If you need a larger desk you could have a platform bed with a ladder and a desk underneath it. It would give you more room near to the kitchen area too then.
You seem so well organized and your video gives the impression you work very efficiently, as well as knowing exactly when to give yourself worthwhile little breaks. I'm also always impressed by how clean your shoes are. And thanks for letting us know what you're eating when you go out for lunch/dinner. Those little details really add something to your videos.
@@usui503I really enjoy your videos! They are very interesting and also very calming. I was wondering.... how do you film the overhead view of your apartment and all of the apartments that you show?

Sometimes I work and live on a cruise ship. My cabin there is also 7m². But I don't have a huge washing machine in there lol! Amazing! I am looking forward to seeing how you cook (if you do so). Also, how and where you dry your clothes (edited: I watched it already)- I would love a complete detail about everything! I want to add some points: I think to get more space, especially for your kitchen, you can have a bed with a ladder, which will give you ample space underneath your bed for your table, that can be as wide as your bed! It will give you some more space to probably keep a small wardrobe-like storage with a flat counter top where you now keep your reading table. The wardrobe you can use for storing some more clothes and also some basic kitchen utensils (like a small saucepan for cooking noodles, a plate and glass, some spoons etc). The counter top can be used to keep your induction stove and cutting some vegetables sometimes when you want to cook. Also, make sure you get a reading table underneath your bed that also has some storage space where you can store many different things! And to look at yourself in the mirror sometimes before an important meeting or presentation (virtual or in-person), you can get a full-length mirror that has stickers at the back. This you can attach to your bathroom/exit door that will make sure you dont need to have any extra space for it! Add a small hanging cabinet to the wall above your washing machine, you can keep 2/3 books, probably an indoor plant, 3-4 important things that your use, a picture frame. To add some nice aura at night, you can probably have some led lights around the ceiling or a cute nice lamp at one corner of your table, will give the room more personality! Many things to do with this space, I am really looking forward to it!
I am so impressed with how you keep your apartment so organized. I am surprised that you don't open your window. It's so large. I would think it would make your space seem even larger if you opened it. But you did say it was hot in Japan in summer so it makes sense to keep cool. Wishing you all the best.

Always fascinated to see what people give up & prioritize to live in a tiny space. I'd never give up that percentage of space to a washer: would prefer a tall freestanding closet or shelves for clothes & other items. Small pieces of clothing can be handwashed, & you can always go out to a laundromat weekly to wash sheets & towels. But, different strokes for different folks!
I would have thought that, until I had to do it. Living with wet, half-clean clothes all over the place is painful! I would absolutely choose the washing machine.

There are many old buildings in Hong Kong that will be converted into many small suites. Then rent it out at a not-so-cheap price. Some people with low salaries may spend 30-50% on rent. Then the other funds are not enough to pay. Some people even eat just one meal a day.
Does your landlord allow shelves on the wall? You seem to have a high enough ceiling to install shelves for storage. Another idea: when I was in college, my dorm room was also quite small. What helped was having a raised bed. Underneath, I had my desk and a small cabinet for my books and school things. If you could do that, you could get a larger desk and even a comfortable armchair and lamp in the space where you have your desk (or a small fridge or another cabinet for more storage).

Boa sorte🙏🙂🇵🇹
