I love my Eagle H Harness, but no matter how much I adjust it, it's still doesn't beat my Alice with the Vietnam harness and padding on the belt. Great video!
Sam, in actuality, all that hair holds in a tremendous amount of heat, you may like the lookool look, but the miserable index is an indication of your suffering level. Personally, I shave and cut my hair only once a year, so most of the year I look like a mountain man wannabe, in the spring when the hear rises, I get sheared and begin the growth anew. Losing all that winter insulation is a real treat. It will return, only to be cut again. . Bold travels!
i use a Rothco LBC similar to your rig when deer/pig scouting, it's nice have all the necessities spread out so it won't feel as heavy...but sometimes i like just having an AK chest rig and an old plce utility belt if i stay close to my vehicle
Yeah man. I just finished your cop rig video. I’ll out at/around their place in a month or so and then probably at the Self Reliance Festival in October that’s at their place.
Great harness, I have an LBT Rhodesian and a repro Frerday and sons Rhodesian both are used to run as a DMR kit with 8 total mags and I run an operator belt with a dump pouch and GP pouches the pistol sits on the right drop leg and I run another eagle industries drop panel on my left with either extra mag pouch or GP pouch, between my shoulders and the drop panels the belt sits and a very comfortable level on my hips and you can pack tons of gear with these load outs. Eagle industries also makes suspender pads that slip right over the SFLCS suspenders for a little more comfort. I also have several old Alice LCE with the m56 belts. Old Alice gear is still relevant and definitely a viable option.
Something I'm trying to figure out is the height for this harness. Higher up and the weight sits on the shoulders. Down on the belt and it sits more on the hips. I am setting up a new (to me) version of this Eagle Industries kit. Most pouches on it are SOE with some surplus mixed in.
I had to go on a couple walks to figure out how I wanted it. I decided I want the bottom of the harness to set at or just below the bottom of my pants belt.
if you make paracord loops or use those cheap plastic carabiners; you can route and secure your drinkin hose down your back and under your arm so itll stop up by your neck. That way you can just glomb onto it and drink while still lookin around and it wont be flappin in the breeze like a Kenyans jimmy bits
Great presentation! My question is how low will she go? Looking at different options for webbing harness that I can use in combination with a 30L Savotta Jääkäri M backpack. So the plan is to have the harness sit below the backpacks waist belt, like arround the hips. Im a 6feet, 200lb man and my Savotta waist belt sits high to start with, like almost stomach height. Got different options that I know will do the trick such as the Canadian Army pattern 82 webbing which is easy for me to find but its not MOLLE compatible and most of my gear and pouches are MOLLE. Any advice and word of wisdom you can give me? Cheers!
This harness will do what you want. I’m 5’10” and 210lbs. There’s a ton more adjustment down. You’ll probably have to removed the back belt panel like I did. There are 3 and it’s made to remove the back one to make it tighter. You’ll have 10 columns of molle on each of the remaining panels. I have my butt pack spanning the gap between the 2 panels. Works great.
If I want to continue using the butt pack I’ll have to keep wearing it low. I wore it like in the video for a few hours/miles yesterday with no complaints.
If I had grenades I’d probably put them in one of SAW pouches or have a whole separate satchel full of them. If there’s only 1 or 2 I could get frag pouches and put them on the front of the shoulder straps.
At that time I kept it in the carry holster and stuck them in that pouch together. If I was going to keep doing that, I’d wait her get a Velcro backed holster or one of those trigger guard covers in a string. Does that answer your question? I hope this helps.
You could shorten the back of the harness and lengthen the front. Could also tighten the back around your waist so the bottom of the shoulder straps will be farther apart in the front.

I’ve got an Alice set up too. I think I have a video on it somewhere. I’m not sure what I prefer yet. I like them both.
@@samrussell0331 I'm in the same boat, it's a tough one. But I think I lean towards my Alice due to comfort, personally
@@homefrontscenarios I just realized I haven’t done a video on the butt pack I have from Special Operations Equipment. Standby for that I guess.

i wear my smearsh about beltline, i think its comfortable carrying postion for gear. especially when walking a lot.
The first time I was treating this more like a split front chest rig. Just trying different things out.
i use an FLC vest as a general gear carrier, have attached a sling bag to the back using grimlocs
Whatever works man. I enjoy being able to tailor gear to exactly what we want.

H harness is built to run beneath your ruck. 👍
That’s the plan.
Good ideas. Heal up amigo.
I’ve been fine since yesterday morning. Should get out on probation today.

according to US army research having the weight on your hips is best for energy consumption and fatique on foot.

Just got one and love it. Running also the same set up as you but using the molle butt pack. Can you throw a link to the butt pack you got. Thank you

Hey I hope you see this, how did you mount/secure your sidearm in that pouch, this rig is what I’m trying to get/build, take care

How does it work with sitting in a car?
Butt packs and vehicles do not mix well. Please check out my recent video about Chest rigs VS Belt rigs
Any suggestions to make the neck area more comfortable? Feel like its front heavy and the straps squeeze the sides/back of my neck.
You could shorten the back of the harness and lengthen the front. Could also tighten the back around your waist so the bottom of the shoulder straps will be farther apart in the front.
@@samrussell0331 I'll give it a go. I still need a butt pack to help with weight distribution. Thanks for the quick response!

Tis the price of looking like the bad asses that we are.
I did Jiu Jitsu for a little bit a couple years ago and I would inevitably end up laying on my hair and it would gradually lift my chin. Not helpful.

Y’all be jealous of my war tassels
If you run that kind of load out and set up there's going to be problems, work out what works and discard or repurpose into your ruck
I’m seeing this rig as a 1-2 day system to be used without a ruck.
You know things are getting bad when the Amish are starting to prepare for a fight.
You should see the rig Brother Jedediah is running while tilling God’s soil.
