    At home I use a Dell Latitude 7400 laptop and it works perfect. I also have a Cricut at work and use a Dell desk top, also perfect. The one thing I do different than most people is keep all my files and pictures on an external hard drive. This keeps my computers running fast and working more efficiantly. This was recommended by my IT department at work, and it also gives me the flexibility to transport my files between home and office.

    My 2013 MacBook Pro still works and looks amazing. Only bought a new one last week because it was too old to run design space.

    I have been a Macintosh (now Apple) girl every since they came out. I have iMac, iPad, iPhone and an older MacPro laptop and two other MacBook Airs that our grands use. Only recently did I learn the limits of the iPad, it doesn’t stop me though. I design on one of the laptops then cut from the iPad. Love me some Apple.

      Me too and my previous Mac that was refurbished lasted 7 years. Paid $400 for it and to compare I’d buy an hp and it would last maybe a year or two. Never again. Anything with windows is garbage

    I use an iMac, iPad and iPhone. If I’m at work I will use my iPhone or iPad. But I always use my Mac to finalize my project and save it. My Maker isn’t close to my desktop so I use my iPad via Bluetooth to cut.

    It is SO NICE to finally see an informational video that is produced and not a live stream. There is just too much going on in live streams and I just can’t follow them.
    I’ve been a Mac user for nearly two decades so the information presented is not new to me. I was afraid that Design Space wouldn’t run on my aging 2015 MacBook Pro with Mojave as the OS because the Cricut site said a minimum OS of “Big Sur”. I tried anyway and it worked. I’ve since upgraded the OS but haven’t yet tried Design Space. It should be fine.
    I also have a MacBook Pro but prefer to run my Cricut from my MacBook via USB.

    I have an Acer Spin (converts to a tablet) and an iPhone. I use both with my Cricut,, and would say I definitely use my Laptop the most.

    I bought an iPad Pro that I paid over two years 2700$ cad approximately and I was dismayed to find that the offset in cricut has bugs with the iPad Pro or iPad in general. I called them and they were very helpful and kind and said they were working on fixing these issues. But Ty for the video I will invest in a MacBook air

    I agree, simple items I use my iPad or to start a draft idea. But, for getting my idea come out much better I also feel more comfortable using my Laptop, much easy to navigate and use all the functions it provides.

    This was very informative. I was very discouraged when I found that I couldn't use the upgrades on my phone or tablet, but what I do is design with all of the upgrades like curving my test and the offset, save it, and then I can use my tablet to cut everything. I usually only use my phone with the joy.

    • @beadywoman
      @beadywoman 3 года назад +1

      @@True_Joker It may be the size of the screen - I can’t seem to be able to scroll easily, have issues sometimes with zooming, silly but frustrating things like that. But I really think that it is just my laptop and not an “industry” problem. It is much easier to get beautiful print then cut images from the laptop.

      And i get it being frustrating because I have that problem with my phone and it down Right angers me when I can't get it in just the right spot cuz it doesn't want to scroll or let you pick up the piece and move it where you want even with a stylus so I get it! But thank you cuz that's definitely a.con that I would heavily consider.

    I have wanted a cricut for probably 15 yrs (idk.. since the 1st one to ever hit the market. My gf got one just as i moved out of state from her 😭😆) well, a week a go my bf bought me the new maker 3. I'm learning on the fly. I found this video because i was looking for something to suggest what might be best for using it to its fullest. He already said he was going to buy me a dedicated device for it because I've had such trouble getting what I want to work with it. I usually use my phone because all I have are mobile devices I don't even own a computer because I don't like to sit still long enough to use it. Looks like I have to have one though

    I use my Dell laptop, the only problem I have is that when I have my grid up, on the menu on the left side, I can't see below the shapes to upload an svg, even when I cast my laptop to my 40 inch tv, I have to do a lot of screen toggling, eventually I am able to but it takes a while and it's so frustrating.

    I just got my first Cricut and I intend to use my desktop for design space, but would like a second device to carry downstairs to the basement where my Cricut is located to avoid constantly running up and down the stairs. What would you recommend for something portable and inexpensive that doesn't necessarily need to have all the functionality of design space? I thought about just using my android phone, but it's is usually pretty busy playing music and audio books while I am crafting.
