This story of Mara Jade, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine(aka Darth Sidious) is something similar to the story of Zuko, Azula and Ozai from Avatar The Last Air Bender
Sidious never had any intention of ever replacing Vader. There is nobody in the whole entire galaxy that is even remotely close to being a quarter of Vader's power let alone someone powerful enough to actually be a threat to him. You want to be Sidious's new apprentice, then you will have to defeat Vader, which is beyond impossible for anyone to ever achieve, since Vader and his power are unrivaled. Even Mara Jade is really weak and pathetic compared to Vader, a true sith juggernaut.
@@timothybarrett7626Galen and Luke would be good choices if Sidious was actually looking for a far weaker apprentice than Vader. Yeah Luke and Galen would be powerful but they wouldn't even come remotely close to being as powerful as Vader was. Nobody matches Vader's unfathomable power in the darkside and skill with the lightsaber and that's why Sidious never did or intended on ever replacing Vader, his only true and worthy apprentice.
@@detroitmade6 Finally someone who actually understands that Starkiller is so overrated. I do agree Luke would be a powerful darkside user and apprentice for Sidious but based on everything we saw from Vader and the very enormous power he wielded, there is absolutely no way Luke would ever come close to being as powerful as that. Vader's unending power in the darkside rivaled and even potentially surpassed Sidious himself, something Luke could never achieve, even with the darkside
I Believe that Vader would have Been the One Treated So Well had He Not Failed on Mustafar Against Kenobi. Think About it, Before Vader Failed on Mustafar He was Being Treated Just as Well by Sidious as Mara would One Day Be. It wasn't Until After Mustafar that Sidious Started Treating Him So Badly. Sidious Still had Use for Vader Because He was Still Powerful, But He would Never Again be Treated Like His Prized Pupil. A Sad Story, But it Always is where Evil is Involved.
In my fan fic Mara was trained by Vader like a daughter to be an Inquisitor/Emperor's Hand. Her father was a Jedi who had survived Order 66 that went into hiding and her estranged mother was the deposed Mando Regent Bo-Katan Kyrze(who thought she was dead).
It fits in with Palpatine's personality, whether or not it was ultimately good for the Empire. I doubt it would have made a difference. If Vader knew she'd be his son's wife, either he'd be amused that he finally is above her or jealous that she's above him in Luke's life.
I think the only reason why Vader should have hated Mara Jade was her directly undermining him and slowing him down. All of the other reasons mentioned wasn't her fault.
I think Palpatine would have also dangled her out in front of Vader... "Oh, wouldn't Anakin Skywalker have a child around the same age as her? ... and she's Force-strong too. Such a pity." And that Palpatine treated her like a daughter.
i can understand not liking someone but i agree with him hating her.there are few things more annoying than knowing your better than someone else having the facts and being stopped from talking it out on them.out and out conflict and conflict that can end or at lest be open is always better than cold war conflict.
I've always wanted a show or series of movies of the dynamics between Mara Jade and Vader and Luke, but seeing the way Disney has gone, I don't want them to destroy another great character. She was always one of my favorites.
Honestly she should have been in force awakens.. I remember in the comics that she was married to Luke it would have made sense that she would have been around Luke... It's like the new films like deleted everything that happened in the comics.... Just like how in the newer films there was no mention of Kyle I'll from the jedi Knight video games who was a student of Luke Skywalker!!
Funny most of people close to Luke often crossed paths with Vader previously. Pretty sure Leia had quite the opinion of Mara Jade though hate would be putting it too strongly
I agree with Vader, she's a complete joke and is unworthy to be at Sidious's side. Unlike Mara Jade, Vader is worthy and is a sith juggernaut who wields unfathomable amounts of power, the true and only apprentice to stand by Sidious. The funniest part is she actually thought she would one day be Sidious's new apprentice even though that is beyond impossible. Mara Jade is so weak and pathetic compared to Vader. Vader's insanely enormous and unending darkside power rivals and even surpasses Sidious himself, the most powerful force user to ever exist, while Mara Jades power is not even equal to a Jedi masters.
Weak and pathetic compared to Vader? You mean the guy who's gotten bitched multiple times both in EU and Disney canon? You mentioned she's not worthy but what makes her any less worthy than Maul, Dooku, Vader or Luke? Also you're right. She's not as strong as most Jedi Masters. She's stronger
@@connorharnage6697 Did you forget that maul got defeated by Obi wan who at the time was a Jedi Padawan. Its completely true that Maul and Dooku were not worthy to be a sith or at Sidious's side. Sidious only used both of them to get the ultimate apprentice which was Anakin Skywalker the chosen one, who later became Darth Vader. Also Mara Jade was eventually killed by Darth Vader's grandson Jacen Solo, who was Leia Skywalkers and and Han Solo's child. You ask what makes Vader more worthy and I'll tell you. It's not only because Vader's power in the darkside is completely unrivaled and unfathomable, making Mauls, Dookus and Mara Jades power look like a tiny speck of sand compared to his which is a whole ocean but it was also the fact that Vader was created by the force itself, to bring balance, something Vader would untimently do in the end. Vader by his peak was many times more powerful than Revenge of the Sith Sidious. Yes the same Sidious who easily killed the most powerful members of the Jedi council and later on defeated Yoda in a 1v1 duel. Again Prime Vader was more powerful than many of those Sidious's combined, so yeah Mara Jade can't even hold a tiny candle to vader. If Mara was more powerful than a Jedi master then why didn't Sidious let her hunt down the dark woman, a very powerful surviving Jedi master, surely it would be a good test for her. It's obvious, Mara Jade isn't even close to being powerful enough to defeat one of the most powerful surviving Jedi still alive, there is no question that Mara would've definitely been slaughtered beyond easily by the dark woman. That's why Sidious sent his 2nd in command, the most powerful alley he has at his disposal and the greatest Jedi killer of all time to take care of her, and Vader did deliver. After a duel, he defeated the very powerful jedi master, dropping an entire tree on her, then cutting her down with his crimson blade. Like Vader said to the defeated dark woman, her might is nothing compared to his. So even if Mara Jade was more powerful than a Jedi master which she is definitely not, it is still not that impressive at all. Anakin's old apprentice Ashoka was equal if not more powerful than a Jedi master and she would completely ragdoll Mara Jade easily. Last but not least, everyone knows that against Luke Vader was conflicted and was seriously holding back. Even Luke himself would mention later on what Vader could've really done to him if he wasn't holding back against the only family he had left.
@@M_03256 I'm not just talking Obi Wan. Are we forgetting about Galen Marek, his clone, Celeste Morne and her Rakghouls, Roblio Darte, Sia-Lan Wezz, Ma'kis'-Shaalas, Koffi Ariana and Jastus Farr who all jumped him on Kessel and obviously Luke Skywalker (holding back or not, Luke still beat him) You do realize Vader bringing balance to the Force would make him the worst choice to be a Sith yeah? Since balance in Star Wars is the destruction of the Sith You say that as if Sidious is this really powerful opponent or something. He does not compare to the likes of Nihilus or Krayt so if you could find a way for Vader to beat them, I'd be impressed. Mara on the other hand was trained by and arguably as skilled as Kyle Katarn, ya know one of the best Jedi not named Luke Skywalker or Revan? That's nothing to sneeze at You're cherry picking. That was when Mara was a lot weaker. Jedi Mara is easily stronger than she ever was during her time at Sidious's side. And I'm not arguing who's more powerful as Sith. We're going peak to peak here. I only asked about the "worthy Sith bit" because that made no sense to me. Also if you think Ashoka can beat ANYONE from Luke's Jedi Order, I'm sorry. You're just wrong. She has shown nothing that puts her above them
@@connorharnage6697 Think whatever you want to but facts are facts. Also all the ancient sith are extremely overrated and far weaker than the modern ones like Vader and Sidious. The truth is Vader has far more victories than losses in both Disney canon and legends, Especially against powerful surviving Jedi. Vader defeated and killed Jedi master Roan Shryne, Jedi master Kirak Infil'a, Jedi master Bol Chatak, Jedi master An'ya Kuro also known as the the dark woman, Jedi master Eeth Koth. Jedi Knight Sia-Lan Wezz, Jedi Knight Ma'kis'shaalas, Jedi Master Shadday Potkin, Jedi Master Koffi Arana, Jedi knight Iwo Kulka, Jedi knight Siadem Fort, Jocasta Nu, Cere Junda, Jedi Knight Kento Marek. Vader defeated Jedi knight Cho'na Bene but let him live, Bene was eventually killed by a blaster bolt from an imperial officer, Vader also killed his master beforehand who's name is unfortunately unknown. These are only some of the surviving Jedi Vader hunted down and killed post order 66, Mustafar.

compared to Vader, a true sith juggernaut.
@@M_03256Luke would be a good replacement Galen not so much the games kinda over hype his feats
As a Sith it makes sense for Vader to feel this way but yeah Palpatine pushed it a bit too far. Going after Luke just made it worse.
Treachery is the way of the Sith
All the more reason for Vader to throw Palp off and kill him. Vader was boiling and waiting for that moment.
@@mlo009 It was no longer about the prophecy in hindsight it was secretly personal
It seems delusions of grandeur are a recurring theme in Star Wars😂
Pretty much. She’s cool but way in over her head. She is no Sith. I prefer her post her Palpatine’s simp phase. Much better as a Jedi.
I think the only reason why Vader should have hated Mara Jade was her directly undermining him and slowing him down. All of the other reasons mentioned wasn't her fault.
Mara Jade was like Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Princess Adora/She-Ra.
I like to think that had Mara been found by the Jedi, the Dark Woman would be her master. It would be ironic.
Sidious really did adopt Ancient Sith traditions in establishing a Sith Faction entirely loyal to him (Servants, Voices, Hands, and Wraths).
This makes me so sad that none of this will ever go on screen. But a great video as always.
Hate does wonders for the soul 😂 Palpatine knew this and played them both against each other powering them both in the dark side
Star wars loves circles are crazy 😂
I've always wanted a show or series of movies of the dynamics between Mara Jade and Vader and Luke, but seeing the way Disney has gone, I don't want them to destroy another great character. She was always one of my favorites.
Still wish we could have seen her in canon
Honestly she should have been in force awakens.. I remember in the comics that she was married to Luke it would have made sense that she would have been around Luke... It's like the new films like deleted everything that happened in the comics.... Just like how in the newer films there was no mention of Kyle I'll from the jedi Knight video games who was a student of Luke Skywalker!!
Can you do a video on Jedi battle masters? 🙏🏼
The most “I don’t care dad, I love her.” ever.
Funny most of people close to Luke often crossed paths with Vader previously. Pretty sure Leia had quite the opinion of Mara Jade though hate would be putting it too strongly
I wonder if Mara knew that Vader was Anakin skywalker
She couldn’t have
Palpi would've NEVER allowed anyone else to have the privilege and pleasure of tormenting Anakin about his past other than himself.
If I recall, vader did insinuate to Mara that she was not the only Hand
But it’s been a decade since I read the novel
Scarlett Johansson as Mara Jade >>>>>>
Amazing.
Palp's favorite assassin becomes the wife of Luke.
Darth Vader in a disapproving breath "This bitch..."
Damn Anakin, I dont known force ghosts have internet
Are we forgetting about Galen Marek, his clone, Celeste Morne and her Rakghouls, Roblio Darte, Sia-Lan Wezz, Ma'kis'-Shaalas, Koffi Ariana and Jastus Farr who all jumped him on Kessel and obviously Luke Skywalker (holding back or not, Luke still beat him)
You do realize Vader bringing balance to the Force would make him the worst choice to be a Sith yeah? Since balance in Star Wars is the destruction of the Sith
You say that as if Sidious is this really powerful opponent or something. That's nothing to sneeze at
You're cherry picking.
Since Anakin and Darth Vader are essentially two separate entities would this mean that Anakin hated Mara Jade as well?
Imagin what Anakin's force ghost must be thinking...
What if Mara jade purple light Saber was a reconstruction of mace windu's
But given his redemption and hers too, He has grown to accept her as part of the family.

Thanks for sharing the excellent video
I don’t blame Vader for his hatred of Mara Jade, but I do feel it was misdirected. I think Vader should have known, by then, how much the Emperor delighted in tormenting him. It wasn’t ablut improving the Empire. It was about keeping Vader “in his place .”
Well it’s usual among in laws lol😂
It is ironic that later Mara Jade became his daughter-in-law by marrying his son Luke. However, it was obvious that his anguish was due to the fact that he was jealous of her position, privilege the lack of equality that the emperor did not show Vader.
What comics/novels would one read to better understand Mara during this time?
Mara Jade by the Emperor's Hand comic.
Allegiance novel
Choices of One novel
What if they Made Marajade and Luke canon and if they had twins in secret Mara would train the twins and luke would only train Ben and the few other force sensitives. It was so secretive not even Leah knew of it only R2D2

Mara would've been a worthy replacement for Vader, less powerfull but more versatile, kinda like Zannah to Bane
The only worthy replacement for Vader would be .. Leia.
Palpatine, " For all the Skywalkers you and I are the most in common. We are both politicians, that is our true power."
I like the idea. I really do.
