  • Join us for a one-of-a-kind taco tour of Santa Cruz, California. Why a taco tour of Santa Cruz, you ask? Santa Cruz County is 34% Hispanic, which equates to around 90,000 people - so it's quite natural that many of the local menus are going to have some of the "sabor", or flavor, which is so special and delicious. Where can you find our number one tacos in Santa Cruz? You'll have to watch to the end of the video to find out! But they're all going to be delicious!

We're gonna head there for a few days next month. Any recommendations on where to get the most bang for your buck? They all look great!

Los vejones is the best, for value as well as taste. Los Pericos is a good value, as well. If you're interested in other types of cuisine, our favorite breakfast places are Whale City bakery in Davenport, Cafe Brasil on mission Street and the Red Apple Cafe in Aptos. For lunch, Charlie Hong Kong and Akira sushi are great options. If you want something by the water, the most economical place is the Crows Nest Beach Market at the harbor They have a great deck over the water. The Crows Nest itself has a great vibe and view, but it's not a good value, at all. For dinner, we love Sugo for Italian, Shun Feng for Chinese, Real Thai kitchen for curry, and the Public Parish for bomb burgers.
For activities, check the boardwalk bowls website for their half priced times, look into apple picking at the orchards around Watsonville, and it's a great time of year to go whale watching. The feeding activity lately has been pretty impressive.
Have a great time in SC!

Los Pericos was my go-to spot when I lived in Santa Cruz. The carnitas always hit!

The most authentic flavored pastor and carnitas tacos that I've found around here are at the tiny taqueria in Capitola. Mijos Taqueria. I'll give that last taco truck a try but the others don't cut it for me.

Cool, we'll have to try that place out!
We only included the city of Santa Cruz because the entire county was more than we wanted cover, this time.
Thanks for watching and if you try los viejones, make sure to ask for the hand made tortillas.
