The game is great but as an achievement hunter a lot of the achievements take a serious amount of time and effort-not to mention that super difficult 'hardcore risette fan' achievement. The gameplay is spot on-memorable characters you will learn to love, great replayability, intriguing fusion system and lots more. Hands down in the top 3 games you can get on Vita and I would put it in my top 10 of all time (I have played far too many games). BUY IT!
ofc, because Persona games are all different then other jrpg, Persona games tell us a story and for a story you need a prolog. and the prolog is that 2h on start of the game
Was contemplating on buying this from Amazon but on Saturday I found it in my Game store in England for £29.99, I had to buy it and now I am hooked. Such a great game!!
man I wish this was on other systems. I missed Persona 4 back when it came out and now hearing constant and consistent praise about it just makes me want to play this or the original more.
I'm not a fan of RPG's, in fact I hate turn-base. However there was something about P4G that made me want to give it a try. After playing through the game, I can honestly say that Persona 4 Golden is now in my top 3 Favorite Video Games of all Time!
Its on sale now for 20 bucks but im saving up for borderlands 2 is it really worth it i like jrpg but i never enjoyed persona ps1 games.. Is it worth it really
Yes persona golden is great I love it but millstone mercenary is great too not to mention minecraft and borderlands 2 are already coming out on the vita the vita is making a comeback.personally the vita is way better than the 3DS.Metal gear solid HD collection is great too.I recommend people buy the vita rather than the 3DS.
Holy shit thatis the exact sane way I feel, except I started with 3 not 4. This is one of the only RPGs other than pokemon I can play. The first two were really hard to get use to after playing the fist three though :/
dude, you can get the game in America. Plus (if you really wanna play the Japanese version) you can just get an import copy and play on your American PSVITA as there is no region lock.
hurricanehaon Well than buy that SWEET new The Walking Dead + 4GB memory card bundle for $199,or wait till the PSVITA PCH-2000 comes out in America for the same price as the 3DS along with 2GB of internal memory. And if you wanna play Japenese versions of games, the VITA has a HUGE advantage over the 3DS as the VITA is not region locked(no offense to the 3DS I love the 3DS)
No PS Vita TV is region locked unlike it's handheld brethren you'll need a Japanese PS account and though i'm not 100% sure i don't it'll play US or EU games.
Yep, I only bought a Vita for only this game. Its THAT good. The only game that its better on my book is Persona 3, that you can also get on the PSN (FES for PS3 and Portable for PSP), so go and buy a Vita for this 2 games, NOW!
Between this and 3 I think the darkest by far is 3 it revolves around death while this one revolves around answers and 4 Gotta wish it was like P3P though Where you can choose the gender of the main character and evryone will call her Yuuna or something i mean come on isn't that great?
One could argue that the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield aren't Nerdy things to do; but after so many whored-out releases (and with fans purchasing every release without a single thought's opposition) can they really be classed as Games anymore?
Can someone tell me what makes this game really good? I look everywhere and it has 9+ ratings and people say that they don't normally even play JRPGs and thought it would suck and when they tried it they got addicted to it. What's the catch???
Well for the most part, the JRPG bit is half the game. The other half is a social sim in which you do stuff like study, hang out with your friends, work, ect. It's pretty addicting and the characters are all very well written and likable, plus, once you get close to them, your social links improve which allow you to make stronger Persona for battle. The battle system is also pretty easy to get into. Figuring out enemy weaknesses and creating Persona based on your wants and needs. Plus, you can use an item that allows you to leave a dungeon and come back on the same floor you were on another day, so if you're dangerously low on resources or get a bit burnt out on the dungeon, you can just leave and go back later. Course, you don't want to spend too much time waiting, as the game does have a time limit for each person you need to save. Now come on Jesse. We have to cook.
The gameplay is unlike any other JRPGs and I've played alot of them yeah it's turn based but the 1 MORE system added more advantages. It's combat keeps things intresting and the characters are exploding with development over the course of the story. And while it is an RPG it's really hard to allocvate your in-game days because there's waytoo much to do. Normally when I was in the TV world I'd spend alot of my time (and in-game money) fusing personas and when I'd get a relly epic mix like Magatsu-Izanagi, Izanagi no Okami, Horus or trumpeter I'd jump into the hardest dungeions I had at that point and fight shadows or go give the reaper the middle finger and try to fight him
for rpg story fanatics, it's got an amazing script. The dungeons are balls hard unless you really take time out to overlevel yourself (and I mean REALLY overlevel)
Im in the same boat, I barely play jrpg's (played a few as a kid just screwing around) but now I need a good game for my vita and this keeps popping up everywhere as a must have title so im looking out for a good deal then buying it.
resident evil 4 vita edition. No No scratch that. Resident evil HD collection exclusively for ps vita. RE:1,2,3 remade and remastered with a better graphics engine. Just like RE1 on gamecube. And if it can't fit all of the games on a tiny vita game card. Then make it digital download, I'd still buy it despite it forcing some people to buy the 32gb memory card.
I would be so much happier if you could change the audio to Japanese, like in other games (Fire Emblem Awakening, for example). The soundtrack during battles grates on my nerves with the weird spoken-word thing with the lyrics, and I can't stand Chie's voice. Otherwise I adored this game and got extremely addicted. My friend let me borrow his Vita during my last few days of spring break and my life has been consumed. Also. Teddie commentating during the battle also drives me nuts. I've put about 45 hours into the game, most of that time is spent grinding so I'm not actually too far into the game (just hitting level 50) and I've heard Teddie joins your party later on (maybe?) so perhaps the commentary stops then, but as of right now it's annnoooyyinggggg. "Yosuke pounded an enemy! Mind your health, Sensei! Chie's in rampage mode! I smell two enemies, fight fight fight!" Grr. It's un...bear...able. That being said, I still love the game. But still. I can dream.
Zelda Kitten Is the game worth buying a PS Vita? @___@ I love RPGs but I'm used to stuff like Xenoblade, this game looks kinda noice and I've been thinking about buying a Vita because of it for a while now. Since you just borrowed one of your friend: Did you feel like buying a Vita after giving it back? :^3
AlphaTier1995 He actually hasn't asked for it back, mwahaha >:3 I have always owned Nintendo handheld consoles so I can say that even though I own a 3DS, I love the Vita just as much (if not maybe more - but just barely). The battery life is INSANE, it's better than a phone or laptop or the 3DS. And if it dies in the middle of a game, when you plug it in and turn it on again, somehow it's in the exact spot you left off, even if you haven't saved for a while. It has the two control sticks like the PS4 controller and it feels really nice and natural. The speakers are pretty great actually and the only kind of problem I have with the vita is that unlike Nintendo handhelds, you can't "close" it, so the screen can get scratched pretty easily. But I really, REALLY plan on buying one once I have to give his back, even though I don't have very much money. Especially because the games that are on there are more JRPG style than the 3DS. So aaaaaaah I definitely recommend ^o^ Hopefully there are some available on eBay that aren't too expensive!
Zelda Kitten Lel,lucky you :p Tbh I don't know if I have enough time for a Vita, a 3DS, a PS4, a Wii U and some retro stuff @__@ I owned a PSP before and it was...meh, but now that you mention it, the PSP had a similar "standby-mode-feature" (I'm so good at word creations) as well. It's easy to have a better battery life than the 3DS tho :p Hmm sounds like its a pretty solid console overall, ayy now you pretty much sealed the deal for me. Actually it's not THAT expensive. I'm the type of fool who buys everything Nintendo related as soon as it gets released, so I bought the 3DS when it was super expensive :c The PSVita isn't that expensive in comparison, but iirc sony lowered the price as well, just like Nintendo did with the 3DS. Anywayysss THANKS for your efforts, I'll look for it at my local stores and compare some prizes soon. Oh and how dare you, loving the Vita more than your 3DS :O I'm really really REALLY disappointed :c (Oh and thanks again)
I have a PS3. Persona 4 is only available in my region as a PS Vita game. But I don't want to buy a PS Vita just to play Persona 4. Answer? Make a PS3 User with a U.S. Address to have a 'U.S. Region User'. Once done you will see that the PS Market has Persona 4 as a PS3 game. (make sure the zip code is actually real, a simple zip code search would suffice) The next problem in this was my inability to buy anything from the PS Market because I did not have a U.S. based credit card. Answer? Search the internet for sellers of U.S. REGION PSN Cards (10$ in my case). They will accept your credit card from anywhere in the world and allow you to buy a U.S. Region PSN card for a slight (10%) markup. So now I am able to buy the Persona 4 Golden for my playstation 3 as any U.S. based user can through a U.S. Region PSN card (10$). Even if I do not live in the U.S. Persona 4 Golden is downloading to my PS3 as you read this. It's a hassle I know but it can be done.
acjackson127 Yes I just downloaded it and started it on my PS3 an hour ago it works. Thing is ONLY the U.S. Playstation Market has a version compatible with PS3. The other international regions have a version only compatible with Vita. To further prove this look at the product information on the PS market for Persona 4 in any other region other than the U.S. region. It say compatibale with Vita only. Whereby the product version of Persona 4 on the U.S. Playstation market is compatible with PS3 as well as Vita. In other words the only way to get a version that works on PS3 is the way I mentioned above. I downloaded it and installed it on my PS3 and I am looking at the title screen of Persona 4 on my TV right now. It's asking me to push start to begin playing as I would any other title on my PS3.
acjackson127 The main concern is you should only buy the Persona 4 version available on the U.S. PSN market. To access to U.S. PSN market you must access it via a user that has a U.S. Mailing address. (this is done when you first create another user on the PS3 with a U.S. Mailing Address). In other words I have more than one user on my PS3. One created for the region I am in (via my current mailing address) and the other created specifically to access the U.S. region market that has much more variety and better deals (sometimes) via my U.S. mailing address. The key to remember here is the PS categorizes what region you are in by the address you provide when you create the user. Not by where you access the internet from.
Stalking Mantis I understand that but Persona 4 Golden is a game made for the vita and on the P4G page on PSN it even states PSvita and no other consoles. I'm fine because I already have Persona 4 downloaded but when it comes to golden I don't think it will work.
This is not a sarcastic statement. I am really serious with this next question. How has this game changed your life? I've heard other gamers say that about other games and it always struck me as odd. How does a game change your life? I truly am very curious why I see gamers say this about certain games. I've been playing games for 27 years and never experienced a game that changed my life. What exactly about this game in particular changed your life and how so?
The only reason why I don't have this games is because of the fact that you can't customize you character and you have to play as some weird grey haired dude
+coolmzn226 thanks you for addressing royalty properly lol it's kinda like a shitty movie so I guess the answer is terrible writing and overall plot, and the fact that their is a bad combat system as well equals absolute trash.
this isnt just a game, its an experience. one that you will remember even when youre a grandpa. it is that amazing!

I'm getting a Vita solely for this game. P4 is absolutely incredible. One of the best games ever on the PS2.
Im so glad that I just got the game for Christmas but it took about 2 hours for it to get really interesting.

Oh, ok. Thank you :)
Happy Holidays!
I can't understand people that play rpgs complaining long story telling...
You know rpgs are not 3 hours game like some FPS.
SoulGuitarMetal my only complaint about rpgs is that the tutorials take long from 1 to 2 hours depending on which rpg game your playing
Was contemplating on buying this from Amazon but on Saturday I found it in my Game store in England for £29.99, I had to buy it and now I am hooked. Such a great game!!
So glad this has finally been released in the UK. Loved the original and can't wait to fall in love with it all over again.
it really took me about 20 hours to get hooked, its hard to recommend to non-rpg fans.
Thanx for mentioning that I almost bought it

I downloaded it and installed it on my PS3 and I am looking at the title screen of Persona 4 on my TV right now. It's asking me to push start to begin playing as I would any other title on my PS3.

The main concern is you should only buy the Persona 4 version available on the U.S.
I ve put about 30 hrs into the game and I still don't see this game being a 9.4... Maybe a 7.4...
finish another 30
I stopped playing a little while back...
the one persona was named "bufu"...xD By us Fuck You! xDDD
I finally got a ps vita a few days ago, and I ca't find anyone who sells this fucking game! what didI do wrong in a past life?!
Japanese RPG
Problem is I've already played the original and watched the anime :/
This is not a sarcastic statement. I am really serious with this next question. How has this game changed your life? I've heard other gamers say that about other games and it always struck me as odd. How does a game change your life? I truly am very curious why I see gamers say this about certain games. I've been playing games for 27 years and never experienced a game that changed my life. What exactly about this game in particular changed your life and how so?
Play Minecraft
Kanji is not gay. He is just afraid of what people think of what he likes and his shadow portrait it as all gay stuff.
This game saved the vita . Vita lacks software sooo bad. persona is the only reason to own one

The only reason why I don't have this games is because of the fact that you can't customize you character and you have to play as some weird grey haired dude

Play Minecraft
I am a jrpg veteran but CAN NOT STAND this shitty series of games hell i would rather play chrono cross then this steaming pile of trash
then you're not a real jrpg veteran.
You're just an amateur.
Or there are just a lot of ams and not many pros
Darcy forbesbox That's a fact.
Most people feel like pros just cause they played a final fantasy or a mass effect.
care to state your reasons to us non-JRPG-veteran peasants, your highness?
+coolmzn226 thanks you for addressing royalty properly lol
it's kinda like a shitty movie
so I guess the answer is terrible writing and overall plot, and the fact that their is a bad combat system as well equals absolute trash.
>.< I wish Atlus do a remake of this game with the graphic style of Catherine on the new consoles!!
They are NICE
