Fiji was and will always be my home in spite of the fact that I live here in the US and have been for a long time. This brings back memories of my early childhood.
This aspect of our culture is very much intact till this day. With the waves of modernization trying to wipeout this heritage, we hold firm to it as proud indigenous people of our land, Viti or universally known as Fiji🇫🇯🇫🇯
At 3:59, is there a mutual respect when Elizabeth is on her knees in England, presenting a gifts to a visiting/seated Chief/Chieftess of Fiji? Let's reverse the roles
Okay. I agree with you but, that's the way that the world knows fiji, the person next to you is very important cos you don't know maybe from god or angels. Our Polynesian ancestors should know this. I'm indigenous Fijian living in Aussie 4 long time n its inside me, I can't take it away. It's like a car has been built in. But, don't put me wrong, if they don't respect me, I will kick their ass.
@@nikeeddie9430 my statement means that the video shows we give alot of respect, acknowledgement and gracefully accept the presence of others...and Fiji is not alone, they have their neighbours doing the same.
The land the fishing ground are sold to the British monarchy by Ratu Sukuna without the knowledge of Itaukei Christian chief and the people. Conman leadership and still counting..
Usaia Gaunavou I agree with Johnny K that it’s lame that Pacific Islanders have to bow to a white creature such as Elizabeth. Pacific Islands for Pacific Islanders
@@MrYougotcaught For your information, the British Monarch has done so much for Fiji which you do not know of. This is why we love and respect the Monarchy. This Love reciprocates itself in so many ways which only we in Fiji know. Please take your views elsewhere, it does not apply to Fiji and Fijians.
@@MrYougotcaught Queen Elizabeth was the Queen of Fiji when our High Chiefs freely ceded our islands to the Monarch for her protection. Surely, back then our high chiefs were loyal subjects to her, as are all Fijians. When you do the maths, surely a leader will not bow down to her subjects but the other way around. When I say reciprocate, I mean that the way that they ruled the colony of Fiji was for the protection of the culture and way of life of the Indigenous people - the Fijian people. Our Cultures, traditions, Social, traditional political system was preserved and enhanced. Our land was given back to us during Independence and every tribe has ownership of their communal land allotments. Fijians have also been recruited to the British Army and the British Navy. This is how it's reciprocated. That is why you see in the video the reason the Queen is accorded real Fijian ceremonial welcome accorded to High Chiefs. Hope that's clearer.
It is unbelievably amazing how a wee island can capture and reprogramme pretty much the entire world.
I love knowing how beautiful my culture is.😍

That is Fijian culture. Are you complaining?
Polynesia's give too much acknowledgement to others. My opinion!
