    Point blank was the only Autobot targetmaster i owned. His car and robot mode appealed the most to me so i bought him. Underrated and unappreciated....one of my personal faves.

    Pointblank had only one line in Rebirth ("How? By thinkin' good thoughts?"), but yeah, he didn't leave as much of an impression as Crosshairs and Sureshot did (at least for me). The voice did sound pretty fitting for someone as grim as Pointblank (since he's described like that in the tech spec), which again, I feel is another thing that I like about G1, they tried to give even characters with just one line an ounce of personality through the voice performance.
    Really nice tutorial on sticker replacement and it doesn't even damage the toy at all. It's always great to see you at work restoring these figures. :)

    Another awesome G1 review, and a bonus Toyhax review too! Double score! Bonus!
    Always enjoy both types of these vids, brother! Hopefully, we'll get an updated Pointblank before much longer, along with a Slapdash, to round out the G3 updates. Then we'll just need a "Battlemaster" 10pk set to get the existing versions fully armed with their corresponding Targetmaster weapons. (Ohhh, Damn! Did I just say that out loud? After all the freaking exclusive $#!t Hasbro is already slamming us with this year?! My bad.) 🙄
    Anyway, great job on the "How to" portion, as well. A lot of people don't realize some of the steps involved with prepping figures for refurbishing or customizing. I'm sure that helped a lot.
    Hooo-ah!

    Great video Patriot Prime! I was excited to come home and watch this, especially since it is a G1 Transformer. It was cool to see your restoration process on Pointblank. I need to look into buying some Goo Gone because it would save me some time on sticker application preparation. My restoration process is more tedious than it should be. Anyways, I would love to see more videos like this. Keep up the great work!

    Awesome review Patriot Prime!
    I never knew they made a spray bottle Goo Gone. Thats a game changer for sure. Did same combo on the MUSCLE figs I scored at a thrift store years back. Saw a ton of G1 that day too but no basket or cart handy so just took the hand of muscles. Most what I saw were figs I had. Wish got anyway now and why bring up I think saw this guy in the bins in about same shape. Know saw a yellow autobot targetmaster back then.

    best way to get stickers off is to soak a small piece of paper towel (i prefer double or triple folded) in lighter fluid, place the soaked paper towel on the stickers in question, and then wait for the lighter fluid to evaporate. the sticker should slide off after that (you can even reuse them if you want), if they don't, just repeat the process until they do. doesn't hurt the figure or the stickers.
    i've recently replaced the stickers on my g1 toys from childhood, as well as my housemates g1 childhood toys, and, on my toys, the stickers made a massive difference (apeface, weird wolf). my housemates toys (glavartron, landfill, horri-bull, fangry wreck-gar, cosmos), on the other hand, were in no where near as good a condition as mine - his were kept in open bins in his basement, whereas mine have been in sealed boxes since childhood.. i had to de-yellow horri-bull & galvatron, rebuild some of the ratchet mechanisms on galvatron, fix some breakage on wreck-gar & disassemble them all completely, before giving them a wicked good cleaning. i then put them back together and gave them new stickers. now they are straight-up showpieces. glavatron alone took nearly ten hours of work to fix up.

    Awesome review/restoration/sticker video.
    I have seen those "black specks" before, some on figures I have own since the 80's. One that comes to mind is Nightbeat which I have had since 1988. I have looked online once to find out what they are, someone somewhere once said it was mold within the plastic. It happens a lot to the Pretenders, especially the softer plastic used on the shells, like the arms, which reminds me my Cloudburst also has the "black specks".
    Don't know if the mold theory is correct, but it is something I have seen on my older figures.
    The Pretender Monsters shell seems to have them as well.
    Anyways I hope this helps a little, and again I really enjoyed this review because I love Targetmasters and Pointblank is one of my favorites that I don't own.
    The new stickers look so awesome on him.

    • @PatriotPrimeReviews
      @PatriotPrimeReviews  5 лет назад +1

      These specks had texture to them so they're not like the one's Pretenders get.
      Plus they were also on the old decals which make me think they were paint specks.

      @MichaelAlexKawa 5 лет назад

    In my fanfic Pointblank was an ordinary Autobot grunt until he was captured by the Syripteans, a serpent like race who enjoyed putting their abductees through torturous experiments. He spent several eons in their hellish custody, getting torn apart, reassembled, torn apart, reassembled, etc. He was finally freed by a commando unit lead by Kup shortly before the Hate Plague Event occurred, ending G.W. with neither side winning. These days Pointblank oversees the Fleshstrippers, anti-organic hate group who commit various atrocities upon fleshling races throughout the galaxy. Membership is extensive, including: Bots, Cons, Neutrals & even Star Seekers. Their main rallying cry is an appropriated Decepticon catchphrase:"Flesh Gotta Fry."

    My dear friend. If I could. As an alternative to using your nails have you considered using a plastic card (old credit card or points card) to remove some of the heavier goop off after goo gone? I find it saves your nails a bit of injury. Just a suggestion. Great review and instructional vid bro!

      They are replicas, there are a few G1 sets that have some extra decals that were not included with the G1 toy.
      For example, their G1 Mindwipe set came with eye decals.

      Beyond that... Who knows what a "Shrute" even is/does...? Probably not even Hasbro...most likely just threw a dart and it landed on that, somehow. 🙄🤔🙄🙄🙄
