Lame
We sure had a lot of fantastic movies in 2023. I'm looking forward to seeing your Worst of the Year list.
We sure have
I’m excited lol
Poor things is number 2 for me and killers of the flower moon is number one
Some of these picks above Anatomy of a Fall is crazy hahaha but it is your opinion so I respect it. Looking forward to the top 10!
Hell yeah, appreciate the respect 🫡
Wow i did not see coming Anatomy of a Fall to be out of the top 25… outrages 😀
Gooooooood
A+ video!
Awesome 25-11 ranked films for 2023!
Been waiting for this one!!!
Keep doing the Lord's work, Austin. Love these EOY rankings.
Great vid, Austin! Hope 2024 will be an even better year for movies. My top two films of 2023:
1. Killers of the Flower Moon
2. Oppenheimer
2023 has been quite a solid year for movies (except for superheroes 😂), looking forward to see which movies that will rule the award shows next year 🤗
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse being the only exception to this year's list of dreadful superhero films
So glad that YOU had a baby this year! Congrats man
She’s the most wonderful girl
@@AustinBurke great to hear man !
the surprises mannn i was expecting similar to your letterboxd list but i was happily surprised by this video
🙌🏻
As usual, your lists are not only interesting in an of themselves, but I also thoroughly enjoy your discussions of why they don't make your top ten. Can't take issue with any of the films you've included in 11-25, although my top 10 includes, Poor Things, May December, and American Fiction (I haven't seen Killers of the Flower Moon yet, so I can't guess where that will go on my list, if at all). Can't wait to see your top 10.
❤️
Austin, my husband and I started watching your channel late last year and we have been watching you regularly all year. Thank you for amazing reviews and giving us great content! We’ve seen so many movies because of you and we love your work. Happy New Year!
Very nice of you to say! Appreciate y’all a ton. Your support means the world!
Good list!

I feel like the film AIR didn’t get enough love this year . It was great!!
It’s coming 👀
@@AustinBurke thank you good sir ! 😎👍🇺🇸
I'm with you regarding your Barbie placement 😎
LET'S GO!!
Great video.......i'm just mad I can't find any showings of American Fiction in North Carolina till January. Gonna try and catch Maetro, May/December, Color Purple and Past Lives this weekend.
Yeah Killers of Flower Moon and Poor Things were great but I think I enjoyed the performances a tad more than the movie.
I’m so ready for the top 10 👀
I saw Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 in the theater also, LOVE IT!
GIVE US THE TOP 10 DAMN IT!!
As a fan of Todd Haynes, i'm quite excited to know that May December is actually my favourite movies of his. Charles Melton better get an Oscar nomination for his work and if he actually wins, i'd be happy
💯

I can see 'Godzilla: Minus One' *STOMPING* it's way to #1 🦶
I can even see 'Air' *JUMPING* it's way to #1 🏀
Can't wait to see the final outcome though
Godzilla #1 dammit lol. (I know it’s Spider-man” Probably)
I have a really outside the box pick for my #1 that nobody is talking about. Cannot wait until Austin drops his 10-1 video so I can bring this to the table
Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse for #1
You forgot u can see the holdovers holding over to#1
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 or Oppenheimer is mine. It kinda switches between the two. Good contenders are Spider-Man and Godzilla though.
Ok now you have me interested in a society of the snow and I’ve never heard of it
For the Record, I’ve seen 63 new releases this year and some films like The Colour Purple and Poor Things aren’t out here yet
11: The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
12: May December
13: Saltburn

24: No one will Save You
25: The Marvels
Honourable Mentions: It’s a Wonderful Knife, The Wrath of Becky, Evil Dead Rise, Talk to Me, Thanksgiving
I agree with a lot of your list so far. I think personally though, I would have Spider verse in the top 15 (this list) I think it’s good. I just don’t LOVE IT like everyone else. And.. Wonka. Would go straight to number one!.. I love that film tbh.
Danm I really thought KIllers of the Flower Moon and MI 8 would make to top 10. I am really looking forward to your Top 10.
Its such a relief to find out I'm not the only one who likes DnD more than Mutant mayhem
I'm seeing Ferrari tomorrow hopefully and I plan on seeing Rebel Moon , Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Killer on Friday and Saturday. So by Sunday, I'll know my top 25 list.
Same. I found Barbie enjoyable, but it didn’t captivate me enough to be my favorite movie of 2023. By the way, I only watched Barbie for the first time last night, just before heading to work.
01:09 Thank You
I'll join you with my so far 11-15 spots on my ranking(things change with every 2023 film I see since there are a lot of films that I want to se or see the potential in)
11. Barbie
12.Wonka
13. Five Nights at Freddie's
14.Nelly Rapp - Mirror of Death
15. The Nun 2
glad I wasn’t the only one who thought of the palpatine connection in Flower Moon lol
Honorable mentions based of what i have seen:
11) Barbie (8.5/10)
12) Extraction 2 (8/10)
13) Scream 6 (8/10)
14) Super Mario Bros movie (8/10)
15) Evil Dead Rise (8/10)

22) Cocaine Bear (7/10)
23) No Hard Feelings (7/10)
24) Flash (6.5/10)
25) Shazam FOTG (6.5/10)
11:00 I LOVE Doakes!!! His presence on the show was so impactful that it felt like he (25 Episodes) was in the show just as much as Quinn (72 Episodes).
If you have The Holdovers as your #1 of this year, we would have the same #1 movie pick for 2 years in a row. Top Gun Maverick & The Holdovers. I am bringing you down to my pedestrian level 🤣🤣🤣. You may surprise me and pick Oppenheimer, though. We will see...
Any plans to review What If? season 2? It's been outstanding so far IMO.
Sanctuary was really good I found it so underrated
Currently just outside of my Top 10 are some lesser known gems like The Teacher's Lounge, Sick of myself, Hunger, Deep Sea and Holy Spider (technically a 2022 release but a 2023 release in my country). They are really good if you haven't seen them!
Haven’t seen those, thanks!!
I remembered Jarnathan during the 21th place.
🤣🤣
Killers of the flower moon is my number 4 movie this year and mission impossible 7 is my number one this year
My guess for Austin top three - oppenheimer, Godzilla minus one, iron claw
Don’t forget The Holdovers, he gave that a 100 percent
I’m tryna get a couple more movies in before the year wraps up so I probably won’t have my list til the 5th of January 😅
Do the ranking of TMNT movies
My Top Ten BEST Films of 2023:
10. Talk to Me (best horror of the year)
9. Maestro
8. Air
7. Blackberry
6. Anatomy of a Fall
5. Godzilla: Minus One
4. Poor Things
3. The Iron Claw
2. The Holdovers
1. OPPENHEIMER
15:20 “WHAT?! You put a Marvel movie in your Top 10 over Scorsese?! Blasphemy! Don’t you enjoy CINEMA?” - Film Twitter 🤓
Anyways great list of honorable mentions, some of these would make my Top 10.
Hehehe cinema
It's an okay film with superb technical elements and fantastic acting performances. 🤷♂️
This is my list, Talk To Me was a fantastic horror film and would be around 12th but I’ve ranked it as a 2022 film:
25. Priscilla
24. Nimona
23. The Killer
22. Dungeons & Dragons
21. Missing
20. Flora and Son
19. Creed 3
18. Saltburn
17. Rye Lane
16. Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and snakes
15. Dream Scenario
14. How to Have Sex
13. MI7
12. Air
11. Godzilla Minus One (I just watched it and it was awesome, could possibly be like top 8 on a rewatch)
Finally, someone else who’s seen How to Have Sex
@@fashionablechangeling1988 Yea very under-appreciated, great film deserves much more recognition
By the way do you watch Speak No Evil Movie?
My prediction for Austin’s top 10 in no particular order are John Wick 4, Air, Past Lives, spiderverse, Oppenheimer, Holdovers, Godzilla Minus One, Iron Claw, Zone of Interest, Guardians
You got 9 out of 10 of his actual picks!
Hi, Austin. How are you? IS IT OPPENHEIMER OR SPIDER-VERSE?????????????
society of snow is based on true events, i really enjoyed the movie
I know for sure The Holdovers, Across the Spider-Verse and Oppenheimer are in the Top 10
It stung only having Mission Impossible DRP1 only at #12. That is my 2nd favorite movie of the year
Interesting that you preferred Suzume over The Boy and the Heron. Personally I really enjoyed Suzume, however it was much closer to Weathering With You than Your Name imo, and while The Boy and the Heron isn’t one of Miyazaki’s best I still think it’s a very strong addition to his incredible filmography
Mission Impossible and Killers of the Flower Moon outside of the top 10 Come on man, you can't do that!
“Jussssst a bit outside”
@@AustinBurke How could you?! 😢
Red Rooms is the most surprising film I've seen this year
Here's my top 10
1. Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse
2. Oppenheimer
3. Super Mario Bros.
4. Godzilla Minus One
5. TMNT Mutant Mayhem
6. Wonka
7. Blue Beetle
8. M3GAN
9. Five Nights at Freddy's
10. The Flash
😬 I like your top 2, though
Dude really you have Wonka over Anatomy of a Fall
I mean, yeah, I thought the video was pretty clear 😂
@@AustinBurke you like what you like but it’s certainly an unpopular take
@@wesleywarren7227nah i would also put wonka over anatomy of a fall
Is that “Monica” On your shelf? I hope you give it a watch before you put out the rest of your list :p it’s in my personal top 4 of the year. Criminally underseen.
00:99 I'm just here so I don't get fined!
bro plz watch Leo Tamil
What abt The Color Purple
You look like Di Caprio man.
The plane crash movie about the soccer players has been made at least two other times. I don't think this one will get a nomination.....been there, done that.
I’m willing to bet money on it lol
I'll take that bet. One WHOLE dollar! @@AustinBurke
7:36 more like bored to me
D&D is easily my favorite Huge Grant performance.
Granted (not pun intended) I can't stand his style of Rom-Coms so the bar is exceedingly low
TOP 25 BEST MOVIES OF 2023:
11. Still: A Michael J Fox Movie
12. Are You There God, It's Me Margaret?
13. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Movie
14. Rye Lane

21. They Cloned Tyrone
22. Nimona
23. Air
24. Flora & Son
25. American Fiction
🤨I don't know what to say....
Say it
Reading some of the comments has cracked me up. Some people take this so personally! This is all subjective and your opinion. Everyone will have a different list- there's no objective "right" list :) It's one thing to share that you disagree but to frame it as "this list is wrong because it has/ doesn't have this movie" is silly. Unless everyone is kidding, and then I'm the silly one for not picking up on that. Hahaha.
I agreed with some and disagreed with others, but it was fun to watch! You covered a lot of ground and you talked about some movies I haven't heard of (I don't tend to see a lot of action and superhero movies but I would like to see more good ones).
You knew it was coming, but Poor Things at no.17 is just bad taste.
Leo, Jailer and Animal would have definitely made it into the list if you had seen them
Indian bias
Where is 1-10? I didn't get it.
The covenant is not based on a true story
KY hahaha
Hell yeah
I did not enjoy Creed 3 at all...character development was WAY too rushed. Guy basically gets out of prison and immediately gets a title shot?? Did not buy that for a second.
Barbie is not in your top 25? But Evil Dead Rise is? I can't even watch the rest of this...
Why are you putting question marks when it is very clear that that is the case? Deal with it
@@AustinBurke NEVER!!!!!
Although, I guess, on the other hand, okay.
Lol
U have been wearing caps and beanies a lot these days, why 🤔
Very simple
I don’t have time to get a haircut lmao
@@AustinBurke u look cute either way
Barbie gotta go...In my humble opinion this one was junk. All hype
Really?KOTFM not in top 10 but Oppenheimer is?Terrible
Ever heard of opinions?
@@fashionablechangeling1988 ever heard of having good opinions?
I’m genuinely curious, has anyone else noticed a shift in this guy in recent years? He’s so hard on unique and innovated genre films, yet he’s so damn soft on mediocre blockbusters nowadays. He used to be my favorite RUclips critic, but this list was utter dog shit. I really started losing respect for him after he called sound of freedom an amazing film, and he seems to always be extremely soft on war propaganda films/ anything with authoritarian undertones. I’m starting to wonder if he even knows what he’s talking about or if he’s just a corporate shill critic now.
It’s amazing how idiotic you sound. Respect my opinion or piss off. It’s called growing up. You should try it.
As I get older and more cynical, my tastes deviate more and more from critics that it's pointless to complain and look for ulterior motives. Breakfast All Day is probably the closest to my tastes. Burke is a solid dude.
@@AustinBurke you’ve been getting a lot of criticism past two videos and haven’t been taking it very well. Little insecure maybe?
@@wolflarson71 appreciate the honest feedback, maybe he’s just not for me anymore.
These are two of my biggest most opinion-based videos of the year. Of course they will receive the most criticism because people don’t know how to accept other people’s opinions in 2023. Use your brain. Much of the criticism is fine because it is just people disagreeing. Yours is moronic because you begin using terms like “corporate shill,” and honestly, I just lose respect for people that use those words. You speak of me not knowing what I’m talking about, yet you returned for my top 10 video to leave another snarky and insanely disrespectful reply. I think you’re either 1. Obsessed or 2. A very typical example of an online troll. Some advice: be respectful. If you were respectful here, I wouldn’t have called you an idiot. But from what I see, you come across as an idiot. Why can’t people just accept others having different taste? It’s so odd. Maybe it’s a mental thing? Idk
Solid honorable mentions.
