I bought a random bunch of vita games a few years ago,didn't play much since my daughter got hold of it. I was surprised to find this was among them. I just started playing since watching this video. Working on the mechanics to the upgrade everything. I'm from the ps1-ps3 generation & this is reminding me of Final Fantasy but more intricate in its storytelling.
I really love Persona 4 Golden. It was the main reason why I wanted to get a PS Vita. This game is hands-down perfect in every way possible. I love this game so much, I made it my favorite video game of all time...or until Persona 5 comes out, which I am really looking forward to.

I watched a lot of persona reviews to convince myself to get it because I want it but I keep procrastinating but you made me decide for real now I'm buying it first chance I get!

Or deducting points for extremely small parts of a game it's unreliable I'm happy I found a small fee who seem like they actually played the game and reviewed from all angles.
I totally agree. I think the real problem with IGN sometimes is that they get the wrong people to review certain games. It pisses me off sometimes when they get a person who you can tell by the tone of their voice that they are completely not interested or a fan of the game they're reviewing. But hey, what are you going to do?
I just recently started to finally play it after owning it for a year, when I bought my vita. It's damn good, even though I just got to the combat after 2 1/2 hours. It starts slowwwwwwwwwww, but it's the perfect game for a chain smoke/drink break lol. I'm still in the tutorial section of the game, but I'm guessing it's almost done as I've faced my first boss and got my first persona. The music and voice acting are really good, you even have a young Troy Baker.

If u own a Ps3 try P3fes or try P3P for Vita, P1 and 2 lack the social links feature, P3 needs a remake like FF7R and most persona fans like P2 story, needs a remake, and I curious to see, if the story is good or not. From my exp, after P4G, try P3 and 5, they are similar. P3 is much dark and P5 much sober compared with P4.
Finally got around to starting this game a few days ago and I'm loving it. I'm now hunting for the biker dude in a bathouse. Never thought I'd ever be typing that but great game
Finished this game years ago. Finished Persona 5 Royal yesterday. 2 of THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME for me. Might go back and play P4Golden tomorrow again.

I Just only bought my 1st PS VITA SLIM today & this game out of a choice of about 6 other games I had nvr heard of but I enjoyed the Persona4arena 2d beat ups plus I like a good old JRPG on occasion,I’m hyped to get playing it after all the reviews I’ve seen,especially this one,so after this coffee & smoke I’m going to dedicate a huge part of my night into morning with this!Can’t wait to see if the hype is real!✊🏽✌🏽fi 🏴
Glad to see you finally played Persona 4 and enjoyed it :D . Although my school days certainly did not involve watering plants and taking cute girls to the movie. A combination of laziness and the fact I went to an all boys school. It's funny you keep drawing parellels with anime, because there is a Persona 4 anime out there.

SuperJumpReviews There are two anime adaptions, one based on the PS2 original and one based on Golden. I've only seen the one based on the PS2 original, however the anime adds some new characters, new events and minor changes to the plot. But follows the basic overall storyline.
I will also admit that this game is NOT for everyone. It's not even meant for casual fans of JRPG. It can be a slow burn where you spend literal days doing mundane things. Yakuza is somewhat similar but compressed for time and more open world but the Persona game is a life path rather than an open world RPG. You need to dedicate a part of your soul into investment and the pay off is great. I started on this franchise with P4 on the PS2 and then discovered P3 FES, and then tried it on the PSP. Didn't like the other Persona games. When P5 came out, I knew they would pull a Golden and give us another version and I bought that as well and getting Rumble/Striker next month
jokatech aww nah man. It's nothing like shenmue. haha. There's basically a street and you just walk to one end and back. A lot of the game is scripted but it's cool though. Some stores you can go into to buy supplies but you can't walk around in the store or anything.
Fernando Piceno Absolutely! But don't wait too long. Vita games are getting harder and harder to come by especially some of the RPG's. If you have Playstation Plus, you get free vita games each month too. Decide what vita you want. The older model with the OLED or the newer LCD. Hope that helps.
In my case was the anime and movies and Jonheawesome walktroughts on the persona, made me want to tried out, before P5 release. Persona games are inspired on Jungian psychology, thus the personas and shadows u face.

just got the Vita recently and got this because of the rave reviews. it's been about half hour to the game and it's nothing but a bunch of video's one after the other. when does the actual game start or is this it?
Well, first of all let me just say that both games are amazing but....I have heard a lot of complaints saying Persona 4 is boring and takes a while to start from a few people who didn't like it. So I'm going to have to say FFX. If you're not into anime then Persona 4 is a harder sell. The story and characters take a while to get going so if you don't like anime from the start it's going to be difficult for you to like Persona 4. FFX is a personal favorite of mine so that will always be my choice. Yeah, Go with FFX😁Then maybe pick up Persona 4 down the road.
Nice review man! I love this game and like literally played it 4-5 times and its surprisingly always refreshing, you know with its slice of life scripting and solid battle mechanics; one of the BEST JRPGS Ive played.

ericexplosion25 I went for Yukiko. It seemed like a good idea at the time but then I really wanted Rise but by then it was a little too late in the game :( There was also that blonde stuck up girl who wanted me to cut class with her but I don't know....
I kind of feel I already had enough playing Persona 4 related all of because persona 5 came around where I seem to be more interested and can't wait until it comes out on April for Ps3, I may not want to try this out because I already know what it is about since I played ultilmax and dancing all night. Don't really want to feel repetitive when playing another persona 4 just me

@@zakman4584 I gotcha. Hm... Well, think of all the ps vita games you'd might want to play. Is it enough to make you wan to buy an entire console? If it's only 2 or 3, then I'd say save your money. The vita's been discontinued and support for it is nonexistent regardless of what everyone else is preaching. I love the ps vita but I'm gonna be real with you. Whatever is on the vita is basically what you're gonna be playing. There are new releases of niche games, mostly visual novels, and 2d indie side scrollers(if you're into that kind of thing). There's also the modding community if you know anything about that. It is a unique piece of hardware but to buy it hoping to have a variety of game genres to play is foolish. My rule of thumb is, if you've ever got any doubt in your mind then most likely you should follow it. If you're uncertain about making the purchase then hold off a little longer. Sorry for the rant, I just don't want you to spend money on something and then regret it later. Money isn't easy to come by nowadays.
SuperJumpReviews I’ve been thinking about this for quite a long time and I feel that a vita is just the best way to enjoy persona 3 and 4. We don’t have FES but at least we have portable. Vita also has the undoubtably definitive edition of p4. Those two games look very interesting to me and p5r is my favorite of all time and idk how else I can get into the other persona games. There’s emulation of course, but I don’t have a pc and only a Mac laptop that runs most games like shit. Tbh I’m not too interested in the other games the vita has to offer. I also might mod it if I’m able to and if it’s not too difficult and doesn’t demand too much. Remote play is also a bonus. It seems fun to be able to play any PS4 game on handheld. Also I’ve heard that the vita will go up in price and be more rare later on. So maybe I’ll be able to sell it for around 200 in a couple of years, do you think it’ll end up going up in price later on? I have a decent amount of extra money so I’m not all too worried about that.
@@zakman4584 If money is not an issue, then yeah, I definitely suggest getting it now. Reason being is that the vita's that are available now are still in pretty good condition. Very good to near mint in my experience or at least from what a lot of my viewers tell me. The longer you wait, the harder it is will be to find one in decent shape. Cause think about it, how easy is it to find a psp that's in really good condition for a good price nowadays? Not very easy. Most of them run a high price. So yeah, in that case, buy the vita now! While they're affordable and in excellent shape. Heck now I'm thinking about getting another one too🤣good luck.

You should be able to get a PS2 emulator for free. It won't be this version, though. It'll just be regular, not Golden. That means it'll be missing some content. Still really good, though!

No. Go get it. No need to have played the others. The only real overarching plot is just ideas, like what a persona is. And those ideas are perfectly explained. You'll be fine.
I can't watch a single "best games on vita" type list without hearing this game brought up and drooled over, i just don't get it. Some parts look ok but others just look so...fucking...Japanese!!! By Japanese i mean whacked the hell out and totally insane. One part murder mystery and one part fighting a cat wearing a toaster as a hat, a leotard and destroying him by flinging peanut butter sandwiches in the shape of unicorns. (That isn't in the game...but it literally wouldn't surprise me). It looks ridiculous and i just can't bring myself to buy it.
it's all good man. Not everybody can like every single type of game. hell, as much as I love playing games, there are quite a few games I can't stand either. Same with my other friend, he can't seem to get into Kingdom hearts no matter how many times he gives it a try. If you don't like then you don't like it, simple as that. On that note, I do love this game though. It is so freakin awesome, lol
Kingdom hearts is a game that mixes cartoons designed for toddlers and characters for older gamers into one seriously weird abortion of a video game. I will never understand grown men that go crazy for Nintendo characters or other things intended for small children....it just reeks of developmental issues and screams the need for intense therapy. My grandfather is majorly into Nintendo in a serious way....he also thinks it is hilarious to show pornographic images with lame jokes over them to children, so he isn't allowed at any family functions anymore....which just helps my point. If you are a grown ass man and you are going nuts over things obviously intended for little kids, something went wrong. Maturity is a thing and people are supposed to experience it, not skip it entirely.

Nice review man! I love this game and like literally played it 4-5 times and its surprisingly always refreshing, you know with its slice of life scripting and solid battle mechanics; one of the BEST JRPGS Ive played.

ericexplosion25 I went for Yukiko. It seemed like a good idea at the time but then I really wanted Rise but by then it was a little too late in the game :( There was also that blonde stuck up girl who wanted me to cut class with her but I don't know....
I had the same mind set playing the first time. Went for Yukiko but then Rise came later in the game and her personality was so fun. lol

I kind of feel I already had enough playing Persona 4 related all of because persona 5 came around where I seem to be more interested and can't wait until it comes out on April for Ps3, I may not want to try this out because I already know what it is about since I played ultilmax and dancing all night. @@zakman4584 I gotcha. Hm... Well, think of all the ps vita games you'd might want to play. Is it enough to make you wan to buy an entire console? If it's only 2 or 3, then I'd say save your money. The vita's been discontinued and support for it is nonexistent regardless of what everyone else is preaching. I love the ps vita but I'm gonna be real with you. Whatever is on the vita is basically what you're gonna be playing. There are new releases of niche games, mostly visual novels, and 2d indie side scrollers(if you're into that kind of thing). There's also the modding community if you know anything about that. It is a unique piece of hardware but to buy it hoping to have a variety of game genres to play is foolish. My rule of thumb is, if you've ever got any doubt in your mind then most likely you should follow it. If you're uncertain about making the purchase then hold off a little longer. Sorry for the rant, I just don't want you to spend money on something and then regret it later. Money isn't easy to come by nowadays.
SuperJumpReviews I’ve been thinking about this for quite a long time and I feel that a vita is just the best way to enjoy persona 3 and 4. We don’t have FES but at least we have portable. Vita also has the undoubtably definitive edition of p4. Those two games look very interesting to me and p5r is my favorite of all time and idk how else I can get into the other persona games. There’s emulation of course, but I don’t have a pc and only a Mac laptop that runs most games like shit. Tbh I’m not too interested in the other games the vita has to offer. I also might mod it if I’m able to and if it’s not too difficult and doesn’t demand too much. Remote play is also a bonus. It seems fun to be able to play any PS4 game on handheld. Also I’ve heard that the vita will go up in price and be more rare later on. So maybe I’ll be able to sell it for around 200 in a couple of years, do you think it’ll end up going up in price later on? I have a decent amount of extra money so I’m not all too worried about that.
@@zakman4584 If money is not an issue, then yeah, I definitely suggest getting it now. Reason being is that the vita's that are available now are still in pretty good condition. Very good to near mint in my experience or at least from what a lot of my viewers tell me. The longer you wait, the harder it is will be to find one in decent shape. Cause think about it, how easy is it to find a psp that's in really good condition for a good price nowadays? Not very easy. Most of them run a high price. So yeah, in that case, buy the vita now! While they're affordable and in excellent shape. Heck now I'm thinking about getting another one too🤣good luck.

It won't be this version, though. It'll just be regular, not Golden. That means it'll be missing some content. Still really good, though!

No. Go get it. No need to have played the others. The only real overarching plot is just ideas, like what a persona is. And those ideas are perfectly explained. You'll be fine.

I can't watch a single "best games on vita" type list without hearing this game brought up and drooled over, i just don't get it. Some parts look ok but others just look so...fucking...Japanese!!! By Japanese i mean whacked the hell out and totally insane. One part murder mystery and one part fighting a cat wearing a toaster as a hat, a leotard and destroying him by flinging peanut butter sandwiches in the shape of unicorns. (That isn't in the game...but it literally wouldn't surprise me). It looks ridiculous and i just can't bring myself to buy it.
it's all good man. Not everybody can like every single type of game. hell, as much as I love playing games, there are quite a few games I can't stand either. Same with my other friend, he can't seem to get into Kingdom hearts no matter how many times he gives it a try. If you don't like then you don't like it, simple as that. On that note, I do love this game though. It is so freakin awesome, lol

Kingdom hearts is a game that mixes cartoons designed for toddlers and characters for older gamers into one seriously weird abortion of a video game. I will never understand grown men that go crazy for Nintendo characters or other things intended for small children....it just reeks of developmental issues and screams the need for intense therapy. My grandfather is majorly into Nintendo in a serious way....he also thinks it is hilarious to show pornographic images with lame jokes over them to children, so he isn't allowed at any family functions anymore....which just helps my point. If you are a grown ass man and you are going nuts over things obviously intended for little kids, something went wrong. Maturity is a thing and people are supposed to experience it, not skip it entirely.
