Sadly, at midlife, I've been searching for a woman who has the courage to love but for the life of me, I can't find her. You would think that women my age would have learned from their past discontented relationships that what they thought was love was not love but all manner of illusions about love. Such inevitable pain and disillusionment would give them the incentive to seek what constitutes real love from those who know better. Unfortunately, the vast majority of women in midlife seem to have lost the desire to love. It is as if they were traumatized, not so much by men, but by the wrong ideas that had of love before they got into a relationship. what makes matters worst is that they are not even AWARE that their understanding of love was misguided hence they project blame mostly on men but also on themselves and see themselves as failures when in reality they had the wrong ideas of love.
So yes, it takes bravery to deal with our unresolved pent up negative feelings, our character defects, our confusion about love and neurosis. Without doing so, we will end up with another short lived relationship and become demoralized all over again. The only way to stop this madness hence earn the love of another is for women AND men is to take Tamsen's challenge but who is willing to take it? It is as if you are asking too much of men and women and this is true but how else are we going to love in the right way? After 16 years of involuntarily living alone, my hope of finding a women who understands what Tamsen said in this video is nowhere to be found. It seems women would rather live alone with a pet than live with a man. Some women in midlife SAY they want a relationship but they don't really mean it since they never show up when we agree to meet on a date. I can see why many men are angry about all this but it's more complicated than they realize as I've just explained.
