Thanks man. Forgot them today - took them out of the bag to shoot this thumbnail! Porbably would have helped. Went 1 for 5 on Largemouth. Most just weren't hitting it very hard.
Good to know! :P Your last couple vids on the Mon were crazy with how many Drum were there. I always caught my biggest ones in late winter or early spring on the Ohio.
I use the leftover gulp juice to add to bags of soft plastics.imo it does work i also noticed that if you have clear baits it will turn the clear milky white. After a couple of months it will turn to the color of maple syrup but wont effect the original color
New subscriber. I am a firm believer in using scents, especially in cold and stained/muddy water. I have used Procure (panfish scent) but I mostly use the Berkley Gulp scent and their crappie nibbles and have seen a huge increase in the amount of bites I get by using them verses not using them. I am a bank fisherman (lots of ultralight fishing and finesse bass fishing) that fishes at public, high pressured ponds/lakes and I can't count how many times I have caught fish using the Berkley products and seeing other people around me catching nothing and talking to them and finding out they are not using scents. They usually come up to me and ask, "what are you using?" I have tested many times by fan casting an area without the scent and get nothing then tip the jig with a crappie nibble and fan cast the same area and get multiple bites. I always have them in my bag.
Good to know. The last trip out I realized the Nikko Helgrammite - one of my top lures - is also scent-impregnated. So far it seems to make a difference on tough days especially.
Personally never found much advantage to using scent on moving baits. Have had some success using it for catfish. One thing i know for sure, no matter how tight you tighten that lid, it always seems to find a way to leak into your tackle bag and ends up all over everything, and can be pretty potent on a hot summer day
On tough days, the smallmouth scent has made a difference. Crayfish scent on a tube has been great. On days when they're biting, I forget to try it. :) For trout, I have one from Dynamic Lures called L7 that so far seems better than the Trophy Trout.
Did your pro cure come with a lid u had to peel off or was it already opened? Mine came with no lid(not sure if there is any in the first place) but looks used
Scents will increase your catch rate and size. I have prototype jigs that improve how long the scents absorb and remain on the jigs. I won 11 out 13 team tournaments in the Carolina's late 2000's. Procure works great with zman soft plastics. Works best during cold water months.
All makes sense. We've got a slight warmup coming this week, so I'm hoping to get out 2 or 3 days for Smallies and use the Pro-Cure on them. So far Trout - seems to make a difference. LMB - none of us caught anything. with or without it.
The other day I had about 20 small fish surrounding my zMan Grub that has pro cure scent on it. They were obviously attracted to the amino acids in the attractant.
I have used pro-cure,fish sticks, baitmate and smelly jelly. At the end of the day your tackle box and everything else smells like whatever scent you use.
Like all products I review, I'll do more detailed testing and evaluation during the next several months. But I'm happy to use any advantage permitted to catch mroe fish.
You should go to a pond full of bluegill and fish against someone else and both of you fishing with a piece of sponge (maybe a piece of foam earplug) soaked up in 2 different scents and evaluate each one that way. Bluegill and Largemouth are both in the same sunfish family and I’d bet they like similar scents to a degree. Maybe first scent to catch 10 bluegill wins that round. You’d want to both be fishing the same diameter lines to make it equally fair. Bluegill are a lot easier to catch fast than bass. My moneys on earthworm but I’ve never used it.
@@AaronHuntFishing I’d only apply it once also. Longevity is important. I for one don’t want to have to constantly be applying more scent. Berkley Scientists claim bass can’t smell oil based scents because oil doesn’t dissolve in water. Saltwater anglers use menhaden oil for chum and it apparently works on saltwater species. I’d like to see that test done. Oil vs water base scents.
@@jamesbarron1202 I've read that as well. Which is why I started with this stuff. But, organic fish-based oils could be different than synthetic or petroleum-based oils as well.
@@AaronHuntFishing there’s a guy with a catfishing RUclips channel and he test Pam cooking spray on his cut Shad in more than one video and the Pam out produces plain Shad. He heard about how good it works and had to test it.
I like the smallest 2", 1/5 ounce size best because I can throw it on almost all my set-ups. I also have the slightly larger 1/4 ounce in a couple colors. But across the size range it's not a huge size change.
They have them on TW for 6.98 that size and I am on there email list and had a 20% discount code and got them for 5.58 a piece. I grabbed around 10 in Diff craw patterns Thanks.
I'll probably make him up a "Best Of" kit that he can replenish at Walmart, BPS, and Cabelas. He has all those near him. That might be a good video to make! :P Of course, now he might read this and know it's coming! (I think he mostly reads the comments on my Facebook posts though). I guess we'll find out! Hi Dad! :)
Curious to hear who uses scents and who doesn't!
Check out all the Pro-Cure scents available at Fish USA: alnk.to/90y9dvZ
I don't go fishing without a few different scents. I don't always use it but it sure does help. Another nice video mate

I used scent all last year and its made a big difference in my experience. I think proof for me is how many drum I have caught since utilizing scents!

I've seen guys to that as well. I don;t usually use the gulp baits either, so maybe I'll go deeper after trying the pro-cure.

That's my biggest concern - the stinky creeping into everything. :P
What's the verdict here? Should I get some too?

I don't think mine had peel-off lids either. Smallmouth Crush seemed to help yesterday... :)
@@AaronHuntFishing Thanks for the fast reply! Also, has the trophy trout gel helped u catch more trout? Still kinda skeptical on it

Nice evidence!
i dont always use it. but when the bites tough i always got a small bottle of procure to help save the day.
So far I'm 1 for 2 with it on tough days. Once the wether warms I'll do some more structured testing.
I use it a ton inshore fishing! Works great!

Yeah, so far my gloves have definitely had a smell... :P
Scents may not work...but attractants do! I'm using Pro Cure Butt Juice ATM. Previously Shimanos S factor (Australian Product) which is also great.
That's what I'm hoping to experience - that these things make a difference.
I don't used this stuff yet 😅 good to know 😉
