Loving the system. I hold a wash seminar/hands-on demo each month for the clients that had their cars coated by me the previous month. This is the system I show them for the weekly wash. I show them how to use the surface prep only when the car is really dirty and even then to use it in the spray bottle 10:1 like an APC on road grime, bug guts, etc. Since it is ph 14, it might strip off old waxes, but not stuff that has been recently applied. If your car has good hydrophobics, Surface Prep is not going to remove it. And it does not hurt ceramic coatings. The Surface Wash is my favorite soap by a mile. I have tried over 60 other brands and this soap if used right is absolutely the best "touchless" wash I know of. If you spray it using the Griot's Boss Cannon, when the paint is cool to the touch and out of the sun, this foam will dwell for a long time. First, after turning the knob to max foam, then back it off 1/2 to 3/4 turn and spray away. The key to this soap is that if you let it dwell for ten minutes and then rinse, well, for the most part, you WILL have a very clean car. It even helps with road grime like pretreating it with an APC. If you spray it on and it only last 3-5 min, then respray, but make it go 10 plus minutes and you will fall in love with this stuff. The skin layer of foam is a real cleaner and the heavy or water-bearing foam is a great asset. After I rinse it, it is ready to be dried with a leaf blower. I recommend a normal maintenance wash, when the car isn't very dirty, to wash it this way. Here in California, with our hot and dry summers, I typically tell them to wash their cars with just the Surface Wash for the first three weeks of the month without any "Contact" washing. Then, once a month, on the fourth wash, I have them contact wash after using the surface wash, rinse it and see how dirty it still is. If needed then foam it with the Surface Prep and use your mitt in your soap bucket for contact wash. Again let the Surface Prep dwell for at least 5 min. Rarely will mine last that long so after a few minutes I respray, let it set for a minute, then start the contact wash. Rinse and then foam it with your Poly Shine. Great system with great results. I have since updated my wash glass with McKees Hydro Graphen spray after the final rinse. I love that stuff!
@@DetailingBreakdown I've been looking and the freight is a killer to send to Australia, and I'm starting my Detailing business this would be amazing in my arsenal👍
Sure, top the coating with Polyseal. In this video I’m using my AR Blue Max electric PW. But I also use a gas Subaru PW as well in many other videos. Appreciate you watching!!
I've always heard good things about griots but have never tried one of their products. the one I find interesting is their new ceramic detailer.. good video showcase..
The only thing I have from Griot's is the 3 in 1 ceramic wax, but this system looks great for those days were the car needs to be washed, but I don't want to commit my morning. I'm probably exaggerating, but this does look like a quick system to use.
Nice video Benji. That looks like a really nice set up. I'm definitely going to get that entire set. I really like the fact you can pop that cannon piece right onto their bottles. That is a really nice feature. I also like the fact it has a wide mouth on the cannon bottle to help in diluting other products and helping with not spilling as much without a funnel. Just a very well thought out system. I do have their foaming prep wash already. I got that for helping to break down and remove waxes/sealants after your video on the product a while back. That foaming poly gloss is interesting. It's the only spray and seal product I have ever seen that FOAMS? That's unusual. Could you also rub that Poly Gloss in as well for extra or complete coverage? It seems different than other spray and seal products which you spray and immediately rinse off with high pressure for maximum effectiveness. You let Poly Gloss sit on the surface for a bit before rinsing? After viewing this video, you've got me again! LOL I want the whole set up now!! I feel that wallet going down again.
The cannon is convenient with the multiple bottles it fits on. I should try others not from Griot’s. The wide mouth is great and it has the steel ball so u always get liquid at any angle. True about the Foaming Poly Gloss. Manett’s has a foaming sealant as well that is very similar but those are the only 2 I know of. I suppose u could rub it in. U don’t want it to dry though. I’ve never had any streaks with it as well. Seems to work well the way it’s made to be used. Of course, we think outside the box and want to push boundaries. 😂
@@DetailingBreakdown Yeah I was just curious about rubbing it in but if it works the way it's designed, i'm good with that. Plus, that's easier. I was just wondering about the coverage but it's just a quick sealant anyway and you know me, my car has some serious sealant on it anyway so the Griots Foaming Poly Gloss would be more of a "topper" to the existing protection. The foaming part is just interesting to me. What's the purpose of the foam part? Other than to disperse the product maybe. I am going to get me one of these kits very soon. It looks pretty good. And I would be interested to see if other companies bottles would work on that system as well. Especially since it's got that self dispersing tip system with the metal ball that slips down into the bottle. I guess that tip system would work on other products as well if they would screw onto the foam cannon itself. Test it out, i'd be interested to know if it works or not.
@@joevanseeters2873 u could always just fill the Griots bottles with different products and reuse them that way. I think the foam is supposed to stall it on the paint and let it soak in, basically giving it time to adhere or do whatever it does.
@@DetailingBreakdown Great point. I didn't even think of that. BRILLIANT once again! LOL. Yeah, that's a really good point, just reuse and relabel the bottles for whatever product you want.

Very cool, of you to show your clients this one. Its a well thought out system from Griot’s.
Doesn't the first wash ruin coatings? Specifically designed to take coatings off
I got the kit, then realized the strip wash in the kit was $40, so i went with basic and will pick up the strip wash separate for $20
Yes, u gotta do it the best way it fits for your situation.

That Poly gloss is some great stuff. Makes my whole block smell like strawberries 🍓
I didn’t notice that. I’ll have to ask my neighbors. Haha
Can polyseal be used on a coated car? Also, what type of power washer are you using? New to the channel and love all of your videos.

After all these steps would I still clay bar before waxing ?
Definitely, for best results
Don't use the gloss, use it after clay bar
