Well, I dunno how up you are for modding your Switch or if it's already modded. But there's track replacement mods for MK8DX. I just grabbed one that replaced the original 48 tracks with custom tracks and fan-ports from other MK games. It has a couple of the Arcade tracks. And soon, ish, the mod "CTGP Deluxe" is gonna come out for it that adds even more and does way more stuff Or if you don't mind playing an older MK, there's the mod "Mario Kart Wii Deluxe" that legit has around 800+ tracks, including everything from SNES up to Wii, tons of the Arcade tracks, tracks from other kart racers, and a ton of fully custom tracks. Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS also has a version of CTGP.
DX has a more ambitious Japanese version rather than the version you’ve probably seen at Dave and busters and malls. You can race against player “ghosts” to take over Japan, which also let you save data to a data card
It's bizarre how this is the only Mario Kart (thus far) to think to include something big related to Wario's adventures. Seriously, a Mario Kart that takes advantage of the "larger" Mario universe would be great.
ive played this a few times in my life, its pretty fun and the unique items in the game help to make it fresh, not to mention playable don-chan and pacman
I remembered seeing this arcade cabinet at my local bowling alley from 2005 until about 2009 when it got replaced by Nicktoons Nitro. To date, I find it bizarre to see Pac-Man make an appearance in a Mario Kart game.
20:49 As an SEA WMMT player myself, the "Banana" Passport [BanaPassport] is used for our save progress in WMMT6RR *WMMT6RR+ later this April* (Japan/SEA only) since the game has a ridiculous 100 chapters in story mode, (Story Mode is required for you to tune up your car to max power) so that card is also necessary for MKGPDX too, if you want to keep your TA records in a certain course. *If it the JP version only.*
The fact that Mario Kart GP DX characters have skins instead of taking up extra slots like in Mario Kart 8 DX is INSANE to me. Why does this have that but not one of the mainline games?!
I saw this game at one of the Disney Resorts small arcade area. It caught my eye but didn't have a long time to play as I was mostly just getting a drink at the nearby quick food before heading out to the parks. Seeing Pacman as part of the cast was wild.
Aw, I like Mario Kart Tour. Though I never played it I love it cause you get to travel the world and they have some cool titles for the courses. So I love it. ❤💗
Oh yes I did play these games. They were something I would always look forward to at my local Dave and Busters alongside Daytona USA and Guitar Hero arcade lol
Mario and Pac-Man not being out of place together is true and it makes sense because they were both arcade games when they were first created PAC-Man got his own arcade game and Mario was featured in Arcade Donkey Kong. So those two are nostalgic for the series.
Honorable mention: the new ride Mario Kart Bowsers Challenge at Universal Studios Hollywood uses AR glasses, but has a button to press to throw shells instead of tiring hand flailing 😅
I wish GP DX went all out with the Namco guests. Like, PAC-Man and Don-chan are great, but imagine instead of adding characters like Baby Mario and Baby Peach, they added other guests like Dig Dug, Lloyd from Tales, Klonoa, or even someone from Tekken, that’d be hilarious 😂
I can only hope all 3 games get some love in a hypothetical “Booster Course Pass Vol. 2” with PAC-MAN, Mametchi, Don-Chan and Blinky (maybe PAC-MOM as a Ms. PAC-MAN subsitute) as playable characters It can work considering how Tour courses use the same design philosophy as these games, and Bandai Namco ALSO developing Mario Kart 8, 8 Deluxe, and Tour as a support studio.

Something to note: Most, if not ALL of the tracks from the arcade games, have been fan-ported to other Mario Kart games via modding. Even over in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on my Switch, I have a mod that replaced all the original 48 tracks with custom tracks and fan ports, and it has a couple tracks from the arcade game, like that Asian themed one, and the Taiko track. Mario Kart Wii has a bunch of mods. "Mario Kart Wii Deluxe" is one of the HUGE ones with legitimately like, 800 tracks. Pretty much every track from Super Mario Kart up to Mario Kart Wii. Along with a bunch of Arcade track ports, ports from other kart racers, and a lot of fully custom tracks. CTGP is another popular mod that exists I think for MKWii, but also Mario Kart 7 on 3DS, and soon for 8 Deluxe on Switch. Mods are amazing for someone like myself who actually missed out on most Nintendo consoles between the N64 and Switch, thus missing a bunch of Mario Kart games. Right now, the mod on my Switch is great, I'm loving playing some of these older tracks it adds. But I can't wait for CTGP. Most mods can't add new tracks without replacing some, but CTGP seems to have been able to mod the actual list, so hopefully it has ALL the tracks.
Just to be able to play Mario Kart on a arcade cabinet with a racing wheel makes it worth it. It's a shame the arcade scene outside of Japan is so poor.

As someone who plays Tour regularly, I actually do have fun. I would actually consider it significantly better than both the SNES original and Super Circuit.
To be honest this is the first mario kart game I've ever played. I've never had a Nintendo console and never played a mario kart game. However when I was younger I used to go to a bowling/arcade room that had mario kart. I remember loving it so much that I spent many years trying to play mario kart on my phone (the only device that I had apart from a psp) many years later I discovered consoles' emulation and started playing the snes version
i do love the music for Arcade GP2 (mostly because those songs are extended from the first Arcade GP); you have Mario Beach/Mario Highway, Rainbow Coaster/Rainbow Downhill and the new addition Yoshi Park, all of which are bangers. The Challenge Mode music is pretty great too.
I've managed to play all of these with the actual machines. Tbh I think DX is the only substantially good one. The others are a neat novelty but don't really do anything that well. It would be cool to have the best tracks from the game added to 8 as DLC though. Or just, releasing the games in a collection.
I’ve played Mario Kart Wii, DS, 7, 8, and 8 Deluxe. I’ve also played the Mario Kart 4 Arcade system once and I hope the do it again. But I’ve never played the first Mario kart games or Mario Kart 64, Double Dash, GBA, GCN, SNES, or Tour. But I’m hoping that remaster the courses from those games so I can try them out. And I love the Mario karts series today.
10:06 minus the drift. So good. I got drift after beating Mario Odyssey and making link walk off a cliff after play botw for only 3 hrs. Bs. The virtual boy has more quality assurance.
I have played both arcade Mario Kart arcades (one at Walt Disney World and the other one at the Rec Room). Also I still own my Mario Kart Live: Home Curcuit (I own the Mario one, though I'm thinking of picking up the Luigi car).
I played the second game and I agree steering was a bit of a pain and that announcer was ruthless for me constantly telling me i was being passed and was in dead last.
I work at an arcade, and yeah it suck that the western GPDX machines don't have what the Japan cabinets do. It's literally just one race, and then bam more credits. Regardless if you win or not.

Same here. It introduced me to Super Mario.

The home console versions do have it to where you can play the track backwards.
Its called mirror mode. Its been in the game since the 64.
I rerembered playing this when I was 4 or 5 and it was so much fun! Even though I was bad, I have some fond memories of playing it with my sibling in a mall but I dont know where
I am so glad to hear people talk about Arcade games. GPDX is my favorite.
As someone who plays Tour regularly, I actually do have fun. I would actually consider it significantly better than both the SNES original and Super Circuit.
Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 was a great experience! I wish I had same cabinet In my House!
Play Mario Kart Tour on your phone instead
i do love the music for Arcade GP2 (mostly because those songs are extended from the first Arcade GP); you have Mario Beach/Mario Highway, Rainbow Coaster/Rainbow Downhill and the new addition Yoshi Park, all of which are bangers. The Challenge Mode music is pretty great too.
I go to Dave and Busters every year for my birthday and I make sure to play this every time
I played Arcade GP DX once at some Cineplex theatre in a mall, it was neat, wish I got more out of it, possibly come across it again
lmao I searched your exact video title to see if someone made a video about these arcade games, and I'm glad you did.
Very informative!! I played the 2nd one in an arcade recently, the controls were kind of busted from age and use, but fun regardless!
I had so much fun with the arcade games as a kid lol
I've managed to play all of these with the actual machines. Tbh I think DX is the only substantially good one. The others are a neat novelty but don't really do anything that well. It would be cool to have the best tracks from the game added to 8 as DLC though. Or just, releasing the games in a collection.
I've got a few of the new versions in the arcade/ entertainment centre I work at! It's pretty darn cool. Underrated fr
It would be cool if arcade gp/gpdx tracks were in tour
Tour is such a crappy "game." 😑
@@PhilipMarcYT no
@@PhilipMarcYT Nice joke
No it isn't
I actually played GP before. I did in an arcade on a cruise. By December it will be 10 years since then.
I loved seeing these, whenever I went to an arcade, I PRAYED that these were there!!!
Splash circuit Is literally Mankalor's Official Theme
I have played both arcade Mario Kart arcades (one at Walt Disney World and the other one at the Rec Room). Also I still own my Mario Kart Live: Home Curcuit (I own the Mario one, though I'm thinking of picking up the Luigi car).
Did you know Daisy isn't playable? Yeah, I know, you can only see her in the award ceremony.
I played every mario Kart game including these and that was my childhood (besides double dash)
I played the second game and I agree steering was a bit of a pain and that announcer was ruthless for me constantly telling me i was being passed and was in dead last.
I've been to a mall that has kiosk games. Never went in because going to the mall is something I rarely do. Public areas are getting crazier
I work at an arcade, and yeah it suck that the western GPDX machines don't have what the Japan cabinets do. It's literally just one race, and then bam more credits. Regardless if you win or not.
I unlocked all the F-ZERO AX content in F-ZERO GX without playing the arcade game.
This was my childhood. I played it EVERY TIME I went to the arcade. Was how my best friend and I bonded at first in 2009.
@Aaronitmar I think you would love to know that I am a part of a modding group where we are going to put Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 and 2 on the Nintendo DS, when it releases do you think you would have the time to review it? The name is Mario Kart DS: Ākēdo Grand Prix
