Actually, the Nikon nor any camera brand will fix distortion on 3rd party lenses. So the tamrons distortions wont be fixed in camera. But if you get Lightroom, it had a specific distortion correction for the Tamron 18-270, but it must be in RAW format. It won't correct JPG format. In that case you can just manually adjust it yourself via a slider bar.
I certainly wouldn't buy it if you wanted it for any other purpose than a general purpose travel lens. It does have a quite noticeable distortion at 18mm but I'm quite happy using with its limitations. Horses for courses.

Hi there! I just bought this lens for my Canon EOS 400D... I have a question... since it's the first time I use a lens with stabilizer... Every time I focus, at the very moment I soft press the shutter, the view through the lens shakes a bit before entering the "stabilizing mode", let's say... Is this normal, or does my lens have some kind of mechanic failure...? Thanks!

i got the 16mm - 300mm tamron first lens I ever got...once it got over 5'6 it was really hard to get focus and never really crisp. luck would have it i sold it at a loss. The so really it was bad luck on my part. what would be the three lens you use now that never leave your bag ----well only to use of course. I would be interested after so many reviews the lens you have not sold them on .
I have just bought one of these lenses and its the worst lens i have ever bought. The picture quality and focusing is terrible ie soft in all camera settings. I belive there has been a lot of quality issues with this lens and people sending them back to get them re calibrated. I would advice any one wanting to buy one try before you buy one and test it to make sure it works ok.

Yes the lens has a built in motor so it will work with your Nikon D3200.

yes, they are soft!!! good for portrait or video for softening faces..thats all.
