So glad you are here now!
I’m watching a lot of 2023-knit-roundup videos and just found you. You’re fun to watch, congrats on a happy year of beautiful and smart knitting!!
Beautiful work! Well done!!!!😊
Woo excited for this!
What an incredible year! That folklore cardigan is just beautiful!
I am absolutely in love with your work Mandy! Such a joy to see you grow as a knitter! ❤❤
Loved to see this recap of all your knits of 2023!
Thanks for watching!
I love seeing everything you made and following along! Love love love the scrap pillow and folklore cardigan especially!
Thanks so much Steph!
Lovely Folklore cardigan! My Swiftie sweater is a stockinette MAROON saddle shoulder sweater 😂 love your videos Mandy! ❤
Ahh! Maroon was one of my surprise songs when I saw the eras tour. I bet your sweater is BEAUTIFUL!
I always enjoy your videos so much - thank you for sharing all of your knitting goodness ❤
Thanks for watching!
I was waiting for this video ! So many cool knits, and I'm definitely gonna dare myself to cast on a Whitmoor cardigan this year, just can't decide if I want to make it more of a cooperey color or go full on dusty artichoke !
The pink dress looks bomb on you! My favourite thing you made this year ✨
The pink dress looks amazing on you ❤❤ your folklore cardigan is beautiful too…. lots of good info and appreciate the details you give on each… thank you
Great video! Loved the cadence and your sense of humor!
Watched this while working on my folklore cardigan (which I have been enjoying working on SO much even though I was previously a cable hater), and I just wanted to say that your Swiftie enthusiasm really warmed my heart. I'm so excited to finally be doing this project and your genuine excitement and contentedness about a project that truly combines things you love is so motivating. I can't wait to cozy up in mine when it's done!
I've been in love with your Harlow sweater since you first finished it! I may have to make one for myself this year since I'm now more confident in knitting sweaters for myself :)
You should definitely do it!
I am loving everything! When you said you knitted a bulky weight dress, I doubted you for a moment there, but it is STUNNING and you look amazing in it! As a DC native, it gets a little colder in Jan/Feb, but you're right, not much. There's like one day in the teens but it's usually above freezing. I need to go somewhere where I can really test out the warmth of my sweaters!
Yes, we'll have some cold days but not too many! I'm originally from Pittsburgh which is only 4 hours away, but even there I feel like the air is just *colder* than DC haha.
i love when you pat yourself on the back for 10mins! I am right there with you cheerleadering you on haha! always love your sass too!
OMG that dress is amazing, Mandy! Happy New Year from Southside Virginia.
Hi Mandy! A beautiful year of knits and that pink dress looks gorgeous on you! I also have similar problems with certain yarns when I weave in ends - you can definitely see the weave-in line on the right side of the fabric. What I find helps is to unweave some of the yarn, leaving just enough woven to keep the yarn join secure, but then let the unwoven yarn just hang loosely on the inside so that there is no risk of the “join” coming apart. Hope that makes sense, Happy New Year!
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to give that a try
Ok that pink dress is amazing! That is your color! You just glowed in it! You're gorgeous in any color but I was like WOW!! Just found you and I loved this video! I am pretty new to garment knitting and always looked for new beginner friendly patterns that also level up my knitting. Thanks for the great feedback on so many patterns!
The winona dress looks stunning on you!!! 🤩🥰
I love the scrappy pillow! I’d be more likely to finish that than a scrappy blanket. More pillows in 2024!
Watching this while i knit on my sweetshop and your folklore cardigan is giving me such envy!!
I'm SO tempted to knit up the folklore cardigan!! It looks like such a dreamy project
It is slog but SO worth it in the end!
Wow!! I love you end of year roundup videos. Your knitting is always so pretty and fresh and most of all, I love how real you are when you don't like something you've made. I have the same problem with some of my knits too but it's okay! I especially love your dress - it looks awesome on you, so here - allow me to pat you on the back!! Gorgeous make!! Happy new year and hugs from Texas!!
It is all apart of the creating process! Thanks so much for watching and the kind comments!
Oh, I love your Folklore cardigan! I would love to make one, but I don’t know if I have the patience at this point in time lol!
My first time to watch your podcast. Not my last! BTW, I like the blue tank top on you and thought the fit was great.
Thank you for watching, glad you found the channel!
Your Folklore Cardigan is the best knit I've ever seen! It's so good!
Ahh such a huge compliment, thank you!
I’m only at the first cardigan…the lilac one. It’s very pretty and I think your proposed modifications would absolutely make that sweater younger and fresher. As a fairly new knitter, it was helpful for me to think about the mods and see the potential of customizing. I vote (lol, as if I have a vote!) for cropping and shortening the sleeves!😊
I love your understanding of fashion and fit and how fiber works ! The algorithm did me good on this . Your rite on the color of the blue tank top , throw that baby in a nice black bowl of coffee !
I think that a lot of summer knits are not size appropriate, rather than not being size inclusive. I think it’s up to us curvy girls to figure out some more flattering designs for ourselves that still check the “summer” box!
the perfect hat is the Cassic Ribbed Beanie by Purl Soho - bit of fabric on the top, but doesn't sit weird. Inspired now to cast on the Whitmoor cardigan!
xoxo
I think I may have knit this for a baby once, will have to give it a try for my adult sized head!
Your Winona Dress is stunning! 💕👏🏾🧶
The marysia cardigan suits you so well!!
Maybe try dyeing the Ingrid top? That way you can experiment and hopefully get more wear out of it!
Oh this is a fabulous idea!
happy youtube anniversary! i found you last year from your 2022 knits video and seeing your progress from 2021 to the end of 2022 really inspired me to start knitting again 🫶🏼
honored to be apart of your knitting journey!
We chatted in DMs about the Harlow v-neck and it was my NYE cast on!! The i-cord is like knitting magic. LOVE these knits -- also genuinely dying at the fit of the dress on you! Waist shaping really showed up.
Ahh yes! What a great cast on for NYE :) Hope you love your harlow!
You made so many great items last year. Even the things that didn't work out still look interesting to me as a total newbie, and seems like you had some good learning experiences. Your "Barbie" dress in particular is just wonderful. If you're worried about structural integrity, perhaps anchoring it to a woven slip/lining could help?
i love your honesty!! not all patterns/yarn combos can be winners and that’s okay
You look amazing in the dress!!
Hoping to hear the details on the gorgeous purple sweater you’re wearing omg!
It is the ankers sweater by petite knit made in knittting for olive dusty purple held double!
@@knitsbymandy it’s beautiful thank you!
You look awesome in that dress! What a gorgeous piece
Thank you!
Hey There Mandy. Sally from Australia here. I have been knitting 60 years.
Knitting in panels was how I learnt, and vintage patterns will be written this way. The fit is better under the arms than round yokes, which always seem to have so much fabric under the arms.
Joining yarns. I too lay the new yarn over the old and knit several stitches, however I was taught to do this as much as possible at the end/beginning of a row, which avoids that odd look you mentioned. If you are working in the round, this could be on the side seam position where it would be less noticeable. I have tried other joining techniques but I do come back to this one again and again.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you Sally! Yes, the fit of a seamed sweater is really unmatched. Thanks for the tip with joining as well!
Hold plz - pausing you while I go queue the Folklore Cardi. Wow on yours - really fantastic job. Loved the video 🥰
thank you, thank you!
Oh, about the joins visible in the dress: I had that problem recently on a cotton-merino yarn. I literally knotted the ends together on the inside and called it good.
Lovely!
Your pink cardigan can be tied around your shoulders.
The color looked famous on you!
Happy Journey into the New Year 🎶🎶🎶😉🎶🎶🎶
I was knitting and watching this video while my 4 yo sister was sitting by my side playing, and that’s a convo we had:
Baby sister: - Who is that ?
Me: - It’s a girl, she is showing what she made this year.
- Oh really? That’s cool!
*v-neck sweater comes up*
Baby sister: WOWWW she is beautiful!!!
For the record, you look fabulous in the pink dress 😉.
The hater shoutout and kiss 😅 I love it!!!
The pink sweater is so pretty, too bad it doesnt resonate with you, why dont you sell it, how much would you sell it for if you did that? I know sometimes things just dont feel right, but it is honestly lovely, you could tuck it away too, sometimes our style changes and things happen, dont frog that beauty.😮💨 The scrap pillow is so adorable, very satisfying to get those scraps out and make a piece of art. It is very important to keep that creative process going in your knitting world. The pink dress is beautiful on you, congrats on that!
the kiss to the hater🎉😂😊😂…loved this video.
haha that particular comment my boyfriend and I quote to each other regularly
🧶🧶❄️👋🏽
2023 was not the year for the Whitmoor cardigan 😅
I think some styles are not for larger people. I understand why designers make their patterns size inclusive but not everything looks good on everyone. I’m a larger woman and wouldn’t wear some patterns
I hope you were saying the “world is warming” tongue in cheek. If not, you may want to check the temperatures across the US compared to those that normally occur in most areas in the winter.
your taste in music is questionable
