Sleeper Boy! @4:35 pretty cool mod in my opinion, Obviously wasn't going for exterior mod, the sleeper look is always a kick in the butt when around regular gameboy users.
This is a great way to get a rechargeable battery without needing to file a hole for a port. Would way rather have to take the cover off than deal with all that.
@@rainbowrepair5692 yep thats my plan, also I am doing it to a backlit gameboy pocket, and Im going to wire it to the battery terminals. Using an external battery with a charge indicator should help with losing saved data and also provide a constant voltage
Hello! Congrats on the cool Game Boy Color mod. I'm looking to do a similar modification as the one you talk about in your video, and I was wondering if you had encountered any problems with your Game Boy since you've installed the mod. Is everything running smoothly and how its supposed to? How many hours of gameplay do you get off of a 1200 mAh battery? (I'm looking to use a 2000 mAh one)
I imagine this would be pretty much the same process to put a rechargeable battery into a normal Game Boy, odd that i cant find a video of people doing that...
Yea its basically the same idea. If i still had a plain ol grey dmg id do a video on that, but the last one i have is a green play it loud and that one id like to not cut into. Unless i find a battery suitable in size and capacity im happy with
seems some guys did add a diode to protect the gb from overvolting..i thought the chip already got overvolting protection..or did he feed the gb color with more then 3.7V sometimes?
@@rainbowrepair5692 thanks, was just concern. you seem to know alot about electronics. Which is better for battery life: 2 AA NIMH 2000mah each totaling 4000mah, or a 2000mah lipo battery? allegadly i shoud be getting more life from double AA's right?
@@jonathanmsantos5405 in regards to playtime battery life, the maH is what determines that. The more maH the longer itll last. Doesnt matter whether its nimh or lipo.
@@LetsHikeRhodeIsland thank you for the kind words. I used a double sided sticky tape. It makes it easy for mento gently lift the board from the right side to plug in the usb cord. I chose that placement so it looks stock. I know often times people choose to drill out a hole for the port on the side.
Natalie Marie I really like the stock look you went with. It looks so clean! I appreciate you getting back to me. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Also the green led is awesome

Super informative girl thank you so much! Now I can finish my girlfriends Gameboy for Christmas 🤙💯🔥

Think you could maybe do a video on the power led?
Check out that green LED 😎 Cool little unit 👍
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!! Thank you for uploading this
Lol thank you. I included a link in the description just now for the board
Is there anything special to do to swap the power led? Also great mod I ordered the boards today!!!
Woohoo! Awesome. And just make sure the led is a 3mm.
I couldn’t cut into the original shell it would’ve killed me so I just bought an aftermarket to put a port in. Although I like the way you did it.
Thank you
which double sided tape did you use and which wire/diameter for connecting?
Very cool ive got to try this on my gbc.👍👍👍
would this work if you only added the power control module and no battery if you only wanted to power from an external power supply?
I would assume it would work if you had the usb plugged in with an external source like a battery bank but i havent tried that without the battery yet

Its running awesome no issues. As far as hours of play not sure but it feels endless

Did who feed the gb color with more than 3.7v? Anyhow, the gb color can operate between 3v and 5v. The gba is strictly 3v.
have you notice battery/lipo getting warm/hot while charging? thanks
No i have not. But i wouldnt be surprised if you saw that since it is charging.

Natalie Marie BTW did you glue the board to the battery?
