting your products. Speaking of which, still waiting for my iPhone X Moment Case and New Wide Angel lens... should be shipping this week based off my pre-order, yes? Looking forward to it!

Sawwweeett!!!! I have a Pixel 2 and that is what I'm starting my filmmaking adventure on. It's really nice to see you guys using the Pixel 2 instead of an iphone (no offense to iphones. There are just a lot of tutorials for iphones). Thanks!
Hey guys, thank you very much for the tips of the video. I also use that same application and watching the video helps me a lot. Thank you Caleb and Niles 😉
Hey guys, thank you so much for this video! You have ironed out some major frustrations for me... locking WB 🔥 Are you planning on a tip video about gimbal controls within Filmic? Do you bother using the zoom button on your osmo while shooting with phones?
Thanks guys for the great products! I have a Pixel 2 XL and ordered the case, tele lens and superfish. All work extremely well! I even got the 100mg counterweight for the Osmo. Just wish DJI would update the app so that it will work with Android 8.1 so I can use it. DJI should learn from you guys about customer service. Keep up the great work!
Speaking of slo-mo I always wondered how regular and slo-mo footage is combined if they are shot at different fps. For example, you shot in 24fps at 4K but the slo-mo switched to 120fps 1080p. I don't have video editing software at the moment so I don't know if it requires special (read: expensive) software to combine footage shot at different fps and bitrates.
If you plan your shoots properly you can deal with this in your software. 4k can be scaled down to 1080p and vice versa. You decide what your final video output will be (e.g. 24fps) and create a timeline with those settings. You then conform your 120fps footage to the 24fps timeline either by slowing it down, or interpreting the footage (easily done in Premiere Pro). Then boom!
Yo, y'all are my new favorite cellphone accessory company. I can't wait til I get a chance to visit Canada to maybe check you guys out. Keep it cine guys.
@ there's a rule: shutter speed should always be around double your frame rate. For 24-30fps you usually put 1/50-1/60, for 60fps it's 1/120 and this affects how the movement and motion blur result on screen. With this rule your footage will look both natural and "cinematic", meaning the way it's usually seen in films. Anything lower or higher than double the framerate will make for weird motion blur and movement
@Albi Losha Correct, there is absolutely no way that an ND filter wasn't used for this video. You can't lock your shutter in that low in bright daylight.
The footage you guys can capture from a phone is pretty amazing. Definitely making me rethink lugging around a dslr, C100, and a bunch of lenses! As far as the C100 goes do you guys shoot clog then color grade or wide dr? Regardless it looks great. Keep up the awesome work! Definitely getting on the Moment train here real soon.
Your video was just very simple to understand thank you. My question is can you share the link where I can buy the lens which you mentioned just at the end of the video ? I am based out of India
How do I "like" this video more than once? Also, help me decide between the wood case and the canvas case for my Pixel 2 XL... Great work guys, keep it up! I'm a fan!
Serious question, when filming everything in 4K 24fps in flat log, then going to film 120fps or even 60fps for that matter, filmic pro says cannot use log settings (flat, etc.) do you just try and match it to the rest of your footage in post color grading or what? Because it will look different right? Thanks in advance to anyone to can answer this or Moment!
Beautifully explained! And both of you look so happy - just like transmitting positive energies at the backdrop of an enchanting locale. I have a question, can Filmic Pro App be installed in a mid range non-Pixel-2 or iPhone? And, how do you find the DJI Osmo-2 gimbal? Thank you and please keep up the good work.
Hi there, great footage. Unfortunately I can't hear the name of the app used in the beginning of the video, what I recall hearing isn't on the app store. Can you please write it down. Would really appreciate it. ☺️
I noticed in Filmic Pro that the custom colour profiles like flat/log are "Not available at frame rates higher than 60fps." That is disappointing. What is the reason for this? If I need to shoot a mixture of regular and slow motion footage, am I now forced to do it all in non-log so that colour grading will be consistent in post-production?
Agreed. I can only assume that they shot other scenarios in 1080 or different profile than flat while making this video. For example, the truck going around curve , looks as it’s shot in flat log. Any work around you’ve come across?
Hi. Are u saying that u still can work with 60fps but not higher?. I tried mine and have to drop the frame rate to 30 to use the flat profile. I was expecting i can still work with at least 50-60 fps

@@SashNone Correct! So the question was it must be the app and not the phone correct? I've read that some people have had issue with filmic pro setting because of snapdragon processor, may be that can be the issue?
@@S.Creations1 yea, it can be. But still, don't you think it's a bit stupid. Once Samsung updates its OS the camera lost ability to shoot video in manual mode, I bought filmicpro to shoot manual, and what I get?... how I hate all this stupid marketing things....
I am into mobile videography and watch your videos alot and was wondering if you’ll help me answer my question on whether i should buy the filmic pro alone or the filmic camera kit

I love watching your videos on RUclips and I'm passionate about your products. I would like to know if someday in the future you will adapt your products to Oneplus 5/5t etc. Keep up the good work;) Cheers from portugal
You did an awesome video comparing a pro camera with mobile phone cameras a while ago. I'm curious, how does a mobile phone camera with the Moment tele lens compare with a DSLR for video? Asking because my iPhone 8 can shoot up to 4K at 60fps, but my Canon 70D is stuck in the past with only 1080p 30fps as its highest quality option.
Dope video. Your footage from the phone comes out so clean. Do you shoot 1/50? I’m forced to shoot mostly slomo on my iPhone due to over exposure. Best ND filter for iPhone if there is one?
When you use 1080p, 120fps for slow mo, you cant use Log V2. So should we drop to 60fps to be able to use it, or go for 120fps and dont care about the Log V2 ?
Nice video and products guys ! By watching this video, I actually realized that you were up in the squamish valley, weren’t you...? 😄🇨🇦 If Im right, good choice! I often go up in that corner to shoot some videos as well 🎥📸
Hi guys! Great video! Very informative. I have a question about slow motion in filmic pro. Do i need to change the playback fps as well (they said 24 is the standard)? Does it apply even if i use a 120fps capture? Thanks!
same Question for me, but I watched once a video which said to set playback in 24 always! and it's work in my slow motion shots, I will try out the same capture!
Thank you for posting this video , just starting out with an iPhone 8plus , what about editing software , what do you recommend ? By the way ,really cool work !
Hello! Do you always work without the stabilization icon off? Is it better to turn off stabilization in filmic pro? Thanks a lot. I'm a big fan of moment :)
This helps a lot! thank you very much! I've bought filmic pro but I'm still debating if buying the cinematographer kit is actually needed or not as you can actually do colour grading when you edit it at another app. What do you guys think?
Hey guys Thanks for the great video. I have a question, if I am filming outside and it is very sunny should I go with the sun setting that filmic pro offers or just flat with AWB I believe the sun setting might be the better option.
Love your content guys. I’m learning a lot from these videos . Question - if you shoot in 120 fps, do you slow it down in your video editing software to achieve slomo? Thanks
Yes but keep in mind your audio doesn't play at a normal rate, therefore not matching the video content anymore. It's slomo so that probably doesn't matter anyway
Thank you for the tips! Just waiting on some accessories to arrive so I can configure my iPhone X rig perfectly then I’m off to do some epic shooting! Can’t wait!!
So i'm purchasing an iphone X this week so that I can shoot decent videos. Do you find that your cases and lenses work best with an Android? Or not much different with iphone? And I'm assuming the lenses all fit well with the cases, regardless of type of phone?? I will also be using a lavlier mic for interviews, just want to make sure everything fits properly with case on since the X is made of silly glass. Thanks! Nice video by the way

I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned Shutter speed? I lock it at 1/48 at 24fps
Yeah. Any idea which one is the best? I tried 24fps at 1/48 but the video looks choppy.
@ Depends how well lit your scene is. The slower the shutter, the less light it lets in. Brighten it up or up your shutter speed
@ there's a rule: shutter speed should always be around double your frame rate. For 24-30fps you usually put 1/50-1/60, for 60fps it's 1/120 and this affects how the movement and motion blur result on screen.
How to shoot cinematic footage: go up a mountain and use any camera with any settings
Hi thanks for this informative video, can we know which lens adapters you are using ?
Very lovely and informative video. That slow-mo with the car was amazing! :D
Your wide angle is BOSS! Keep up the great work!
Hey guys, great video. Just getting started with shooting an your videos are great. Do you have the links to the wide & tele lens? I have a Galaxy S9 Plus and want to see what will work best.
Excellent stuff‼️ slow motion ~ yep 1080p & FPS 60. But what do you set the play back at❓do you set it to 24 in the slider menu?
I love watching your videos on RUclips and I'm passionate about your products. I would like to know if someday in the future you will adapt your products to Oneplus 5/5t etc.
Keep up the good work;) Cheers from portugal
Love the filming tips. Very helpful for us amateurs. Merry Christmas!.
Thank you for the video! What did you use to hold the phone for the time lapse shot?
Two good dudes in the woods shooting!
Thanks 😊
Can you tell me the brand and type of lenses you showed us at the end of this video? Thanks for the video, really helpful.
Moment lenses, really cool
Fantastic information
Very helpful and nice film. I just got Filmic Pro for my Samsung S10+ today!
Hey guys! Where can I get the LUTs used in the iPhone cinematic videos? THANKY OU
Hey guys ! Awesome video! - what is this lense for iphone? and where to get it thanks! 🙏
Smooth shots are always so satisfying
Nice work guys! Hi from Vancouver! Much appreciated tips! Love how you guys back up your great products with great tutorials.
Thanks so much Erik!
Nice video and products guys !
By watching this video, I actually realized that you were up in the squamish valley, weren’t you...? 😄🇨🇦
If Im right, good choice!
Thanks for tips!
Where can I get those lenses? What brand are they?
Space 671 Moment lenses! They absolutely amazing and affordable.
Which aperture you recomend for filming? Or it change depending what I am filming? Thank you
This helps a lot! thank you very much!
Just wondering if you have links to the two lenses you mentioned at the end of the video?
Love the camera man sliding on the snow moment lol. You guys are too cute.
Hey what are the best “add ons” to film? Like lenses and attachments. I have the iPhone 7plus. Will the Osmo Mobile 2 support the weight of a lens?
Thank you for the tips! Just waiting on some accessories to arrive so I can configure my iPhone X rig perfectly then I’m off to do some epic shooting! Can’t wait!!
Hey guys, great video, where did u purchase those lenses? they seem very easy to attach and good quality.
Thanks! Nice video by the way
Great video guys..... I have the Samsung S9+ and I’ve been wanting to create some short cinematic style videos. Will I be able to film the clips on the phone and then transfer them to my iPad Pro to edit them? I don’t own a PC
fresh mine will be delivered tomorrow, can't wait to show you the stuff i make with it !
Thanks so much for these tutorials! So do you guys typically film in filmic pro vs the moment app? Or are there certain times you would suggest using one over the other?
