Looks good, basically an adaption of foaming sealants we use in the commercial car wash industry.

How would you compare Poly Gloss to Hydro Foam?

Not impressed with this product at all. Tried it in a foam gun attached to a hose and just added it to a bucket of water. Didn’t dwell long and hardly any suds at all.

Not only did you showed us how to foam with a pump sprayer, but also how to make a great detailer from a sealant. Thank you. And thank GG for their water-soluble products.

Thanks for demonstrating this! I love mine and have used it on a few different cars, coated, waxed and completely unprotected. The unprotected car went a solid 2 months in the PA summer, outside in the elements and it's still holding on surprisingly well. The car with the sealant (wolfgang 3.0) has gone 3 months and it's still protecting. The black paint garage queen definitely took on some additional shine and gloss after application. One thing that stood out to me was the anti-static properties. I do notice the garage kept car doesn't get as dusty as it did previously sitting for weeks at a time. The ultimate test for anti-static will be the Spring time pollen!

Looked for a video w/ this Griot's product, new to me. It's one of the products recommended by my detailer who did our ceramic coating. Excellent step by step, great tip for making your own detail spray w/it also. THX!

Just used it yesterday. I like the fact that if gloss up the grill, etc. But what I like best is the anti static properties, keeping dust and pollen off the car.

This system is the absolute bomb. Especially the surface wash. You could clearly SEE it encapsulating the dirt. So awesome. Poly gloss has fantastic hydrophobic properties and extremely easy to use.

Used this stuff for the first time last week. Put it over top Wolfgang sealant and made my white Porsche pop like I've never seen a white car do. Seems like it has minor filling abilities too. Only thing I noticed was that when using the windshield wipers, a line formed on the window where the wiper stops, like it pushed the coating off the window. This stuff will be great to use in the winter, plus no extra touching means less swirls.

7:14 Why do you say “Grab a 32oz spray bottle” when you’re clearly using a 16-20oz spray bottle? Do you still recommend adding a 1/2oz to that sized bottle?

  • @klasseact6663
    @klasseact6663 5 лет назад +1

How did you get ahold of the smaller bottles, they're on BO! I've been told sometime next month, its killing me as I've been a Griot's customer since 2005. When I do get the product I'll be using that same IK Foam 9 as I live in an apartment.
Thank you for a great review Brian, I really appreciate it!

I know this video is from a while ago but I've been recently going through some of the Griot's product offerings. In a Q&A on Griots website someone asked about it being used as a drying aid. Their response was that it was not designed to be used in a spray bottle. Where did you come up with the 1/2 oz. measurement and how did you figure out it could be used as a drying aid? Griot's also now sells their Brilliant Finish Foam-On Wax which seems similar to this but maybe more for the DIY guy. Your thoughts?

If you don't have a foam gun/cannon the IK line works quite well. I use both the smaller one and the 9. I mainly use the smaller one for my wheels but have used it with car soap as well. I IK9 when full can do 2 cars producing nice foam, but not like a pressure washer and foam gun. As long as your expectations are around 7-8 out of 10 you won't be disappointed.
      Hope this helps.

Does it's add a shine to plastic trim, wheel wells ? Some poly products will give trim a darker look. ????

my username probably detracts from the credibility from my argument but here is my experience.
the gloss, definitely noticeable. It definitely adds hydrophobia on top of sealants. I think of it as a wax that can be applied via foam cannon. My reasoning for this is because on the windshield, when the wipers are used you can see lines forming as if the wiperblades moved the polygloss out of the area. Also, it leaves the paint feeling very slick just like a wax would. My only gripe with polygloss is that it does not seem to last more than two weeks. Ive tried it on bare paint, a car with reload and another with cquartz uk and on all three cars it seems to have disappeared (loss of water repellency, loss of gloss, loss of slick feeling).

Hey unrelated to the video question, but Was wondering if i could use Sonax perfect finish with a Meguiars polishing/finishing pad and get the same results as if i were using Rupes yellow pad?

@@apexdetail85 I'm my testing, I found the chemical guys dirt traps have a design flaw.
While they do a good job of trapping debris underneath it, it's top surface is actually mostly flat, so a lot of debris will also rest on top.
My current system is a traditional grit guard with washboard on top of the chemical guys dirt trap and thah works beautifully. The detail guards does have be enticed though.
