Friend, listening to the Bee Gees is a direct trip to paradise, at that time they were the biggest headache for men, women simply melted for them, this video was recorded live in 1 take without arrangements of any kind only the orchestra and a microphone for the 3, plus the rights were given away in perpetuity for UNICEF, something never done by any singer and it has raised more than 12 million dollars. The record labels wanted to sink them because the song they released was inevitably number 1, the harmonies. What these 3 brothers did was and will be unique, they were capable of harmonizing with any rhythm they made, they were and will forever be geniuses, in addition to all of the above, they wrote songs for other famous singers. Talking about the Bee Gees is talking about talent, simply unique at 43 years old. Since I heard them as a child until today I think they are the best male group that exists.

Sadly only Sir Barry is with us these days, their harmonies have never been equalled. Some others to listen to, for whom the bell tolls. Massachusetts, world, new York Mining Disaster, words, I started a joke, spics and specks, holiday. That should get you started. Looks for some of their live stuff, and some acoustic sets they've done.

So glad to see another young folk discover this fantastic music. Believe it or not, this was one of the songs that made radio, the record industry, and the public turn against the Bee Gees for a while. In 1979, they were flying high, tons of hits, on the radio like every 40 minutes, biggest tour of the summer, but then from over-exposure, the inevitable backlash happened, and by spring of 1980, everyone but their most die hard fans, like me, had left them behind. So they took to writing songs for others and let the hubbub die down a bit, They wrote Woman in Love and Guilty for Barbara Streisand, Eaten Alive and Chain reaction for Dianna Ross, islands in the stream for Kenny Rogers and Dolly pardon, Heartbreaker for Dionne Warwick, etc. Europe "forgave" them for the disco stuff, much more than America ever did. They had a #1 hit with You Win Again in 1986 in Britain, but it barely cracked the top 100 here. They did have one last go at the top ten here with One, though, in 1989. But they continued to have pretty nice success in the UK, Europe, and pretty much everywhere but here till Maurice died in 2003. Maurice was kind of the glue that held the whole thing together, as Barry and Robin's relationship was complicated. Robin wrote a song called Sydney, which is where they spent some time in their childhood, but he dedicated his time to finishing his Titanic Requiem in time for the 100th anniversary of the Titatinc's sinking, and by that time, he was too sick to record with Barry. Robin passed a month later, in May of 2012. But Barry has been keeping the music alive since, though he's said that he's just about ready to retire. We'll see if he has a few more projects in him, thoughj. Barry actually was like three lead singers in one. If you want to hear what Barry can really do, check out Nights on Broadway. that song really shows off his versatility as a singer.

A song to the Press telling them basically 🤨 what they do is their Business. 🤭 That boy could compete with Babs vocally 🤯 and hold his own.
"And we got nothing to be Guilty of. Our Love will climb any Mountain. Near or far, we are. And we'll never let it end. We are Devotion."
"And we got nothing to be sorry for. Our Love is 1 in a Million. Eyes can see that we got a Highway to the sky. I don't want to hear your Goodbye"
