Pointblank had only one line in Rebirth ("How? By thinkin' good thoughts?"), but yeah, he didn't leave as much of an impression as Crosshairs and Sureshot did (at least for me). The voice did sound pretty fitting for someone as grim as Pointblank (since he's described like that in the tech spec), which again, I feel is another thing that I like about G1, they tried to give even characters with just one line an ounce of personality through the voice performance. Really nice tutorial on sticker replacement and it doesn't even damage the toy at all. It's always great to see you at work restoring these figures. :)
Never thought I'd seek out a Transformers review and be highly compelled by watching the equivalent of somebody dishwashing toys. Very good double review.
Point blank was the only Autobot targetmaster i owned. His car and robot mode appealed the most to me so i bought him. Underrated and unappreciated....one of my personal faves.
FANTASTIC REVIEW PATRIOT PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D It always amazes me watching how much of an improvement stickers do for Transformers toys. :D Keep up the amazing work you do, Double Thumb's Up. ;D
What a great looking bot! I don’t really collect G1 but would love to see this guy pop up in one the Generations lines! I love all the classic toys even though they have hardly any articulation! Keep it up brother!!
Great review, Patriot Prime. I love the cover art for that Headmasters comic book you showed in the beginning. It was cool to see your restoration process from start to finish. I really hope that ToyHax is hooking you up with the occasional free sticker sheet for all of this awesome advertising. Cheers M
Great video Patriot Prime! I was excited to come home and watch this, especially since it is a G1 Transformer. It was cool to see your restoration process on Pointblank. I need to look into buying some Goo Gone because it would save me some time on sticker application preparation. My restoration process is more tedious than it should be. Anyways, I would love to see more videos like this. Keep up the great work!
Glad I could find your review of G1 pointblank. I’m currently reviewing the legacy version and I wanted to know if the targetmaster could sit inside the car mode. I thought they could. I was wrong. this review helped me. Thanks PPR
Awesome review Patriot Prime! I never knew they made a spray bottle Goo Gone. Thats a game changer for sure. Did same combo on the MUSCLE figs I scored at a thrift store years back. Saw a ton of G1 that day too but no basket or cart handy so just took the hand of muscles. Most what I saw were figs I had. Wish got anyway now and why bring up I think saw this guy in the bins in about same shape. Know saw a yellow autobot targetmaster back then.
Another awesome G1 review, and a bonus Toyhax review too! Double score! Bonus! Always enjoy both types of these vids, brother! Hopefully, we'll get an updated Pointblank before much longer, along with a Slapdash, to round out the G3 updates. Then we'll just need a "Battlemaster" 10pk set to get the existing versions fully armed with their corresponding Targetmaster weapons. (Ohhh, Damn! Did I just say that out loud? After all the freaking exclusive $#!t Hasbro is already slamming us with this year?! My bad.) 🙄 Anyway, great job on the "How to" portion, as well. A lot of people don't realize some of the steps involved with prepping figures for refurbishing or customizing. I'm sure that helped a lot. Hooo-ah!
Lol we clean up our tfs almost the same way, I use isopropyl alcohol to remove sticker grime (only if it's on a non painted surface) great vid brother! I liked seeing your process for restoration my friend! \m/
Much respect to you big bro. I appreciate all you sacrificed for our great nation. You are a hero. And you're into transformers..double coolness. Keep up the great work.
No problem. I can't collect anymore. I got 2 figs left. Due to my lifestyle and I'm on fixed income. But watching your reviews makes life better and brings back fond memories of my childhood
Awesome review/restoration/sticker video. I have seen those "black specks" before, some on figures I have own since the 80's. One that comes to mind is Nightbeat which I have had since 1988. I have looked online once to find out what they are, someone somewhere once said it was mold within the plastic. It happens a lot to the Pretenders, especially the softer plastic used on the shells, like the arms, which reminds me my Cloudburst also has the "black specks". Don't know if the mold theory is correct, but it is something I have seen on my older figures. The Pretender Monsters shell seems to have them as well. Anyways I hope this helps a little, and again I really enjoyed this review because I love Targetmasters and Pointblank is one of my favorites that I don't own. The new stickers look so awesome on him.
These specks had texture to them so they're not like the one's Pretenders get. Plus they were also on the old decals which make me think they were paint specks.
best way to get stickers off is to soak a small piece of paper towel (i prefer double or triple folded) in lighter fluid, place the soaked paper towel on the stickers in question, and then wait for the lighter fluid to evaporate. the sticker should slide off after that (you can even reuse them if you want), if they don't, just repeat the process until they do. doesn't hurt the figure or the stickers. i've recently replaced the stickers on my g1 toys from childhood, as well as my housemates g1 childhood toys, and, on my toys, the stickers made a massive difference (apeface, weird wolf). my housemates toys (glavartron, landfill, horri-bull, fangry wreck-gar, cosmos), on the other hand, were in no where near as good a condition as mine - his were kept in open bins in his basement, whereas mine have been in sealed boxes since childhood.. i had to de-yellow horri-bull & galvatron, rebuild some of the ratchet mechanisms on galvatron, fix some breakage on wreck-gar & disassemble them all completely, before giving them a wicked good cleaning. i then put them back together and gave them new stickers. now they are straight-up showpieces. glavatron alone took nearly ten hours of work to fix up.
Wow, for futue reference you can just get some Ronson lighter fluid and it will remove all the old sticker residue and that will prevent any water rusting old pins and screws too.
My dear friend. If I could. As an alternative to using your nails have you considered using a plastic card (old credit card or points card) to remove some of the heavier goop off after goo gone? I find it saves your nails a bit of injury. Just a suggestion. Great review and instructional vid bro!
In my fanfic Pointblank was an ordinary Autobot grunt until he was captured by the Syripteans, a serpent like race who enjoyed putting their abductees through torturous experiments. He spent several eons in their hellish custody, getting torn apart, reassembled, torn apart, reassembled, etc. He was finally freed by a commando unit lead by Kup shortly before the Hate Plague Event occurred, ending G.W. with neither side winning. These days Pointblank oversees the Fleshstrippers, anti-organic hate group who commit various atrocities upon fleshling races throughout the galaxy. Membership is extensive, including: Bots, Cons, Neutrals & even Star Seekers. Their main rallying cry is an appropriated Decepticon catchphrase:"Flesh Gotta Fry."
Dude i had point blank when i was a kid. I keep hoping for a new one (we got crosshairs) and am eternally upset I missed out on Contactshot. I actually really enjoyed season 4 but will always be sad they didn't get more episodes to show off a lot more characters.
Gotta give them a fig bath that's standard for me if they're in need I use lighter fluid to remove stickers it evaporates and doesn't leave the fig greasy
I hope Hasbro still has the copy-right to the names Pointblank and Peacemaker. Some of the replacement names for figures are terrible. (what the heck is a Shrute?! )
Maybe I can help here... A "Shrute" is a comedic "tool", aka prick, that appeared on the TV series, "The Office"... (Dwight Shrute). 😅😅😅 Beyond that... Who knows what a "Shrute" even is/does...? Probably not even Hasbro...most likely just threw a dart and it landed on that, somehow. 🙄🤔🙄🙄🙄
They are replicas, there are a few G1 sets that have some extra decals that were not included with the G1 toy. For example, their G1 Mindwipe set came with eye decals.
He had one line I believe maybe one line for peacemaker......OH God Jason get ready to poke your eyes out if you are going to watch Headmasters. I twas very painful to watch. Same goes with Masterforce. Victory felt like a G1 transformers series.

4:30 The spots from the toy spread to your table! It's contagious! Quarantine! Quarantine!
LOL!!!
That's my 1970's kitchen Countertop. All the work we've done on our house and the wife's never mentioned changing that.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews Lol!
@@PatriotPrimeReviews Btw, thanks for sharing. I really appreciated seeing your cleaning process (at least this part of it).
My absolute favorite G1 Autobot Targetmaster!!! Still have mine!!!

Interesting fact: Both Pointblank & Crosshairs were voiced by Neil Ross, the voice of Springer & Slag

Very good double review.

Very underated, I never realized how much until I did my research on him.

Fantastic way it looks at the end dude and I never knew that's how toyhax started out
My favorite Targetmaster!!! Awesome review and overhaul my brother!
Thank you. Congratulations on your 1,700 Subs.

No, but they do feature some of my reviews on their site.
I think if they did an Update of this figure they could probably Rework the POTP punch counter punch (you said it later in the video haha)
Love the G1 reviews!
Good review brotha!
Nice restoration video, mate!! Pointblank's got a rather unique transformation for a G1 figure!!
That he does.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews, yep.
Beautiful figure!
Very good video. Loved the cleaning segment.
I remember getting them on my birthday that October 87 and still have them in my collection
Oh you know what, if you put a tiny Autobot insignia on his shield, it looks awesome when he's holding it.
You...are right!

Goo Gone is a God send, just get the Gel.

Thanks buddy, I've been asked to do that a few times.
he had a bigger role in headmasters was 1 of my favorites in that series
15:43 What figure did you make that custom targetmaster out of? And could you make a video going over the changes you made to it?

@@PatriotPrimeReviews Oh I see, it was hard to see in the video that they had texture to them. :)
I just re-watched the video and noticed the ones you pointed out on the original stickers.
I wish they'd give us a new version of this guy. They already did crosshairs

I have never thought of that, thanks, I'll give that a try next time.
You should do all the G1 targetmasters.
This makes my 7th. I did all the smaller (2 Weapon) Targetmasters back in October.
Yes I said I was excited but my notifications are weird right now but I’m watching it now

Baby wipes come in handy as well, when you're removing the "schmutz".
The little black spot might be mold degradation. it happens. Good review upgrade
These specks had texture to them so I don't think it was that.
Plus they were also on the old decals which make me think they were paint specks.
Mine is missing the spoiler but I got it in good condition and I got it pretty cheap
Can you please do the large Autobot and Decepticon targetmasters please.
That's what I'm working on.

This was very informative! How do you handle rust on a Transformer, Patriot Prime?
Usually replace the part, or soak the offending piece in Apple Cider Vinegar.
Is Peacemaker blast-effect-compatible?
I'll have to check
Patriot Prime, are G1 Toyhax labels replicas of the original stickers, or upgrades? That's one thing that isn't clear to me. Thanks!
They are replicas, there are a few G1 sets that have some extra decals that were not included with the G1 toy.
For example, their G1 Mindwipe set came with eye decals.
Master patriot i got some good news for you there is a rumor abour a new pointblank for the legacy line in maybe deluxe or voyager size
Looks like a color swapped counterpunch
I hear about Headmasters cartoons serier from Japan
