I’ve never heard this song until today, but as someone not new to The Lord but a new Christian, to me, it’s a reminder that it is our choice to let go and let God “steal our show”, to place all control in His hands to light to lamp beneath our feet and illuminate the path He envisions for us. I remember once when I was a little girl in my bed, I couldn't sleep, so I prayed to God telling him I was scared of Satin and to help me. Well, I always sleep with the closet door open, and I saw this short little knight hanging on one of my hangers. And he told me "Do not be afraid! God is with you!" and I felt so inspired, at the same time a little creeped out. I went to bed right away, and had a peaceful night.

I STILL LOVE THIS SONG!! It’s been one of my faves and definitely a “go to” SEVERAL times since it came out. I first used it when I was going to lead my very first ladies bible study, asking God to speak THRU me. As I read some of the comments, I realized that we ALL need the Lord to “steal my show” DAILY!! Every day we are before SOME kind of audience; spouse, kids, co-workers, siblings, parents, neighbors, friends. This is actually a “die to self DAILY” prayer like what Peter talks about in the Bible. Thx Toby!!

God took away my friends, my career, and my heart. I was lost when I moved away at 14 years old. I just finished middle school and I was broken. I fell and i didjt know what to do when everything was gone. My friends were truely my family as well. All of them are goen now and have moved on to other things in life. Next thing god is taling aeay is my family. I know I am called to be a police officer because of everything i have seen in my life and how He has shaped me. I miss my friends dearly but i know that God is taking everything to test my faith. I praise Him because not only is He all I have left but He is my loving caring Father for eternity. I thank Him for all the memories i made with my childhood friends and for guiding me to be a police officer somewhere other than my hometown. I am not one but i know its my calling. Its been a dream of mine for years. I ahev even suffered through many illnesses so far too but i dont give up on my God. I will forever worship Him.
I have been needing to listen to more Christian music. I have had some rough days the past couple days, a lot of stuf goin on, but everytime I just give it to god, I feel so much better, I had sad face, but even as I sit here and type all this out I have a HUGE smile on my face. It feels sooooo good to love god. :) GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I was severely depressed and i was in my room crying with the radio blasting and I was listening to BVB (black vail brides) when this song interrupted the band playing and I started listening to it then SPEAK LIFE by toby mac also played and some how I ended up listening to Christian songs the rest of the night even as i felt like I was slowly dying in the inside

for those who may be confused as to the message: yes obviously it's not Toby's show, it's not glory to us. But what he's saying, is he's inviting God to interrupt this. It's a worship service, but Toby is saying that if God wants to say something, He is more than welcome. He's basically welcoming God's will.

The message is basically saying “God please..Take my show away. I need you to steal my show and do something with it that I can’t ever do with this show.” That message is so inspirational to me. It tells me that I should give everything that’s good, bad, and ugly to God. We shouldn’t worry about the trials in our lives. We can God handle all of the trials in our lives, But we still need to work with those trials and work through them. Keep up the great work Toby!

I can only explain my love and trust in YOU, and my unwavering belief that my inheritance in YOU is "Eternity" or eternal life. When compared to that "sure thing" in my future, today's uncertainty has NO power over my Faith. Success is the result of holding fast to God's Grace, Mercy, Love and His strength. Funny story about the first time my mom listened to this song. She said about halfway through that it was about Toby being smart to a punk and wanting to watch him fail in the big leagues. I remember hearing this, on the radio years ago and, i liked it, i also have the MP3 of this song.
this song, and many others, are very nostalgic for me, because they take me back to when I was younger and the world wasn't the hot mess it is today. It also brings back sights and smells from when I was younger too.
