Characters often don't look masculine or feminine enough, and it's impossible to get githyanki or githzerai that are thin enough to really look accurate. I'd really like to be able to make hands and feet smaller, and make the neck longer/shorter and slimmer/thicker. I'd like to be able to make thin and fat characters that don't just look like the contours are being adjusted along all normal axes uniformly. Idea, to show Lawrence's progression through the campaign, maybe have more and more magic effects, from small smoke to ginormous pillars of flame. And, also, since Lawrence is a telekinesis man, maybe eventually having like generation 12's (kidding) use the double model as a floating, force choked person would be cool?
I’m curious, what background does everyone have? Lawrence is easily Noble, and Vriloth’s a Pirate, but what about the rest? I’m guessing Gernommy is a Charlatan, no?
I think Gernommy is actually a Spy, don't ask me why he's not a Charlatan- this is the rest of the list Lawrence - Noble Vice - Soldier Gernommy - Spy Vriloth - Sailor Daax - Urchin Briar - Hermit Valys - Bounty Hunter Grakk - Folk Hero
It's a combination of two things- Poster edges filter from Photoshop, as well as Xaph, the player of Vice, doing some very extensive background colouring work with various brushes and gradients to achieve the colourful glow background behind the characters themselves
Amazing work as always, I do have one question for you. What program, or filter do you use to get the portrait themed pictures on your models? My party loves the comic book theme and would love to have slightly edited portraits compared to just our heroforge models.
Hey there! I'm the person behind Derf's portraits and thumbnails - I personally use photoshop, the "Poster edges" Filter is what achieves the dark, comic-y effects on the model. The background is a quick digital paint with one of my favourite photoshop brushes, but a similar effect can be achieved with base brushes. The dark border is digitally painted too. If you have anybody in your party that's used to digital art, and is able to make a preset? It becomes fairly quick to achieve. Best of luck to you and your party!
More likely the latter, yeah! Will see though, it depends. The old DnD videos were always full ground-up overhauls, but smaller updates to existing models I may be able to make more often
The player of Vice, Xaph, puts the models at the end through a Poster Edges filter in Photoshop, and then through a lot of meticulous colour bruishing and gradient effects creates the juicy glowy background to them as well
