Hey Jon ... this is fantastic. We've had flow available to us for some time but not much use until this video. I want to thank you so much as we have a feedback form just sitting there and then have done nothing to it. In one video you have changed everything and we now have multiple forms that are now visible to the business through Power BI. You've turned me into a superhero. Thank you so much.
Woohoo! You are so welcome!!
You are an awesome teacher - straight to the point but super CLEAR on HOW TO - thank you soooo much - my flow worked :) (did a time off request approval flow)
Wooot! Thank you for letting me know! I love hearing that people made flows successfully from watching me!
What’s your next one now?!
Jon, this rocks. I haven't tried it but I think I am able to get this done. Well done and let's hope our IT department lets Flow work like this.
Probably one of the best sample intros I’ve seen yet. Thanks so much for putting this together.
You are very welcome!
OMG simply loved it. Will watch all of your videos for sure. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Good bless you
This is fantastic. Loving the simple explanation of what is needed and made whole process easy to understand. Now i need to transfer the knowledge to connecting to CRM Dynamics 365
Im new to MS flow and I find your content, so easy to follow. Thank you.
Excellent Jon!
Thanks for sharing it!
Awesome video! Thank you so much for all the detail and step-by-step!!
Awesome video Jon, definitely worth it. Was looking at it on the phone, and came to the lap, connected and made this Flow. Thanks dude, legit!
Yesssss! So stoked you made it work! :)
Mate did you just make an MS tutorial video look cool?! well done to you
Great video, very well explained! Thank you
I watched your video and took action! Awesome tutorial! Thanks a bunch Jon Levesque, Levesque
Great clip Jon! can;t wait to visualize this in Power BI
Just what I need. I'm looking forward to unlocking the secrets!
Jon. You are awesome! I came here for a different question but got 2 amazing answers to things I didn't know where possible and I didn't know I needed but I totally do. I'll be trying this!
Yesssss! So excited to hear it!
Thanks Jon. I've been using your flow (oh umm.... Power Automate) videos for a bit and seen you at Ignite. Thanks for continuing to be a great resource to us all.
Rocco! My pleasure pal. Thanks for taking a second to leave such a nice comment :)
Just did it. Great idea, Works amazingly Thanks!
Woot woot! Now you have a working flow! What’s the next one you want to build?
Super Cool Jon! Really enjoy your vids :) Sharing with students :)

You’re very welcome! :)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, much appreciated!

Awesome ! I loved it. You explained in great flow! Keep up it.Cool
Jon thanks you so much! I tried on my own and work it out on my first flow
I liked your simple and clear way to teach...keep doing like that. Marcius from a city called Goiania, Brazil. Search on the Maps!!!
+Marcius M G Souza thanks so much my friend!
Hi Jon, I am late to the party, but I created a flow based on your video for a large school district. Your video explanation is amazing! Thank you!!
Richard, yes!! That’s amazing! Thank you for letting me know
Nice One Mate, Love Your Work. Will pass this on to my students :) Keep it up :)
Hey!
Thanks for the video. Congratulations!

Amazining, I like the way it was explained.
Thanks a lot! You're a life saviour
You are so very welcome! Happy to help
Just reviewed your video, in my way back time machine...genius. FYI, as a Canadian, I have no issues with your surname. One of the main streets when I drive through Montreal, QC.
Nice one great video, but I am new to this and then I get a good start, keep up the good work, thanks
Thanks!!
I'm enjoying your videos! I did the form one. My next challenge is to build a Flow that interacts with a Sharepoint List (gets items), then sends a scheduled email followed by updating a dashboard. Wish me luck.
Thanks!! and Good luck Allan!
I made it. I created my first flow..its amazing feeling..tall credits goes to you...thank you jon :-)
Woo woo! Happy Dance!
Thanks in a million. Second to none!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Hey John great job.
Thanks Dimitri! I appreciate you saying so!
Hi Jon..... I just watched your tutorial is a very good material, I really love it. please, I want to know more about Microsoft flow.
Did a flow!!! and it worked.
Yesssss! That’s awesome. What did you build?
Great video, so well explained. Thank you! Is there a way you can collect response results and send in batches?
Thanks very much. Super helpful!
This is so so cool. Trying it now...🤞
Thanks will experiment and use it!!
Tried it and use it now!! Thanks..
Thanks! This video is awesome
You’re very welcome!
Thank You so much! I have been trying to figure this out for about a month how to get form data to flow into powerBI and to a dashboard in an automated fashion! I created a survey for one of my workflows that has been manual in the past, and this will definitely put us on the path to streamlining! Could you also show how to create the data visualization in Power BI with the collected information in another video? maybe I will check out that bonus link you shared in your email to see if you already shared that :) Thanks Again for showing us how to use this powerful tool!
Thanks for this content
You’re welcome!
Thank you - this worked very well and my Form - flow with Power BI was a success. I am creating a small ticketing form and the issue I have is that I need to send an email to IT help desk with all the Form field data? - This was great
Super tutorial.
Just seen your great channel and not yet see through all video.
Right now, I only have basic subscription of MS account on my desk. To run Power automate like this or at least for someone who have worked as self-employed with some clients, what type of MA account should I have so I can work like you did?
Thanks Jon
Thank you so much for this video, iand also for the learning material
Hi Jon, great information. Can you tell me what the options are to blend this power automate data with an existing on prem dataset I work with in power Bi? I.e. we want to count customer visits by sales rep by month, then show that results along with applicable sales totals..
Love it! This is exactly what I've been looking for! By the way, it's been a year since you made your video, do you have any easier way so far?
awesome dude
Jon, this is a great tutorial fro a beginner like me. I think you mentioned about looking at some run-time visualisations in powerbi after completing the flows and forms. Would you be able to demo that as well?
Yeah, i could make one of those in a future video for sure!
Neat and funny. Good information. Thanks
Jon awesome presentation. I have a question, is there a plan to add more Forms triggers and actions into Flow? Thank you
Hey Dusan, what actions and triggers would you suggest? You can also add ideas to aka.ms/flowideas
@@JonJLevesque I have one idea currently, "once the form is submitted, start a new specific form". Ill put in the forum also.
Another question, maybe this is for other Forms team, is there plans to add more functionality to forms? Functions like "if this then that"?
Thank you
Hi Jon
Great Video and so informative, I've subscribed.
Wondered if it's possible to use flow to create an email with the results of a Form embedded in that email rather than having to view results in forms itself.
Thanks.
Mick that is very possible! You’ll add the first two forms steps then add the action “send an email v2” and voila! Customize to your hearts content!
@@JonJLevesque so Trigger and action and then another action as email? What's v2?
love it!
Beautifully explained concept of flow in Microsoft. Can we able to connect data of two Microsoft forms with the help of flow..?
I yes please make a video of same...
Thanks!
Hey Jon, thanks for this! Could you help me to know if the following thing is possible or not ? I have 3 difft forms to be filled by each employee of my company 5,5,5 which means on 5th Day one form,5week,5month. I want to make this automatic, if one employee fills it on day 5 will get form link of 5th week and for 5th month without any manual or minimal manual intervention? Possible ?
this video is awesome , ca we have this for large data collection , work flow for progress on 40 to 45 indicator by 15 people every three month on some target
+Ehsan Ullah I’M not sure what you mean. You could set up a flow to do that, sure.
Hey John, Excellent Video for learning just wanted to know what about POWER BI Data you have not show how data is reflecting in Power BI.
Great Jon!!!! But can I use all data (or partial ones) to calculate them and give an answer to the user? And, I'd like to register all together, data and results. What do you think? ;-) Cheers from Brazil.
HI Jon, Can I do a flow to come back to the form page when the form is submitted?
Awesome video! I'm trying to use the same method but instead of Power bi, I'm using excel with tables. How do i put an condition on a response answer so that if the answer doesn't meet the condition it won't run or add to any tables.
a simple example of this is on forms user picks "Site A" or "Site B"
if they pick "Site A" that flow will run but not the flow for "Site B"
I've created a form flow to capture policy acknowledgements by populating a SharePoint List but is there a way to dynamically populate information about the form itself? Specifically I would like the list item to include the name of the form through dynamic selection rather than a static entry in the flow.
It was very interesting. Thanks. How can I automatically add the person's line manager name and line manager's email address in the organization into the email for example?
Jon,
When I run a test in the flow. I want to have the respondents email in the body of the email. Essentially I'm sending an email with the responses to an email so that person can go in input the data to create a proposal after they see the data. But I want the respondents email in the body so that the person interpreting the responses can then draft the proposal and send it to the email they provided in the form. But every time I do the test the email shows up as "anonymous" any tips on how to fix this would be great!
Hi Jon. Great video. I wonder if this works with forms or is it just quizzes. Thanks!
This definitely works with forms!
Thank you the well explained content, I have a question though, is it possible to pre-fill the form using previous data entry by a user ? If so please can you create a video for it . Thank you !!!
It is not possible :(
True, I've done several research on this and seen that Microsoft forms has not included this functionality yet. But thanks though, really appreciate the good work you're doing

Is there a way to auto populate the fields for a calendar event using the data from the form?
Love these sessions that can help trainers train - but I think the most important part comes at the 18:25 mark. :-)
Haha! Love the comment!
it's a new piece of the PA/Flow Gospel, Jon 18:25
Would love to see on how to connect to ms sql and it thrilled me to see the dashboard in power bi. Good video though
Super video.. love the way you defined.
i have a question.
1. How do i get the summary of responses submitted through email or as a pdf attachment on submission 2. How do i get email alert if rating goes below 3 out of 10 (so and so person submitted down rating)
Thanks in advance
This is awesome as usual, but what happened to the PowerBI portion of the demo?
Hmm.. i guess i skipped over that huh?! Sorry!
Great video. Could you show us how to display responses in the email.
Hi Jon - thank you for your video. Its really good and clear what are you doing and why.
I am trying to set up Flow for meeting room booking. I would like to set up Flow which will do following:
1. Organiser send meeting request to the meeting room. Skype for Business meeting for instance.
2. Meeting is tentative at this stage;
3. Specific people in our organisation approve this request;
4. As part of approval from specific people email was sent back to organiser to fill up the form about catering requirement, for instance;
5. Organiser reply's back with specific catering (if any) requirement.
Is that even possible with Power Automated / Flow?
Sorry - name is Boyan :-)
Hey. Had a quick question.
If we use a branching form and a field is left blank, the FLOW fails. What is to be done in such a scenario ?
Thank you! great video. One question. Why I cant see these connectors in my options "outlook send an approval email" or "office 365 outlook send an approval email". I want users be able to approve from outlook.... Again thank you the material uploaded.
Hi Jon, that was a great intro, I knew nothing, now I know lots. I have a website that collects client data input by staff, and the business wants to send a partially filled Form to a client to fill all the remaining details, which I would store in the appropriate SQL Server record. Is this the best technology for that purpose (i.e., not a survey as such)? How would a 'Send' button on my website connect to Forms and actually send the form please?
Can you make a video on some of the functions for excel online in flow. Maybe even combining it with answers from forms
Hi i wanna cross chexk a sharepoint list where i need to match the user’s department (from profile) and matxh it with the department’s manager from the sharepoint list , and use his email in the email connector to send the approval email.
Which sharepoint connector do i use get items or item ? Also how do i cross check and select from the list , which condition do i use
Hey Jon, thanks for sharing. I was thinking of setting up a flow with ms forms-quiz such that when a person gets full marks for the quiz he gets an email sayings congrats else it would be "try harder next time" However the tricky part is the "points" option does not seem to be available for selection within flow which is a stumbling block. any alternatives? Thanks!
+Sean you would need to create an answer key somewhere, Move the quiz answers there, compare and then calculate, then respond. This isn’t an easy thing unfortunately - but it is possible
@@JonJLevesque Yeah understood. If only Forms has exposed the "Points" field (since Respondent Time, Name, Email are available) that surely make this MS Forms-Quiz very very useful. Would you know if perhaps Forms Pro would have this? Tia
I keep getting an Error (400) when I try to test my Flow. The Power BI function doesn't let me map the fields one to one as Jon does in the video. Instead after I define my workspace/dataset Ect. it asks me to add dynamic content to the "Payload". This is where the error occurs every time. Thoughts?
great video.
I have a question.
I see a lot of videos where "surveys" are used as an example.
I created a quiz, it works well but I can't get the same result when I export it with the option in the Form response tab of my quiz (open with Excel) and my flux.
I have my answers but I don't have the right answer like the file.
Can you help me. I can send you a screen or a link to show you. Thank you in advance.
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to create my first Flow from a Microsoft Form conference registration to automated email thanking attendees for registering, providing the details of the conference, and asking them to email if they have to cancel. One thing is the email went to my junk email. Any way to avoid that? Next...I am going to try to have a flow from a specific question on the form (do they want to pre-order a t-shirt) to an email that provides them the payment information. Thanks again!! So helpful!
You’re so welcome! Woo hoo so excited for you :)
@@JonJLevesque I was trying to take it a step further...but can't get it to work. See below comments. :)
Jon - Is there a video that details connecting via Flow a Microsoft Form and a SharePoint Online List?
This one does - ruclips.net/video/AOpm_lVjgmk/видео.html
Can you please make the video for Check- In project and publish if the projects are checked-out using power automation ?
For some reason I don’t get the apply to each in the get response details. Do you know what would cause this?
This happened to me when I tried my first form
@@rkchamberlin5 Me too.. any solution to this?
I also had this problem, using Power Automate. However, my form seems to work without the "apply to each" item. I am only sending an email response to each submission and have not trialled this with any other processes, but the email response is working.
Thank you very helpful. Does anyone know how to keep a flow running? Mine stops running after the form is filled out everytime.
Hello Jon ,Hope you doing well can you please fix this for me when we submit the form it will post into yammer needs to be that of the submitter ?how?
Can you enable a trigger for case where user goes back into their form submission and makes an edit?
How to get data from multiple MS forms and create one live stream for a power BI dashboard? Can we use SharePoint alongwith flow to create the live data stream and then connect it to Power BI?
I have built a form to use as a sign up sheet. Is there a way to limit how many people can sign up for a certain date? I have tried so many different things to get this to work
I can do it in google forms. But prefer the way that the Microsoft for looks and feels just need a way to do this.
You’ll want to have a list of “available” dates somewhere else and have the flow check against that list when setting a date
Can we convert SharePoint List data into XML using Flow?
If I put Multiple Choice option when it gets to my email it writes something like this: "[op.1","op.2","op.3"] but i want something prettier like:
- op.1;
- op.2;
- op.3.
Is there a way i can make it? I already did a connection with a sharepoint list and it made no difference.
Great video! I tried to implement it but I would like to attach in the email the response submitted in the form. Could you please send me a reply on how to do it?
Great info thanks very much. If you haven't already, you should consider getting a better microphone as the sound is rather poor. Oddly enough, at 10:59, the sound improves, so not sure what was going on there.
gRACIAS POR TU VIDEO APRENDI MUCHO:¡¡¡¡¡¡ ODRIAS MOSTRAR LA COMO SE MUESTRA LA INFO EN POWER BI
I watched your video and made a similar one at the same time step by step, and I got stuck when adding dynamic data and table. Around minute 21. the expansion you speak about doesn't happen and I am unable to finalize the process.
