Start with a black logo on a white background. Make a selection of the logo's shape. Invert the selection and press the "Delete" key to delete the white background. Deselect it by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + D.

Another great video, my version of photoshop doesn't have the plus sign next to inner shadow tab, should I make another layer and use that?

Puh-leeze take this as a constructive criticism! I think it could use some specular highlights/highly-polished reflectivity that you see on marble, even in low ambient light. The finished image has more of a non-reflective, matte appearance, no?
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I agree that the surface of the marble could have those qualities. It would if this tutorial was done using PS's 3-D interface.

@@BLTV_Photoshop Yes, I didn't consider the 3D capabilities of PS Extended. I'm still using CS6 and what it can do in 3D has never captured my imagination. Thanks for the thoughts.
