My mom always wanted me to listen to christian songs. I thought all christian songs were old school and slow and not modern. But when I saw this, I now love listening to his songs all day long.

If you don’t think this song goes straight to the heart, think of this. Over the last six years, I have battled cancer while working, raising my kids and trying to live out what Christ ultimately has for me. This last battle recently included a brain tumor discovered in March (2015) after nearly crashing my car following a seizure that came on while I was driving. Today I’m still surviving and thriving in God’s hands. But, this battle is way "beyond me.” I am in the "fight of my life," but still feel the peace of almighty God. Agreed. My Grandfather has been battling cancer the past two years, he was actually supposed to not be here this time last year, but he's still here, stronger than ever. And I've personally been battling pornography and lust the past two years as well, this has become one of my favorites of his, where a few years ago I didn't think it was actually all that good, but coming back to it after everything that's happened, I'm seeing this through new lenses.
God always knows exactly when you need something. I may only be 15 but it’s something I learned largely in the past three years there’s been a lot of trial in the past three years and it was really hard not being able to see friends like other kids and to stay at home but I’m learning God needs me to be his friend before I am anyone else’s friend. It’s still hard to be homeschooled after 8 years of school but I see why God needed us out. I can really relate to this song. Just the other day I felt so alone and as I thought I had no one God sent a friend I met at camp two years ago my way to remind me what theme of camp was that year. The theme was This means war it’s the title of a song By Charles Jenkins. But it reminds you that Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. It just so happened he was stealing my joy. And I did small things I did a lot before I had to grow up before I grew up. It actually helped a lot. I really don’t know where I’d be without God. Without Jesus dying for us. Without the Holy Ghost still watching over us. 😭❤️ I don’t say it Enough but Thank you Jesus, I love you for everything you’ve done for me.
While listening to Wintley Phipps talking about a lesson he learned from a wise black lady - she said "son if the mountain was smooth, you couldn't climb it" That immediately reminded me of this song. Why do we think everything going right is in our best interest? My deepest most intimate times with our Lord were through gut wrenching times in my life. Thank you Father for the troubled waters.
