We got a lot more intriguing stuff such as the phasing out of the Clones, the Bad Batch figuring out what to do, the potential of a Clone Rebellion, etc. Also, limiting the guest characters was appreciated too, and even with the guests used such as Senator Chuchi, they were used to great effect. Very interesting story this one was, I really liked Vader here and I think he showed the most nicest side of him he has ever shown apart from when he saved Luke.
Arguably, Sabé was closer with Padmé than Sola or anyone of the Naberrie family. I think that would be a wise way for them to connect with their mother.
Would love to see either Portman or Knightely in this role at some point. Obviously it was Knightely originally in the role but if she has no interest in returning they could easily recast it to Portman.
Lord Vader seeing Sabé only reminds him of his past, the sadness and anger of being a slave and becoming evil after losing his wife and mother. It's very traumatic how it gets stuck behind your head reminding losing an close person and then your just alone with depression for failing to save them.

*For those who don’t still don’t get it: This isn’t a Legends story. This was after Disney purchased Star Wars and Marvel Comics started giving them their own comic book line. I won’t say whether or not the stories are bad, but I will admit that I can’t help but feel like they focus on the ‘Anakin’ part of Darth Vader too much at this point in time. He is still a Sith Lord, and the one known for being driven by misery and regret to the degree where he intentionally destroys any chance he is given at a better life than what he already has, before Luke appears and tells him he’s still a good man who doesn’t need to wallow in the darkness.*
This is less then a year before his redemption, and after Luke rejects his offer which I think changed him a bit to where he is a bit softer in his next meeting with Luke.
@@ShrekReacts Well there are other Vader comics that were released before this one. Most or all of them have moments where Vader’s inner Anakin shows, which got to the point where, combined, they showed it too much. That being said, with these comics taking place a year before Anakin’s revival, I don’t like the idea they’re painting, that Luke wasn’t the catalyst that saved his father but rather just another hammer that caused the cracks that were already there to finally shatter. It negatively affects the meaning behind those moments in Return of the Jedi and weakens it, and you can see or feel that in more than one way. In some ways, it’s like what Disney did in Kenobi with Obi-Wan and Leia when they gave us a needless reason why she recognized the name ‘Ben Kenobi’ in Episode IV.
@@teleportedbreadfor3days I find that more realistic though. when a mind is broken like that it can take years and years of healing it doesn't just happen besides the way I interpret this comic is that it wasnt enough to have just a girl that looks like padme. while she was sort of trying to help him turn back to the light its not really what padme would have wanted and vader sees that. padme was not a jedi so light or dark it never really mattered, things only started to break when she saw her love's perception become twisted. as I see it she would rather theyd run away from both the jedi and the sith and be safe. Luke in vader's mind was his only chance to set things "right" if padme could not be at his side then the only person left from her would suffice. however after all these years waiting he finally gets it in his head that it doesn't matter. he saw his son crying for help at the emporer's feet and then it triggers in his mind once again of that moment on mustifar. he might have been relieving those moments before in this comic but not in a way that just hits right for it to snap
@@Gothicgirlscout What others didn’t have was that Luke was Anakin’s son and his approach was different from those around him, besides just the fact that Luke promised to bring his father back into the light rather than ‘improve’ his position in the darkness. Vanquishing Vader and becoming him are the same thing. Luke truly became a Jedi that day when he refused to kill Vader. These comics are only written to be entertaining and nothing more in the end, which isn’t good. This series in particular weakens the meaning, feelings, impact, practically everything which made up Luke’s great moment in Return of the Jedi that lead to Anakin destroying Vader and overthrowing (literally) the Emperor, especially his leap of faith. Luke was the catalyst, yes, but not for Anakin’s redemption, he was more than a catalyst for *that;* He was the catalyst for the Prophecy of the Chosen One, he who will destroy the Sith and bring Balance to the Force. As a side note, it’s arguable that Anakin was destined to do this without turning to the Dark Side, to become the wisest and most powerful Jedi who ever lived, but Darth Sidious, being a Sith that openly defies the Will of the Force, acted against the Prophecy when he corrupted Anakin and turned him into Darth Vader and against the Jedi like a weapon. With that in mind, the Prophecy was forced to adjust in its fulfillment by having Anakin destroy Darth Vader and kill Darth Sidious, eradicating the Baneite Sith and cleaning the slate with the supremacy of the Dark Side no longer there to continue the imbalance. After all, Balance in the Force in Star Wars is Supremacy of the Light: Life, prosperity, serenity - This is because the Dark Side is a gateway to the unnatural and unlimited power that causes organic tissue to corrode, hence why Sith like Sidious seem to have such disfigured faces for using it so much. And in case you decide to bring up Count Dooku if you don’t believe what I said about Balance in the Force is true, which it actually is btw, Count Dooku only ever used the Dark Side infrequently like a tool, hence why he’s still got his mother’s good looks.
Makes sense he'd take her under his wing, though still recognized that she's not truly Padme so she'll get treated like... I dunno, like a step-sister to Padme. Familiar but not her.
The way they portray darth vader in the comics kind of shows that he isn't pure evil, but that he is a broken man who is conflicted every which way he goes.
Why do I get the strange feeling that this story might answer an important question in the rise of skywalker ( aka films 7-9 ) and if so might explain Palpatine’s revelation in the last of the newest trilogy, when it comes to an who what , how and why? ( I’m not going to give it away , but I let others guess which one it is) ?!?
The Emperor was able to bend people to his will, even Vader noted the Emperors voice had a hypnotic will, using the dark side to twist those around him. You see quickly how ones ideals are twisted to serve him.
It would be nice to see some of this in short animted stories like Dooku's. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE seeing Vader demolish shit but seeing that there IS still a person in there and not just a murderbot would be an awesome premise for a 3 to 4 episode one shot type thing.
That isn't much of a hurdle. The Episode 1 and 2 were not good. Episode 3 was decent. Episode 4 was good, Episode 5 was very good. Episode 6 was decent. Episodes 7-9 were bad.
Sith doctrine encourages paranoia. It makes sense Vader would build a collection of individuals he could "trust". If he was ever going to take the empire from Sidious, he'd need ruthless operatives who were loyal to him and not palpatine or the empire itself. Even if she reminds him of the life he left behind, Sabe is too useful to just disgard.
the way Darth Vader is holding the handmaiden who looks exactly like Padme and the way Darth Vader holds her waistline, it seems Darth Vader still loves Padme Amedala and still has a hot for her.. if only Darth Vader did not burnt his " crotch lightsaber" or just accepted Emperor Palpatines's robotic pleasure replacement lightsaber but hey, its Darth Vader and he has this celibacy code..

Very interesting story this one was, I really liked Vader here and I think he showed the most nicest side of him he has ever shown apart from when he saved Luke.
Hope Sabé lives long enough to meet Leia and Luke
I hope she does that way she can find some closer by meeting the children of the person who was like a sister to her
Arguably, Sabé was closer with Padmé than Sola or anyone of the Naberrie family. I think that would be a wise way for them to connect with their mother.
Not the "I can fix him/her" lmao 😂
Would love to see either Portman or Knightely in this role at some point. Obviously it was Knightely originally in the role but if she has no interest in returning they could easily recast it to Portman.
This was different… I liked it hope you do more like this in the future!!!
4:19 Clever way to bring for a second Anakin’s conversation with Padme in ep 2
Lord Vader seeing Sabé only reminds him of his past, the sadness and anger of being a slave and becoming evil after losing his wife and mother. It's very traumatic how it gets stuck behind your head reminding losing an close person and then your just alone with depression for failing to save them.
I’m not sure if people knew this or not but her character was played by Keira Knightley in the Phantom Menace.
She was in the Fucking movie before Pirates Of The Caribbean ?.
@@RicardoPerez-rz8pu Yup. Wish there was some way for her to reprise her role in the Star Wars universe since she actually has a story arc of her own in the comic between her and Darth Vader. Wish we could see that on screen.
"Crimson Dawn!?!?"
"I've read about them in Time Magazine.."
I love this! I hope they stay a pair for awhile, and even end of positive terms. Like he forces her to leave the empire’s service to save her life, or something. I loved seeing her talk to him as Anakin, and him accepting that’s who he was, again!
Him accepting that he was Anakin would violate his story arc. He can't do that until RotJ.
@@stevenschnepp576He does accept it however, the only times he feeds himself with the split personality lie is when he's fighting someone, to act like he's badass, gain power from it and so on.
I'd happily watch a series where Keira Knightley is kicking Imperial butt and taking names.
This could have been an awesome live action movie about Darth Vader and his new subordinate.
We all know that Anakin had “Vader Moments”, but how about Vader having “Anakin Moments”?
Honestly it’s nice to see this comic it just like old times where before he became darth vader.
Darth Vader walks into engineering
"I need an 8 inch tool made.... For reasons"
Anakin finally gets his revenge on SAND
Well, I'm sure Kiera Knightly would be perfect if they do a live action version
The underdog of this video is the quiet music in the background. It enhances the viewing experience.
It was actually either very smart or rather very merciful of Palpatine NOT to order Vader to kill second Padme.
The Senate has no body double that is ANYWHERE near as competent.
9:58 thats an M1 Abrams
It looked like it on the bottom
Now they're tracing real vehicles when they got called out for tracing fan art 😅
Canon is lame next to legends
What are you doing step vader
Vaders marriage to her would be fun..
It's like Anakin x Padme... but dark.
Luke this is your Step Mother, She looks exactly like your actual Mother!- Vader Probably
Shit, we need Keira Knightley on this. NOW!!!!!!!!
“In a galaxy far far away there was a woman.”
“Mutahar laughter intensifies.”
The way they portray darth vader in the comics kind of shows that he isn't pure evil, but that he is a broken man who is conflicted every which way he goes.
Would make a good TV series actually. Thanks for the video.
Even in a galaxy far far away. Women still think ( I can change him ) 😆
I hate that for as smart as Vader is he can't see how the emperor is gassing him up, and could be easily overthrown if he stopped to think.
Anyone notice the mobile bunker is built on top of M1 Abrams hulls?
Lazy Marvel Artists will be lazy marvel artists
Regarding Kitster & Wald, how would they explain this to Han & Leia in "Tatooine Ghost" (especially the former)?
It would be nice to see some of this in short animted stories like Dooku's. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE seeing Vader demolish shit but seeing that there IS still a person in there and not just a murderbot would be an awesome premise for a 3 to 4 episode one shot type thing.
This would be an amazing arc in the Vader series Disney + greenlit.
13:13 *"I can fix him" by gezebelle gaburgably (intensifies)* .
I would love to see this live action and other vader comics.
Aww ok Darth Vader still got a lil soft spot I see.
the legends comics have better story telling than the actual movies
Yeah, but this is cannon
That isn't much of a hurdle. The Episode 1 and 2 were not good. Episode 3 was decent. Episode 4 was good, Episode 5 was very good. Episode 6 was decent. Episodes 7-9 were bad.
@@agalgonzalez episodes 7-8 were bad. Episode 9... it was atrociously bad.
This is canon
wow. This is interesting.
I wonder if she'll come upon Leia or Luke. Both, preferably. It would be so interesting!
Definitely think Sabe has a trick up her sleeve
Maybe, but it's going to take a lot to trick Vader and Palpatine
That would be the lamest fucking thing in the world.
How can she not; she had been trained to be like that all of her life. Started when she was hand-picked to be Padmé's body double.
We're all still waiting for them to make a series out of this. Like Kenobi
Would love a Black Series figure of Sabe! What volume and issues of Vader is this?
The most recent one is issue 32
Disney may call the comics non-canonical, but to me they're some of the best stuff to bear the Star Wars name 😊
These comics are canon to Disney.
They're the only good thing about Disney canon
These comics are canon
the way Darth Vader is holding the handmaiden who looks exactly like Padme and the way Darth Vader holds her waistline, it seems Darth Vader still loves Padme Amedala and still has a hot for her.. if only Darth Vader did not burnt his " crotch lightsaber" or just accepted Emperor Palpatines's robotic pleasure replacement lightsaber but hey, its Darth Vader and he has this celibacy code..
waiting for the imperial guards to beat someone in a fight, day 23,731
Fun fact the ‘weapon’ has 4 M1A1 Abrams hulls strapped to the underside for mobility, only thing different is the fact they are grey, even the main body of the ‘weapon’ is roughly shaped like the M1A1 hull
Geetsly Could you do a video about what Thrawn would think of real life Historical Generals/tactician?
He was based on Sherlock Holmes I feel like he references some of those famous figures I need to re read all the stories
I would love to have the Vader comics into live-action instead of a stinky obi wan spin-off
An imperial padme. You kidding right. The emperor was downright afraid of padme. He knew she was the only brick that can stop his plans without firing a laser gun.
well this padme is different. otherwise he would had asked lord vader to give her death lol
@@ladyriethegoldendelmo5441Padme would've just stopped his plans, Sabe was already scarily close to stopping his breath! He should be more afraid of her 😂
I need to know the name of the background music used for this video. It’s hauntingly relaxing, melancholic yet nostalgic. Any help would be appreciated!!
why the hell are we not getting this as a show?
Somebody make a spiritual successor to star wars. One where the supplimental material is cannon. Then when it pulls numbers you can send kathleen kennedy a figure for an amount the next time she says their having trouble coming up with new ideas.
Good luck fixing him lol.
Vader comics are the peak of Star Wars. Simple as that.
Keira Knightly is still alive and doesn't seem to have any major projects at the moment. Just saying Sabe could come back for a cameo or something if Disney decides to adapt some stuff from the comics.
Only problem is they straight up ignore the comics 99% of the time
One of great stories in canon
Let’s go my boy Darth Coochie gets an appearance!🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯Thought he was done after Rise of Skywalker
We have Padme at home.
I liked the start of the run up until they got to Exogol then it started really going downhill for me. Cool ideas but the execution is a little boring for me. Im a few issues behind though because I read it on marvel unlimited
Yeah I didnt like the exegol part either. What tf was up with that giant mountain of kyber?
I think I’ll need to read these comic books now to rehabilitate myself from all the utterly horrible content Disney has been spitting out recently
9:59 the tracks are Abrams tanks
That story was really cool
7:42 nice
6:38 Dude, that Speederbike/Podracer Hybrid is dope as fuck. I’ve never seen a podracer positioned like that.
if padme actually alive ,she can convince darth vader to anakin easily
Not unless he sees his kids alive with her
Seem like Sabe replaced Mara Jade as Hand to the Empire in Disney canon.
He could still have 2
@@LaneCorbett not in Disney's Star wars unfortunately.
@@Bentaur Thrawn maybe?
This was a much better story arc than that psychotic imperial woman who was delusional
Legends are canon.
