At 10:46 instead of sleeping back at the ship, there’s a seating area right outside the shop just take a seat and repeat the same process with the “Wait” feature while sitting.
As far as the lock pick system goes.. At first I was like “why in the f did they do this” lol because I’m so used to elder scrolls and fallout systems.. but I love what they did with it now.. because it isn’t to complicated but on harder locks you will find yourself sitting there for longer than you thought you would and it’s a nice touch
One thing to add regarding registering your ship. You can go to the ship tab in the menu after commandeering a ship and register it there for cheaper than going to a ship services technician. I’ve generally seen it anywhere from 10-20% cheaper registering it that way.
My advice. Wait until unlocking a non-combat skill first before you use the skill as much as possible. This saves time and prevents repitition later because what you did in the past does NOT count for later when you unlock a skill and want to level it that skill. If anything security and/or scrounging should be two of the earliest skills to unlock because there is going to be a lot of both.
How ? This game is so hard to enjoy. Glad someone is enjoying it. Very disappointed. I think BG3 spoiled me for expectations for voice acting and story
I did the same but with a pirate ship. Thing was A class but had B class engines and weapons so it was super mobile and Deadly. Made space combat way more satisfying
I'm unlocking the first rank of every skill I want to use before going to deep into any of them except for my most core few skills because the challenges would make my experiences go to waste. For example, let's say I keep picking easy locks. If I don't have at least one point into security, none of those go toward fulfilling the challenges to progress to another rank. Same goes for all skills, so its best to unlock them ALL as early as possible.
Don't worry about mistakes on first play through, its a learning experience. You can always make a second character where you make an OP character with best starting benefits . Its a role playing game for a reason, emmersion and enjoyment
The biggest tip I find is that don't skip faction missions. Because I didn't know that if you finish main story you cannot finish them. Good to know. Game is so big I think I will mostly just do missions and some exploration. I don't want to make the mistake I often do in big open world games of just exploring too much and then kind of get bored. Also don't want to be massively over leveled.
I’d recommend not doing faction quests first playthrough. Just gather intel on where they are and what they do/believe. Have another dedicated character for each faction. Not played myself yet but I’d guess a neon Street rat would be a great thief build. Sneak, pickpocket, lockpicking, persuasion. Things a thief would do and use. There is a bunch of load screens for smoothness and stability. I’ve been playing on series x and have not had a crash, stutter or any frame drops or bugs. If it was all completely open world and everything was loaded in at once, the game would run like dogshit.
Youre over encumbered. Reduce your loot or take a syringe that lets you increase your carry weight for 2 min. It's also good to have a piece of gear that also +XX to carry weight. So when you need it Equip it quickly and fast travel to your ship. The above 2x things can also be combined. This also existed in Skyrim and Fallout 3/4.
I am a skyrim fan here, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout4. I got excited for starfield, but when I saw the gameplay I was really disappointed. Anyone can convince me otherwise?
So - it seems like a departure, at first...there's the ship and all of the planets and all of that...however, think of the ship as the stable/horse/cart...the space bit is *minimal* for me after 50 hours...it almost might as well be a loading screen...you have your capital cities, with lots of quests and characters...and various quests need you to jump on the cart and travel closer to the quest location. The core of the game is very, very familiar - with that said, I prefer fantasy or the dark humour in fallout...the stories are interesting, gameplay is pretty solid, the UI could be better, the random areas seem to be a bit of a waste of time but do give loot and often combat. Think of it as sci-fi skyrim because all of the extras, for me so far, have been pretty much optional.
Loving the game so far. My only complaint with the game so far is that taking off and landing on a planet are not seamless like it is in No Man's Sky. We know the technology and capability is there, Bethesda just chose not to do it.
Not how it works at all. Graphics and content are why. Starfield has 1000x the amount of content no man’s sky has, and has actually realistic graphics, no man’s sky is cartoony and has no textures. It’s impossible with our current technology. Starfield is also an rpg, NMS is a space sim.

it's an optional part of the game if you are inclined. It's fun to take off and travel then engage your engines. lets you do some prep on the ship to gear up chat with crew then decide who to bring with you. Example one time I left a planet and ran into bounty hunters 10 levels above me so I took the American (joke) approach to shoot my way out. Lets just say We all died Faaaasst. Quick reload of save from when on planet and fast traveled to my destination problem free. So having Options is good. I needed the credits for a purchase so did not want to give it.
It's useless until you realize you have a companion to store loot on but also an entire ship to fill with loot but hey try teleporting while overencumbered

If you can teleport to any planet what is the purpose of having a ship They need to get rid of the teleport system then if that to me just nullifies the point of having a ship.
Someone needs to tell RUclipsrs that the game is "NOT out yet" (still 4-5 days left) (maybe 65% of the player base do not have the game yet, maybe more) and to use the Spoiler tag in their video title and to mention it every where because all the screen shots and video's are from the mid to End game sections and contains a shit ton of spoilers. Having only just started the game (21hrs in) This is a Very non informative video. Keep in mind Bethesda games are about the Journey and not the Destination. You don't need a perfect Journey you just need to do it. STOP robbing everyone of the "experience" you already enjoyed. Figuring it out "is the game".
Gonna be honest... My biggest mistake was buying this game. I jus't can't stand playing it anymore, and I'm just 6~7 hours into it. This is a major downgrade from Fallout 4 and/or Skyrim in almost every aspect. My advise, download a torrent before buying it... Don't waste your money.
Good job and looking like the mandolorian. You can’t be a murder hobo with Sarah out, I’m not very far but I found that out. There’s lots of environment things you can use during CQC. And you can blow up enemy backpacks. Also the first combat scenario with the crimson guys you can persuade them to not fight and then get the upper hand and get some nicer starting gear from the names pirate. It was much easier that way 🥹
Why isn't "Playing this Game" one of the first mistakes you need to stop doing. Holy SHIT Starfield is so bad. >_< It is somehow the most open bethesda game yet, but at the same time the most quiet, most dead, most devoid of life and most boring.
@@Jabberwokeethis is NOT a space sim. Kidding right? You can pick a landing spot on any part of a planet unless it's a faction locked area or too environmentally dangerous. Planet exploration is to be done in chunks. "Massive" Mistakes?! not like end of the world
Give us credits video please!
Anyone know how to stop be chased by people in town
Start a new game
When Naruto Storm connections and Spider-Man 2 come out…You already know what to do
Play whatever game I wanna play? Thanks lol
they need to bring back “scrap” option for loot IMO
Playing on xbox series s loadingscreens are 2 butterflyknife flips long i can grab it flip it open flip it closed and boom the game is back to playable
I duno man I'm about 10 hours in and I'm about spent kinda boring all the teleporting around
Credits pls
So the ship is kinda pointless
it's an optional part of the game if you are inclined. I needed the credits for a purchase so did not want to give it.
you know your space game is failing at being a space game when your ship is meaningless if you can just teleport everywhere.
It's useless until you realize you have a companion to store loot on but also an entire ship to fill with loot but hey try teleporting while overencumbered
There's been good space games where
...you don't fly a ship at all....
So many RUclips videos focused on “massive mistakes you shouldn’t make” well shit when do I have fun in this game. It feels like a chore
There is a shit ton of things to do and have fun, The RUclipsrs are doing the "Click-Bait" focus on the thing that draws the most noise.
@@RogerJoseph yes you are right. The game does take significant time to grow on me. And it slowly has. Now that I have my bearings. Know where things are.
@@BloomsArchitect Agreed - the first 2 days for me were mostly annoying...on day 3, I figured out what I was doing...how to use the UI, what aspects I was interested in or not, which should be left for later etc...now I'm really enjoying it...thinking about just starting fresh as I have at least 5 skill points that I regret...
@@foxbasedelta338 it kicked in at the 10-15 hour mark for me once I found where things are, got some good gear. Build the house and filled it with stations and cargo. Equipping my companion with a good gun. It’s slowly becoming less of a 2nd job this game lol. First 10 hours felt like I was clocking in to work.
If you can teleport to any planet what is the purpose of having a ship They need to get rid of the teleport system then if that to me just nullifies the point of having a ship.
The biggest mistake is buying this game instead of downloading it for free
Massive mistake one. Buying it
Does this game have zombie mode? Lol jk
Resting for 24hrs takes forever! Wtf were the devs thinking. It's like watching toast in the toaster
Tik tok brain spotted
Buying the game is a Mistake
Thank god I stuck with PlayStation and didn’t betray it for Midfied. No man’s Sky is literally 10x better 😂😂
Sounds like someone’s jealous
@@diegosalazar8531 Of what? Wasteland planets that you can’t even land on? 💀 💀 💀 they should have just focussed on Elder Scrolls 6 instead
Someone didn't get enough attention as a child ugh
@@Savage80 You are a child if you play Midfield 💀
Oh poor boy..
remember when they said there would be little to no loading screens lol NMS destroys them
Avoid buying the game.
I wonder if the quicksave, punch, quickload trick works in starfield
Good job and looking like the mandolorian. You can’t be a murder hobo with Sarah out, I’m not very far but I found that out. There’s lots of environment things you can use during CQC. And you can blow up enemy backpacks. Also the first combat scenario with the crimson guys you can persuade them to not fight and then get the upper hand and get some nicer starting gear from the names pirate. It was much easier that way 🥹
Mods will actually make this game good
Why isn't "Playing this Game" one of the first mistakes you need to stop doing. Holy SHIT Starfield is so bad. >_< It is somehow the most open bethesda game yet, but at the same time the most quiet, most dead, most devoid of life and most boring.
Not familiar with space sims?
@@Jabberwokeethis is NOT a space sim. There is absolutly NO way to travel between planets other than teleporting making your ship useless and space exploration is a no go anyways as the planets generate a small map with borders around you everytime you land. The planets also feel lame and as OP said there is absolutly no life in the cities or even main characters.
You didn't even play the game
But you’re here looking for tips yet your opinion is already made? Interesting
Kidding right? You can pick a landing spot on any part of a planet unless it's a faction locked area or too environmentally dangerous. Planet exploration is to be done in chunks. Explore one section, go back to your ship, then pick another part of the planet to explore. That's how I mapped out most of Earth.
