      I think people standard for clones are too high, if you think about it, they’re never taught to be human, and their soul purpose is to exist as a killing tool, when your life is already gotten messed up it’s hard to have a good personality

    • @marlonbrando5794
      @marlonbrando5794 Год назад +26

      He was a soldier who knew his exact purpose in life and followed just that. Not to mention he was paired with a Jedi who already had bias against his kind. Clones are basically bred to be obedient drones with little to no connection or empathy for other beings. They are killers first and foremost. Of course that depended on how influential their Jedi counterparts were in broadening their horizons. Not in this case.

      @Jennifer Brewer its because Geetslys made that shit up. Notice how he never states where his source for that information comes from. Geetslys has an agenda of painting the Coruscant Gaurd in a bad light. And he often just makes shit up to further that agenda. A quick Google search goes a long way when it comes to fact-checking what Geetslys says. Most of the time, it tends to just be made up BS to fit his own narrative.

    One of the many things I love about Star Wars are the back story of characters that normally at first glance don’t appear to matter but in reality if you look closely your found they are more than a blank face which is cool and a bit unsettling

    • @Tyrone-v2r
      @Tyrone-v2r Год назад +1

      Absolutely. So many people just see the movies or some of the movies and think that there's no depth to the lore, characters or background stories.
      If you explore both the legends or cannon EU there's so much more there with even literal background characters with no dialogue have life stories and family legacies.
      The animated series deals so much with politics, culture, society's treatment of veterans, the glorification of war, PTSD, economic colonialism, client states, power dynamics, history, a variety of relationship types, corporatism, corruption, social and religious dogma and so many other things.
      Hell, the original trilogy was about fascism and America's genocidal wars in post WWII Southeast Asia and the prequel trilogy was (unintentionally) an absolutely perfect analogy for the neverending war on terror.
      The storyline between Palpatine/Anakin and Darth Sidious/Vader is the very definition of an inequitable power dynamic and the relationship between Padme and Anakin is the absolute definition of a toxic relationship.
      All of which was done with very precise intent, and, even though the prequel trilogy wasn't conceived of as an analogy for the War on Terrorism, the fact that it is such a perfect analogy for it tells you how intentional Lucas was with his political commentary.
      I'm not a fan who spends time hating on the Disney movies but them attempting to succeed at telling background stories by giving a story to the little thing dangling from the ceiling of the cockpit in the Millennium Falcon shows how unaware they were of what makes people love Star Wars.
      People didn't watch the prequels to find out why Luke's father wound up with a lightsaber that color and we didn't walk into the Force Awakens because we were overwhelmed with curiosity about what happened to Luke's outfit after Episode VI.
      Sorry for the rant, lol

      Palp's dead, one way or another: via Order 65, Mace's or Anakin's lightsaber, or executed after trial in the senate after being impeached. @@snapshotinhistory1367 palps is getting religious for sure, but I think the more interesting things would be the stuff beyond that.
      The Separatists are still separate, this war has been going for a while now.
      Dooku and the SC has a government and an army still and no incentive to lose this war. Grievous has his armies too, and has likely just shifted from "nearly omnicidal" to "fully omnicidal"
      Being a Sith isn't illegal and the Republic is still heavily staffed by Palpatine appointees, so a trial will be required if Mace or Anakin killed him, which they almost certainly will, and there will be a lot of people with reasons to obfuscate the parts of Palpatine's doing that aren't fully digested yet.
      You could potentially see a Jedi-Republic vs. Senate-Republic vs. What-The-Hell-Just-Happened?-Republic divide that could turn into a second contemporaneous civil war, plus you've got the Separatists still fighting and confused with many uncertain if Grievous is still on their side while he takes his ships and just starts indiscriminately glassing systems in a nihilistic rage against all life.

      I understand your point, but I think the thing that makes it understandable is lack of context on Fox’s part. WE as the audience know Fives is an innocent man trying to stop a master manipulator from destroying the republic. FOX, on the other hand is dealing with a visibly unstable turncoat who as far as he knows, has just tried to assassinate the republics head of state. He COULD have used stun, but at this point, he’s still on the side of the Jedi, and Fives has just pulled a blaster on the Jedi, Him, and his fellow men. Was it wrong to shoot him? Yes. Did Fox have the time to consider that in the split second between Fives pulling the blaster and Fox taking the shot? No. There’s also the possibility that he HAD it on stun, but the second Fives pulled and aimed the blaster all bets were off.

    Huh, the second and especially the thrid choice was very much expected, but Thire was defiantly a surprise, he seemed like a good dude in that first episode, but then again I thought Crosshair seemed like a good dude in Clone Wars and we all know what side he ended up choosing, so I guess just like when it came to the Bad Batch in relation to Crosshair, I guess I didn't know Thire all that well after all.
    How about we discuss the morally best Clones next, the ones that were loyal to the Republic, but like some Jedi, they weren't loyal to the point of stupidity, like Rex, Fives, and so on.

  • @occam7382

    I wouldn't exactly call Thire and Keller evil. Thire, along with the rest of the Coruscant Guard, did basically act like Palpatine's police force and subject the people of Coruscant to an invasive, authoritarian regime, but they were doing that because that was their job, and it was a job they loathed with a passion. If you asked any member of the Coruscant Guard if they'd rather be on Coruscant or the frontlines, I guarantee you 99% of them would've said the latter. Fighting for the Republic was what these guys were born and trained to do, and it's why they entered every situation as if it was a warzone, because they wanted it to be. It's why individuals like Thorn and his men were relatively lucky. They went out in a blaze of glory fighting against droids like a clone should, while Fox, Thire, Stone, and the rest had to endure being enforcers of Palpatine's totalitarian police state until they were decomissioned, and that's just a terrible gig. Keller also did brutalize an entire city of people in pursuit of two people, but that's due to him being extremely dedicated to completing the mission assigned to him no matter the cost - almost certainly due to his being a commander in the infamously hardass Galactic Marines. As for Faie... no arguments there, he was an absolute scumbag, devoid of all humanity, and he deserved far worse than what he got. I will argue the idea that these guys "would all have done better to follow the example of Sergeant Slick." No matter how justifable his motivations may have been, Slick betrayed his brothers and committed acts that directly killed them or put them in harm's way. And he did what he did knowing that would happen. I can totally respect a deserter like Cut Lawquane, someone who deserts from the GAR because they want no part in the war whatsoever and just want to live their lives as they see fit. But I will always condemn someone like Slick, who was so selfish and greedy that he got his brothers killed and put them at risk. That is something I can never condone, and especially not encourage.
