To be honest I like this apartment a lot more than many high end luxury apartments Cash has shown on his channel. It is cosy and has soul, the old kitchen and old appliances are a bonus in my opinion, it has charm.. Still 1900 USD a month is way too much money for such a small space.
I’m a natural organizer like Rachael. I felt bonded with her over those cabinets. I don’t know how many times I’ve been on someone’s house and thought something like “I don’t know why they don’t put a shelf there.” She did a great job!
What a beautiful job Rachel did with this small place! Great organization, space saving solutions, and not much clutter! The best part is she seems very happy with her home! Thanks for the tour!
$1,900 for a livable NYC apartment that is well located and that doesn’t have to be shared with roommates AND on a 2 year plus 1 year extension is a godsend. People living in NYC tend to move often - chased out by rent increases. Moving expenses, first and last payments are a budget strain that she will not have for a couple of years. My guess is she has the kind of mom and pop landlord who will try to keep their tenant for many years. Mom and pops cherish reliable tenants.
@peartfaldo my 2 bedroom townhome was only $450,000 and 1.5 bathrooms with a 2 car garage n now its priced at $900,000 if i were to sell it 😅 i live in a very quiet wealthy neighborhood n not many people know about the city i live in plus i grew up in this city which i wont name cuz its not a good idea to have people kno where this peaceful city is 😌😌 and for homes in my city starts at $1mil up to $25mil 😏
We live in 3 bedroom house in Maine with 2 acres of land. Our mortgage is less than $1300/mo. Just to put into perspective to her $1900 a month for 275 Sq ft.
We actually don't need or use a lot of the "stuff" we collect, and this apartment has enough storage space for all the necessities. It's a decent size for one person, and Rachael has it organized. The location looks good, and by NYC standards the rent is "reasonable". If there's laundry nearby, that would clinch it for me!
I hear people talking about how expensive California is all the time, yet my mortgage on a 1,900 sq ft home in a gated community right next to a shopping center, food, gas, tires, grocery store and theatre is $2,200. She's paying $1,900 for that, holy cow!!!
@@ST-rj8iu There is no real “safe” place in Ny unless you’re super rich and even that’s shaky because usually most of the time you can’t tell the difference between the rich or celebrities. Those are the people who sometimes have security or bodyguards. Every place has the potential to be bad. It’s big city life. She’s paying for convenience. She lives around everything. Transportation, theaters, bars, restaurants, schools, nightlife etc etc. Literally steps away. I’d would have killed for a place like this when I was in college in Brooklyn.

Rachel did a wonderful job with the space she has while saving money. She seems very organized. I need her to come organize my house. I have a difficult time with that. There are 6 people in my family as well as 2 cats and my house is 1750 sq ft along with a garage and it’s very cluttered. Rachel should start her own RUclips channel for her organization skills.
She hasn't lived there very long, really. The longer you live in a place, the more stuff you tend to accumulate. If you multiply 275 by 6 people, that's 1650 square feet. Really close. Wait until she's lived in one place for 10 years. I would love to check back.
i would not call wasting 2 grand a month on rent a way to save money. i live in a central downtown area of Houston and my rent is 500 a month for a living room AND bedroom.
That's an awesome small place. I can't believe it's 275 sq ft and she has a kitchen, eating area, bathroom and nice living room. Rachael puts to good use of available space. Well done and adorable. One of my favorite tours.
I couldn't live like this. My house is 2600 s/f paid for. My note was under $800 a month. It's in a beautiful historic district on the Gulf Coast. I can play golf, go boating and fishing, or I can go hunting whenever I want without having to make plans. I just get up and go. My Dogs can run around free, I can BBQ in my backyard, and I don't have to worry about some lunatic pushing me or my wife onto the subway tracks. NYC is not for me. I fail to see any advantage of living like this young lady.
She's got a pretty good eye for organization and design. The apartment feels very comforting in a way that uni-space studios generally don't. The high ceilings help but also things like plants, picture frames, etc that she added.
New Yorkers! Get more “counter” space by making a noodle board to place on your stove top (of course when not in use)! Add handles and it becomes a tray!
I would probably get one of those dish drainers that is a frame you sit over the sink, as there is such limited counter space for prepping anything. I would also put a metal cover over the stove to make it usable for prepping as well. (This is me as a person who loves to cook; obviously not a priority for many people.) I do appreciate the little cart on wheels that can be moved into the kitchen space when needed. I would probably be storing my crockpot(s) and juicer on a shelf just to the right of the the fridge, and move the couch down a bit. And yes, the fridge doors would be less practical for use when actually cooking in the kitchen. Given the limited storage for the ingredients one would cook with, I"m guessing that the New Yorkers who DO cook go shopping right before they will cook and don't store ingredients in the fridge for long.
Wow! Rachel demonstrates a very special talent enabling her to create a unique and fantastic use of space. Her apartment is small but what she has done makes it appear much larger. I love it. Well done Rachel, you could become a professional organizer and decorator. ❤️
I love her apartment! It seems so much bigger than its sq. ft., and the angles and how she has it decorated is so charming and adorable! She has made really impressive improvements!
These spaces work best for folks who are organized! I am related to (one deceased) to some very disorganized & packratting people I cringe just thinking of some oe them in a small space
I love seeing people in their very small living spaces and how they utilized their spaces to the max. Also love how Rachel is a do-er. She makes her own shelves, install her own lamp…That’s the way to go to make your life more comfortable.
I have to say, she found a great space and absolutely leveled it up. I am 6' 1" and 238 lbs (a big guy) and I honestly feel this is the first tiny apt that looks like it would be doable. Very homey . And please help me organize! 😀
I love how the kitchen space is cut put has separate floor tiles and feels like it's its own space. So many studio apartment just feel like you sleep in your kitchen but here it gives the feeling it's a separate space well enough.
Cash, I am glad this video came back up on my recommended list. I believe that this is the very best tiny studio apartment that you have shown. Rachael should definitely write a "how to" book for decorating and organizing in tiny spaces. Her amazing studio would make an excellent photo cover.
This was my favorite tour. Very simple and down to earth. I have a small one bedroom apartment in Colorado ($1050 everything included, laundry in unit) and really enjoyed what she has created in her space. 😊
I like what she's done with the place . It's cozy but seems open which is amazing in that amount of square footage . This is something I would like to be able to do in my small studio.
I had a 375 square-foot apartment in Tokyo. I was not close to a train station, it was about a kilometer away. Depending on the exchange rate, the rent was anywhere from $425-$500 a month. That included an extra $40 for my parking space. You learn to deal with the size. My queen sized bed was too big for the bedroom. I set up the living room as the bedroom. It ended up being the focus of my existence. I had the TV set up in there. The bedroom kind of turned into a storage room. Never really used it. when you are in a cramped space, you adapt, and realize what’s important. You realize what you don’t need. Very doable! Americans are just spoiled with size, L O L!
Gmorning, and honestly, good for her. It's nigh impossible to find better in the city, I've tried. But it's so wild to me as a native that $1900 for an admittedly adorable closet is an excellent steal.
I believe I saw her apartment on Apartment Therapy. I could be wrong but I remember loving her space. Plus I remember the the pillow with the doggie on it.

We live in very rural Texas, and have a house that we rent out. Our renters pay $600 a month ( they pay their own utilities.) The house is older, but well-maintained. It has 3 bedrooms and 1/2 acre yard. It’s funny how the idea of acceptable rent/living space varies from place to place.
@@LovelyLady1111 For way out here, it’s probably a little low for the size of the place. But our renter is a single mom, so we wanted it to fit her budget.
What a brilliant human in her tiny space - very proud of her. Sending this to my daughter for inspo in her tiny space. Also, who else paused on the bookshelves to see if your fave novelists were included 😊

It's a cosy arranged apartment. Hope Rachel can stay there as long as she wants. By the way - such place should be rent stabilised. She already upgraded it.
Rent stablizing is dumb. Landlords don't want good tenants to leave. It's city government and crazies that do the stablizing. Areas self stabilize with the free market.
So many ppl with tiny spaces don’t know how to utilize all the space above. All those kitchen cabinets can have added cabinets above it for extra storage. The height is there. Same thing with bed. She could turn the bed towards the kitchen, and make a higher base for more storage. It would only take about 6” away from the bottom of the window, but would create less clutter of items she doesn’t need sitting around. The nightstand is useless anyway. She could have a hanging lamp or sconce instead nearby. A little wall shelf there would be enough for her phone or drink.
She is a very good organizer. It looks much larger than what it is. And it's bright, and airy. Super cute. Too expensive, but that goes with the territory I guess. Thanks for letting us see.
Cute apartment, though I have a lot of trouble believing it's as small as she claims. I'd hazard a guess and say it's closer to 400. That room with the couch and bed looks about the full size of the 250 sq ft apt I had in Japan (where I had basically no furniture lol so it's not a matter of organization)
I was thinking the same thing. The kitchen area is very small but the living space looks quite normal. There's plenty of room for the bed, couch, and other furniture.
The apartment's not much wider than the length of the bed. I'd believe it's about 12' x20' = 240 Sq ft. A lot of NYC apartments are converted hotel rooms. This might be one.
Calling it studio+ is copium. It might be a nice tiny studio. But the average studio square footage is 500 sq. ft. Calling this + is just nonsense. It's half the size of most studio apartments.
@@Danny-gs5dvNot where I live. This is big for a studio. I've had friends who lived in studio apartments that were under 150 square feet (small town in Iowa, not a big city). When I visited a coworker at her studio apartment, it was 400 square feet and it looked huge compared to the other ones. And try married student apartments at the university; those places are minute and bare bones. This is luxurious by comparison.

Girl! I use my ceiling fans all the time; I've got one I never turn off! It's by the heater/air conditioning unit and helps to disburse the heat (& A/C) throughout the house, which is also small but no quite as small as her place!
Even IF you did not mind paying more....it is fine size wise ...but the LOCATION could make me love NYC again... Truly EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND WANT...WOW
Very cute! The very high ceilings would make me want to have a loft up on the end where her bed is. That would be a great place to make a sleeping cove and open up that floor space.

To be honest I like this apartment a lot more than many high end luxury apartments Cash has shown on his channel. It is cosy and has soul, the old kitchen and old appliances are a bonus in my opinion, it has charm.. Still 1900 USD a month is way too much money for such a small space.
Depending on the location.
I wonder utilities included or separate
Yeah beautiful little apartment but $1900 is insane.

Same! Lol. Organizers Unite!
And I secretly think the same thing, whether a cozy space here or a lavish 5,000 sq ft home.
Her own personal touches really make it an amazing space,! Love it❤
What a beautiful job Rachel did with this small place! Great organization, space saving solutions, and not much clutter! The best part is she seems very happy with her home! Thanks for the tour!
A clever, Japanese style approach to space saving. I really like the apartment. it's not a characertless box.

@@ST-rj8iu There is no real “safe” place in Ny unless you’re super rich and even that’s shaky because usually most of the time you can’t tell the difference between the rich or celebrities.

It's not 275 sqft.
She's utilized all her space to the maximum. Very cleverly decorated. Looks cozy. ❤
Cozy is a word used by realtors for "extremely" small.
Wow! Rachel demonstrates a very special talent enabling her to create a unique and fantastic use of space. Her apartment is small but what she has done makes it appear much larger. I love it. Well done Rachel, you could become a professional organizer and decorator. ❤️

These spaces work best for folks who are organized! I am related to (one deceased) to some very disorganized & packratting people I cringe just thinking of some oe them in a small space
Probably due to scale, she appears to be about four and a half feet tall
It’s because the living room is huge compared to the kitchen
I'm guessing you're not in Denver at that price? If you are in Denver, whereeeeeee?
@libelow3588 Downtown Colorado Springs...I got lucky.
I love the way you did this. Showing an apartment that is actually occupied and how she lives in it. Love it!
Gmorning, and honestly, good for her. It's nigh impossible to find better in the city, I've tried. But it's so wild to me as a native that $1900 for an admittedly adorable closet is an excellent steal.

@@thecatatemyhomework interesting question.
"cozy"
@@julez3161 : Cozy is the American spelling. Cosy is the original British English.
Rent stablizing is dumb. Landlords don't want good tenants to leave. It's city government and crazies that do the stablizing. Areas self stabilize with the free market.
WOW! What a fantastic apartment! She really made that limited space work good for her👍👍❤️😁😁🙏
So many ppl with tiny spaces don’t know how to utilize all the space above.
I agree. No way that's only 275 square feet.
This might be one.
looks way bigger than my 422 sq ft
Rachael is organized and neat. Love how she is so invested in caring for it and making it her own.
I love her studio apartment! It actually looks like a studio+. She’s done great with her organization and decor! Great find on the couch too!

I use my ceiling fans all the time; I've got one I never turn off!
It's by the heater/air conditioning unit and helps to disburse the heat (& A/C) throughout the house, which is also small but no quite as small as her place!
She should be using her ceiling fan especially since her ceiling is high!
Also check the switch for hot/cold so whether the fan pushes air down or up.
It's a nice apartment but $1900 for 275 square feet should be criminal regardless of location
