Protip: film in 30 fps and change the clip's frame rate to 24 in post. In Premiere right click the video file > Modify > Interpet footage > Change frame rate. This way you get a slightly slower motion which also gives a more stable look to handheld footage.
Unless you're reducing the frame rate in post by exactly 50% doesn't this mess with the retiming process? Wouldn't it result in dropped frames and "stuttery", jerky footage when the final render is done?
I disagree a little bit! It can happen that you need this shaky effect to tell your story and it won't work if the scene is too smooth. But I do agree that it's still amazing! Nice vidéo by the way.
iPhone at 60fps gives pretty smooth and stabilised image. I would never recommend getting a stabilizer for iPhones. And yes, I say this with confidence because I have tons of experience making videos on iPhones.
Just popped over from Peter’s site. Funny that you were so close to 100K on this video. Now, you are quickly approaching 1M. Just getting into some video on a 12 Pro Max. Would love to see an updated version of this for 2020/2021. An early congrats on 1M... Oh, and BTW, Happy Birthday!
actually now stoked i found this channel because i do all of my filming on my galaxy s8 and although most of this stuff is either on my list or things i already do. the big take away was changing the frame rate etc will check out the app.
Watching this Dec. 2020. To see you talk about getting to 100K subscribers in the video and now have 1mil + subscribers is so inspiring. This video was AWESOME !
This is a very, very helpful and brief synopsis for making video. You are so right about the five points you highlight. They can make any amateur video footage appear much more professional and enjoyable for the viewer to experience. It is so easy with the availability of technology for most anyone to venture into this field of video production. Thanks for this simple, concise and well versed tutorial.
Matti, I'm an old subscriber of your channel and because I love you and have a lot of respect for what you do, watching now this video published more than 2 years ago, I have to tell you... the image in this looks better, it sounds better and also, the overall vibe of the video is more pleasant.. i'm not one of those haters that have a lot of time and don't know what to do with it so they make other people feel terrible because they are terrible, but because I appreciate a lot what you've done for the community I thought I could share my thoughts as a fan with constructive feedback.. Cheers & love
Hi Matti! New subscriber here. I have an iPhone 13 mini and was wondering if there is a wireless mic that isn't a pain in the tuchus. I have some wireless mics which pick up too much white noise or buzz. Would love if you made a video on this or if you could do a video on different types of mics you love! Thank you so much for your incredbily informative videos. Kiitos!
All of this is so relevant today. He’s basically saying the phone isn’t the essential part, it’s how you use it. This is why we look at this footage now and still think it looks good. Because it was filmed well. Good work.
I really like FiLMiC Pro. I need to utilize it more often. Thanks for the reminder. I have also been on the fence regarding a gimbal or a steadycam. This is another good reason to go with the Crane gimbal. I hadn't thought of being able to use it with my phone. ✌️👍
Awesome video! I feel like it's worth mentioning that the Zhiyun iPhone gimbal does not work well with that particular iPhone lens kit. I'm excited to get some of these products and try improving my videos!
Great video! Can you make, or do you have a video instructing on how you do that fast slow fast motions? What settings do you adjust within Filmic Pro, and post-production to achieve such a cool professional technique? Again, great job TF!
Matti, quick question. I was wondering if you'd be able to explain to me the process of growing your audience like you have. Like what separates me from you in terms of marketing and/or skills? I can make tutorials, I have the knowledge to teach others, and I have the skills to get the job done. Where do I start in terms of getting videos out there and using my skills to teach others and grow my audience?
Hey bro! Thanks for your video and greetings from Colombia! I have a question! You can mount the micro and the lenses case and put it all together with the gimbal? Thank You...
While filming use slow Mo option for entire filming then share the video only through SHAREit..you will get 120fps video that looks really really smooth
Hi, I read about this gimbal before, but the only reason I didn't get it it's because it - in theory - doesn't work with Filmic Pro. But as you recommended both in your video I would like to confirm this information. Do you use both? Thank you for all your videos, they are helping me a lot!
Dear Matti 🌹, excellent video. You learn something new every day. What kind of video editing you use? Is Final Cut Pro a good one to use? 🤔. Thank you 🙏 💐🌹. Kudos from Alaska . Many blessings 😇
I've never tried stabilization, it seems kinda hard tbh 😂 I'll try it out soon, maybe the one you mentioned! Thank you btw, and congratulations for almost 100k! you deserve it and so much more 💕
99k Subscribers WHATTTTT!?!?! So close to hitting 100K!! Thanks to everyone for subbing!
yeh, your content is cool
So close!! Congrats man well earned :)
Congrats!
ayyyy almost got that 100k plaque!
You're the best you and Peter McKinnon are some of my favorite people to learn from thanks for all the help!
If he shot that in a iPhone 6s imagine how good it could be in a iPhone 11 😂
halest depends on skills and creativity 😇
No microphone port... u forgot lol...
Found your channel and watched this, so happy that you added closed caption on video for deaf people like me 😄🤙🏼 subscribed 👍🏼👍🏼

+Frame Upgrade yep that works too but not for real time!
Unless you're reducing the frame rate in post by exactly 50% doesn't this mess with the retiming process? Wouldn't it result in dropped frames and "stuttery", jerky footage when the final render is done?
The Adventure Biker when you take the fps from 30 to 24 you will slow the footage down by 20%. 6 frames less per second.
Frame Upgrade and now u r at 800k
Matti, remember when you were excited about almost reaching 100k subscribers..now you are almost at 600,000 subscribers, this is awesome!
now he's almost at a million
Olumide JIBO yup
901k😍
@@OlumideJIBO Well, he's passed a million now lol
I guess a stabilizer is one of the most important tools for making any footage look cinematic (?)
100% especially with any smaller cameras that are really lightweight
I disagree a little bit! It can happen that you need this shaky effect to tell your story and it won't work if the scene is too smooth. But I do agree that it's still amazing!
Nice vidéo by the way.

Cecil Mathew what about a selfie stick as a stabilizer
@@getmajor A stick is an extension. A stabilizer is something to compensate for movement - like a gimbal.
WoW! You are so clear and concise. Your information is well organized and super digestible. You rock!

Yep! Its how you use the tools that counts

Use Moment lenses best in my opinion.
