    Great video Phil. For Griots Foaming Surface wash the recommended dilution ratio is 2 oz (1.6 oz for Boss Foam Cannon). At 2 oz that’s $0.81 per wash for a gal. $1.18 per wash for 35 oz at $21.67.
    I’ve used numerous top brand soaps/“foaming soaps” (not your V2 yet), and Foaming Surface Wash is the only one I’ve experienced visibly increase the ability to remove dirt/debris/bugs with a pressure washer. Think post road trip, road grime/bug/rain filth.
    For reference, both of my vehicles are ceramic coated and washed weekly to bi-weekly.
    I’m sharing my experience for whatever it’s worth. My comment is in regard to a pre-wash foam soap being used for self cleansing purposes. Not a contact wash soap.

    All you need is 1.5 oz of soap mixed with 14.5 oz of water to get perfect foam, no matter what soap you are using. Spent months perfecting this ratio. Also gives you the perfect amount of liquid to do an entire car and even have some leftover. 4oz of soap is a huge waste of product, not economical. I bought a gallon of the foaming surface wash over 2 years ago and I still havnt used the whole gallon yet.

    I love the Griot's three step "foaming" products for their BOSS Foam Cannon. The Foaming Surface Prep (a great pre-wash), the Foaming Surface Wash (very lubricating and thick foam making your mitt slide effortlessly across the paintwork), and then the Foaming Poly Gloss at the end (which is similar to Gyeon Wet Coat or something like that although it's different in the fact you let it sit on the paint for about 10 minutes until it starts running in lines or streaks down the paint, and then you pressure washer it off. The BOSS specific chemicals (the three step system) is a great system for a TOUCHLESS wash system. I use it for "in between" wash sessions when a bucket wash or rinseless wash isn't needed. Works great for a quick touchless wash session. I can normally do the entire process in about 30 minutes with the set up, doing the actual wash, and then putting my chemicals and equipment away. It's not my only way of washing a vehicle, but it's certainly a good method for a quick touchless wash. The Griot's BOSS Foam Cannon is still my all time favorite foam cannon. I hope Griot's continues to sell the BOSS Foam cannon for a long time to come because I use mine all the time. If it ever broke, while there are hundreds of options for a foam cannon now days, the BOSS uses those propietary metering tips, a function that no other foam cannon that I know of in the current market that has anything like the metering tips and that inner threaded barrel that Griot's uses on their BOSS foam cannon. I use mine with the metering tips with the chemical bottle hooked up to the inner threaded barrel on the cannon, which believe it or not, SAVES YOU PRODUCT. It draws right off the metering tip, installed in the bottom of the draw tube inside the cannon, with the exact amount I need before moving on to the next chemical. I don't waste any chemical at all through pre-mixing or having more product left over in the foam cannon bottle at the end of the wash session. That's just my way of doing it. Thanks again for sharing your expertise Phil.

      hi John post your results here when yo try it this week on your car. The foam cleans awesome the only dislike I seem to keep finding is it does strip the finish of the car quite a bit if you have protection on it. We noticed this on ceramic coated cars and non ceramic coated cars this is the only negative we noticed so keep an eye on that after you finish the wash

I also have used Griots Garage Foaming Surface Wash and poly gloss. After trying the brilliant surface wash, I didn’t care for the low foam production. Now onto my main comment, waiting on your to review Bilt-Hamber Touchless and Auto-foam on your channel. I've NEVER used a better pre-wash in my life. It's basically the same price as Griot's Garage foaming surface wash w/ a 13 & 12 pH. It's only available in the U.S. @ The Clean Garage😉

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Год назад +1

      I would never ever ever use any product with a PH of 12-13 this will cause all premature corrosion on suspension and brake finishes and hardware if not rinsed off well and over long term. Of course it works well that PH is actually considered caustic and HAZMAT FYI and any PH from 12 and above is legally supposed to require special shipping and handling and is considered HAZMAT look this up. I went down this road years ago learning about this stuff when developing our product line with my independent chemists.

Bilt hambers touchless and autofoam in my mind are the equivalent of using a high alkaline APC. Something I'd only use on a Decon / prep
