Never quite understood the rationale for bells and sirens after an earthquake has already started. Everyone at that point knows what is happening. All it does is get people worked up even more.
At least in Japan, the sirens start the second any seismic activity starts, even before the people feel it. The same goes for tsunami.
Nobody can predict an earthquake ok? Its just a reminder that your government is alarming you and then you know rescue is coming. Atleast you feel you are not alone.

Clearly the Philippines government needs to step up on its information drive on safety protocols. The compilation of videos show how poorly informed its constituents are in these situations. Not shielding themselves under sturdy tables, not running to structureless ground, not standing in front of glass and so much more. Cambridge Analytica is still working its magic for the dictators son and that allotted budget should have gone to information campaigns for health and safety rather than fake news and smear campaigns.
