These guys should get Legends or Core Class remakes, and instead of their original gimmicks just come with modern day blast effects.

I know the transformations were pretty simple back then, but you have to admit that for the target audience at the time it encouraged kids to use a lot of imagination just thinking of how they could be. That's part of the reason I have an affinity for original G1 toys . Sometimes it's more fun not to have everything well defined for you.

I had never ever heard of firecons, or sparkobots. I think growing up in French Canada is the reason. We had some english channel, but in Quebec we had laws against advertising to kids, so the commercial were not known to me. Great little gimmick, I can see the playability for younger kids. Fun stuff. Thanks for making me discover these guys! Awesome review as usual, Sir!

With each G1 review I see on this channel, my childhood heart takes another blow as my memory of how cool and intricate these toys were in my memory is dashed by the reality of just how lame some of these figures were back in the day.
G1 will always have a special place in my heart, but my desire to go G1 figure hunting to build what once was my dream collection has long since passed by.
I really am just spoiled by the level of engineering we get with the modern figures at this point.

I had a Sparkstalker when I was a little guy, ages ago. Used'im as a stand-in for Gigan against my Imperial China Godzilla figure sometimes because Sparkstalker and Gigan look so dang similar it always struck me as odd. Then I realized whoever designed Sparkstalker back in the G-1 days might have been inspired by Gigan's design.

Born in late October 1973 I grew up with G1 and like you when these hit the shelves all I cared about was girls and skateboarding.
Nowadays I look at my shelves filled with G1 masterpiece and ko mps and think good gawd man if I could have looked into the future back when I was eleven and seen things like earthrise I'd have flipped out for sure.
Back at age eleven or so my friends and I would turn the living room and my bedroom into a battlefield during summer vacation. The Autobot base was in the living room and the cons got the bedroom. We'd set up our bases and then let each other check out what we came up with. And when mom came home the Decepticons would have taken over most of the living room and robotic corpses would be strewn about the house. Seekers tied to ceiling fan blades (I got in trouble over that) Missiles behind couches and all!

I've always had a soft spot for the Firecons.
I always thought Sparkstalker would be a good name for the Cybertronian equivalent of the Grim Reaper.
    Always enjoy your reviews.

Finding these in the condition you have them is tough I had to upgrade sparkstalker once and will need to upgrade my cindersaur eventually . Glad to see some g1 back on the channel. Great review and as bad as these are I love these toys lol

Sparkstalkers curved-spike-arms and 4-point-mouth-beak is very much like Gigan from Godzilla. I wonder if Gigan may have been an inspiration for him. My favorite one though is Flamefeather. I remember having Flamefeather as a kid.

Good call, I always thought he looked familiar...just never placed it.

I have a g1 guzzle and he works like he was brand new. I don't know where I got him probably at a thrift store years ago in one of the bags of toys but it was a lucky find

I know I had one of these guys but forget which. I wanna say it was Sparkstalker. Ouch what a way to go.
Its funny how one of these guys got an update in PotP I believe. Repainted Slash if recall right. (Watch the vid before comment J. 😅)
Think Flamefeather kinda helped the creator of the Tremors franchise a little on the Graboid design?
A new update for this trip shoukd have some flame effect variety packed with them.

I love Sparkstalker so much. Because of the IDW comics where he was married to Lightbright.

Excellent review, brother! Never had, nor wanted these guys, but it's ALWAYS fun to enjoy a good G1 review for figures I'd otherwise ignore. The PotP Cindersaur is probably the closest I'll ever come to owning these guys until/UNLESS Hasbro decides to modernize them...
And speaking of modernizing the Firecons... I could easily see these guys being retooled for the TR Monsterbots/Buzzworthy Fangry mold and sold as a quick 3-pk and DONE! I'd definitely buy them up... EVEN if they were Headmasters, lol.
However, I think the Monster heads could easily be molded to leave space to cover a permanent head placement WITHOUT being forced into the Headmaster gimmick. Simple enough for Hasbro to sculpt a headmaster port with a ball joint for head attachment, and glue it in place, so that articulation is unfettered and the beast head comes down OVER the now permanent bot head.
Will they? Eh, who knows?! It's f**king Hasbro...🤔🤔🤔

I remember having the Autobot tank dude. Fun little guys but yeah, not so great in the "Transformers" department LOL!
    Awesome video brother!

Good ole Guzzle, after shooting this I guess I'm gonna have to dig out the Sparkabots.

Those look like they’re very rare. They do look cool. They look just as small as the McDonald’s Changeables from their Happy Meal.

Great review, love these guys in their simplicity! Do wish we'd get some updated core class versions of them. Oh and they DID get some screentime as well, but that was in the Super God Masterforce cartoon from Japan.
(Btw, not sure you noticed but be careful with your Flamefeather, looks like the white plastic on the robot belly has cracked where the arm/wing hinge is situated?!)

I had the blue one, flame feather, when I was a kid....still have it, but that is the only one and back then I had zero clue about who he was or anything about them, due to them not being in the cartoon.

What is this “outgrown Transformers” concept you speak of?
