the thing unique to MK7 is how hitting walls works if you have any speed. you just bounce off the walls which is what differentiates it against 8 (in a negative way). that mechanic was added to help beginners who hit walls often not be super far behind but what it actually does is add a really annoyingly complex and unintuitive mechanic to help you move faster on most places in most stages.
i love this game too, i wish i could still play it i lost my card, but no doubt my favorite mk game too, wii’s close but i def like mk7 better, i spent so long tryna unlock everything 😂

I remember struggling alot on SNES rainbow road the first time I tried it, but later on I got very used to it. In my opinion, Mario Kart 7 is an underrated masterpiece, and its among my childhood games.

They just didn’t know that they did until I point it out to them. On the other hand, I haven’t seen a 3DS owner in 10 years, and they rarely ever had a physical or digital copy of “Mario Kart 7.”
This was a really nice retrospective! I've had MK8 ever since it came out in 2014 and to be honest, I've been getting a bit bored with it lately, so I've been revisiting the older Mario Karts more often, mostly Wii and MK7. Even if it's not as good as some of the previous titles (mostly because of the somewhat boring item balance and lack of VS mode IMO), I still love MK7 and play it even to this day. I remembered playing the hell out of time trials mode in this game since there was no VS mode and racing against the SpotPass ghosts to try to improve my PBs and learn new shortcuts. Also, the ultra shortcuts are on a similar part with MkWii albeit the ones on the Wuhu tracks are really easy. Great video nonetheless.
mario kart 7 is def my favorite, i have a few things i dislike, like how they removed some characters an some fun maps an stuff like that, but overall i really enjoyed playing this game all the time when i was younger and 100% it, i wish it got more recognition bc its personally my favorite, bruh and i also loved super mario 3d land too, i had only the slept on games i feel like 😂, cuz they were both so good, and to be fair for most of my childhood i had a gameboy and a 3ds not no consoles so all i could play we’re the handheld games, and i personally think almost all of em are slept on
For me Mario Kart Wii was everywhere, not only was it the Mario Kart I played the most, it was also very big at several peoples houses that I went to and was also big at my elementary school.
nobody gave it a chance because of the huge amount of micro transactions and lack of interesting advanced gameplay mechanics even if it does have some new tracks
7 was unique in a way and it has better glider physics than 8 that was I like this game more than 8 not to mention the made the bomb and blue shell explosion radius smaller to and it’s easier to dodge blue shell not to make the blue shell has its original appearance look to it which is not and it’s not just unfair like in Wii so that’s a huge plus not to mention 7 has better kart drift physics than Wii and mk8 even though it’s just a downgrade of MKW but 10x better than that with physics and 7 it’s a lucky number for the seventh installment

ive been playing my 3DS a lot recently because its modded and generally, i have a lot of games for it. MK7 really is fun and deserves more i think
