What’s really cool is that you can interchange the slides from one to the other making a G17 and a G19. It’s like having the option of four different configurations in two pistols. 👍🏻
Wait until you hear about palmetto state armory and the dagger system. It’s a Glock 19 Gen 3 clone, with a few differences. They have full size frames which is the G17 size grip. They also have barrels and slides to make it a full size barrel and frame. I can mix it up a lot. Look into it if you think this is interesting lol.

I'm of the same opinion, I like my 45 better than my 19
I've always loved the simple logic of Glock model numbers, where the square root of the model number gives the grip length, the cube root gives the slide length, and the natural log gives the caliber. (heh - not really - the only Glock I know is mine: the 41 in .45 ACP)

After carrying a G22 gen 3 on duty and owning several Glock 19s (gen 3 & 4) i decided it was time to get a G45/19X. Picked up a G45 and it is a great pistol but honestly the G19 still feels like the most well balanced pistol for me. I'm not a big guy though so the G17 handles always seemed too big for me and I'm probably one of the few people out there that actually like the finger grooves and more specifically the Gen 4 Glock 19.
I bought a gen 4 thinking I'd like the finger grooves, but after shooting it a while, I think I might get a gen 5.

@@savage22bolt32 i think i just like the finger grooves because they fit my hand just right but I remember a lot of the bigger guys that i worked with didnt care for them and are glad the gen 5s got rid of them.

Longer G49 slide offers a little more increase in bullet velocity, too.

The 19 grip with 17 slide sounds very nice
When I bought my G45 I ALMOST bought a G17 because I figured the longer slide and sight radius would be better for accuracy. But the 45 balanced in my hand so nicely that I just said "Maybe later". I liked the longer grip of the 45 better than the 19, but only by a little. Another "maybe later". This is my first Glock and so far, I like it.
G45 MOS with a TLR7A and Holosun 407C IWB appendix carry and tucked in shirt. I didn’t like the shorter G19 grip not filling my hand. No problem concealing.
People say this, but it’s impossible for me to conceal a full-sized grip in appendix carry. I’ve tried. Prints like crazy. Im an average sized guy, 150lbs. Much prefer the G19 size.

Radian afterburner and ramjet comp on my glock 45. I love it. Shoots so dang flat and falls right back on target. Great gun!!!!!!!

I have a 26 & a 43X. Love them both.
G45 is my carry gun (comped with a RogueGunWorks comp) and I love it. Haven’t shot the 49 yet, but I can say the G19 grip is just too darn small for me. I truly wish there was a “Medium” size frame in between the “Full Size” and “Compact” frame sizes.

@@PowuhToSeven 😆 that would work too! IDC what they call it, but please for the love of all things holy, make a frame size between the G17/45 & 19/49… even if they have to make a new magazine size to accommodate, at least I could use all my G17 mags with it while the G51(😂) mags come standard
@@SullyCortezsmith and Wesson has the idea down with the sd9 series but if they made it in the m&p series that would be nice. 16 round mags to fit a grip thats in between the two I believe. If im wrong, anyone who knows let me know so im not spreading misinformation🤙
Handgun hero shows the SD9 being about as tall as a 19X.

I have the 19x. Basically a 45.
I love it. Being short with big hands, it fits me well. Doesn’t poke the nuts when I appendix carry, yet I got good grip.
Thanks for the Glock love. I own a G34 Gen 3 and the G45 and G48 they all work every time I need them too. Both the 45 and 48 are in my carry rotation along with my wheel guns and have never felt it hard to conceal either one. Thanks again. (:

I lean towards the Glock 45 for its versatility and ergonomic design. It just feels like an extension of my hand when I'm shooting.
G45 has been the only pistol I have ever picked up and it just felt right. The fit, balance, and ergonomics are just perfect

I love the 19x/45. But honestly with my health issues i carry a g48, a 43x, and a g26 with glock plus 2 extensions( but not at the same time!). I added a g36 .45acp last year, I can carry any of those is a DeSantis pocket holstet. And it doesn't hurt my back. But i definitely a glock fan boy, but I think I will pass on the g49

First range trip with my g45 was impressive to say the least.
Haven’t seen the 49 yet. My edc is a 45. It’s almost perfect for conceal carry. There’s a bit of printing for me, not too bad though.

The 19 size is just a magic size not just being a 9mm. I don't like the 17 and dont shoot it as well. I have the 19,23, and 32. I don't know why it feels perfect, I never liked glocks. The more I started shooting in general I realized how good the glock 19 was and why everyone is chasing it. The aggressive grip angle with the hump in the grip give it a great feel when you learn to shoot a glock properly. Its the only handguns I own anymore.
G45 for me if I could only have one. Of course - I have both 🇺🇸
Believe it or not, been pocket carrying a G45 with a Holosun Vulcan retical, plus 3 extension and a Johnny Glock combat trigger for years.
I have the G19 and G45, like them both BUT damn there is something about the G19 that feels perfect!
I have the 43 for edc because its so comfortable but recently bought the 19mos for back up

I just bought a 47 this year new EDC
Out of all 9mm Glocks I own, the most balanced to shoot, "for me", are as follows:
1) Glock 45
2) Glock 19X
3) Glock 19
4) Glock 17
5) Glock 26
6) Glock 43X
7) Glock 43
For EDC........ always Glock 19 followed by Glock 43X. Your mileage my very.

I Like the longest grip. I feel Like I have a better control with the Long gip.
I'm lucky to love in a open carry state so the imprint isn't a issue for me.
From the first day the G45 was released, I've waited for the .40 caliber in that size..No luck.
I'm not close to our beloved host in height at only 6'2. But the issue has always been the grip on the G19 is too short. The 49 is a dumb idea, but I respect them for trying to make it work for the market that wants it.
Must be the hand size, I prefer the G17 length grip regardless of slide length. Thanks for this comparison.
Have both pistols. The 49 is amazing. Rotate both as bedside pistols with Arco P2 and TLR-1HL. I was also told the 45 slide on 49 frame = Glock 19 and then 49 slide on 45 frame is the Glock 17
Not to totally change the subject, but... If one has both a Springfield XDM Elite Compact in 45acp & the full sized XDM Elite in 10mm one really has 4 different possible combinations: the 45acp with a 3.8" barrel with the compact & full sized frame and the 10mm with a 4.5" barrel with both options, full sized & compact. As long as one keeps the correct magazines (and you would need at least a short one in 10mm and a long one in 45acp) with the slides the comparison to the two Glocks reviewed is almost identical with two calibers available!
sold my old rusty 1911 and bought my first glock a glock 45. i have small hands but somehow the grip feels good.
I've said it on every post I've saw about the G49... That it will be the Next greatest GLOCK 2nd to the G19 IMO

45 is great but i like the 49 better for carry. Not sure which i shoot better
All I know is, Hickok transitions between targets like nobody's business! Either pistol, he was racking up the points!
I have the Glock 45 & 49. I bought both since I can switch the slides and have either a 17 or 19 size Glock.
I have the 17 & 19 in the Gen 3, but I think I like the 5th gen a little better. If I was stating with Glock, the 45 & 49 would be the best 2 to start with, IMO. But it is hard to beat the 26 or 43x for CCW.
The G49 slide on the G45 frame makes a G47
The G19 has always been a go to for me, have you tried a G26 with a 15rd mag? it also works real well for me.
26 is edc, and have backup 17 mags with the xgrips to give it a full grip
Shorter grip for carry, longer grip for home defense.
I’m a Glock 19 guy myself gen 5 19 been my edc for 2 to 3 years
Hickok precision is top notch.
I'm not a Glock guy, not cuz I don't like them, but cuz in my country there is an official dealer for CZ and the price of gun are double than in the US, so is the price difference between Glock an CZ is double as well.
The aquivalent to G 19 would be the P 07 and to G 17 the P 09 all DA/SA that is what I prefer for dig carry. But cuz of the grip lengh I carry a P 10 S striker (12+1) with a 21 round spare mag.
I am married for 3 years to just one carry gun.
I'm a small guy with very big hands and I might be the only guy who uses the xl back straps on the grips, but the grip of the P 09 sticks out in lengh a lot in a human hand for nothing more than make consilement impossible. With the P 10 S I have a two finger grip for the short mag, that doesn't bother me at all. I milled all guns for a red dot, so sight radius doesn't matter, but velocity to me matters a lot for segure holopoint expantion and to get out the max of a tiny 9 mm. That's why I stoped carrying my DA only single stack micro nine from SIG.
My P 07 is a 22 lr and I don't want to buy another gun in 9 mm. My P 09 is in 9 mm and I use it for fun. It is my race gun, it would be a dream to carry the gun I shoot the best. It has a closed emitter red dot and slide cuts, a comp and even a longer threated barrel over 5". The longer slide makes it even more comfotible to carry cuz there is more gun in your paints and the grip is easier to grab for a better initial hand on the gun cuz it rides higher.
I'm thinking about cutting the grip down to a 15 round mag. Or even a 12 round mag, but then it ain't no race gun any longer.
You Glock guys have good factory options.
The older I get the more I understand: You don't need the gun you shoot the best on the range you need it in your hands when it counts. I work as a bodyguard. Glock understands that too.
I have a glock45 and a czp10 I’m for sure getting a couple more glzys before another anything else, got the cz so I wasn’t like everyone else but, you’ll end up with a Glock, like it or not it😂
For a carry I would like the 49. For home, my preference would be 45.
I agree. I keep a Glock 45 with a light and a 23 round extended mag on my bedside table. I can’t shoot like Hickok so I have an extended mag😂

I'm not a gun guy at all. I have a weapon for basic self-defense, target shoot only enough to try to keep my skills sufficient enough to not be a menace to myself or others, and watch videos like those of Hickok45 to try to learn how to be a safer gun owner overall. But if anyone could make me a gun guy, Hickok45 could. I'd happily spend an afternoon on the range with him just to enjoy his company. We wouldn't even have to shoot anything.
I prefer my 19 with a threaded barrel over the 49. Same barrel length but more versatile.
I think I'd like the 49/ Load it with the plus 1 equals 16 rounds; two G17 magazines is 34 rounds so one box of 50. Handy. Get the 49 with G17 back up magazines. But I think I shoot the G23 better.
Not a Glock fanboy but I certainly get the shorter grip with full size slide. What is the benefit of the large grip with a short slide?

It’s probably an early 19 gen 5 slide. Thats what it looks like.

I'm just the opposite. I noticed the hump more on the 19 frame. Maybe cause I've got smaller hands.
if I'm correct the custom backstrap i casted is for the 45. I don't have real pews.I just know it's popular.Even in the AirPew World Glock is Popular and Umarex makes some cool replicas of it.

I love my g19. I trust more than all my other pistols
