Why not tested for cholesterols ???
I first tried 1x 10mg astaxanthin many years ago after months of fatigue / burnout. I had been tired no matter how much sleep I got. I took the 1x 10mg astaxanthing in the afternoon. I only slept until 3am because I woke up alert and feeling supercharged. I could not get back to sleep so I decided to walk to work (10km). I did a full day at work, no naps, no fatigue. That effect decreased over time, it became more moderate. But I found that the 6mg doses are too little. 10mg was good. So I take 2x 6mg if they don't have the 10mg. But it might depend on the freshness and quality too.
Hi Siim, relatively new to your channel and really appreciating your sensible approach. It would very helpful to hear the relevant dose ranges on the supplements you take.
Another great video Siim. Thank you👍
No problem 👍
Thank you Siim for sharing
No worries
Cool little factoid I learned about Astaxanthin a long time ago was it the reason certain flamingos are pigmented pink.
Same with shrimps and lobsters
And salmon. It allows them to swim against water currents. Because it assists in mitochondrial metabolism.
Awesome as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great Siim! 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Siim, what testing service did you use for your Omega 3 Index? (Red blood cell vs Plasma) Thanks for the awesome videos.
Another great cheap one is grape seed extract.
Reishi mushroom is also shown to increase mice lifespan by up to 20%
informative suggestions Siim. I take those sups many yrs but the question remains “how much”
Astaxathin, for example, do you take.
awesome video would only love if oyu said how much you take from each sup
Thank you Sim.
My pleasure!
Hi Siim, what You think about supplementing baicalin?
Did you investigate the link between Hyaluronic Acid and cancer? In some instances, HA can either be a promoter of cancer while in some cases, HA is an inhibitor of cancer.
What would you say are the best Supplements for hair growth ?
Thanks Siim.
Thanks for watching
Can you mention doses???
Hi Siim, how much astaxanthin are you taking per day? Looks like the Noordcode standard dose brings less than 4mg, doesn't look like enough? Have been taking 4mg myself for just over a month
Siim -- The homocysteine pathway is quite complex. See Impaired Homocysteine Metabolism and Atherothrombotic Disease, Durand, et al 2001, fig 1. If B12 doesn't work easily, and knowing b12 ACM hazard ratios increase as B12 levels increase, then as your so young I'd suggest to work through the pathway interventions: serine+b6, folate, methyl folate, methyl b12, glycine, creatine, choline/betaine. You should also keep track of exercise and protein/methionine intake a week of so before the test.
Hyaluronic acid for fluid levels in the joints which in turn protects the cartilage. Cartilage receives no blood flow so is unable to repair.
What do you think about high and low molecular weight. Theres study about one promoting cancer and inflammation. Which one are you going for?
Can u make a video about top 10 longevity supplement?
Had tried Astaxanthin for a bit, didn't see much effect, hence stopped.... perhaps should start again. If we take B12 separately, do we still need to take a B complex ?
Glad that my supplement stack has been given the Lund seal of approval. I also use zeaxanthin for AMD protection. I recently added l-leucine to my shake to stimulate muscle synthesis .. (I’m 90% plant based) will continue but damn it tastes bad.
What are your thoughts on C60? I know that 90% life ext was replicated by someone in another private lab.
NoordCode omega-3 pack only have 446 mg combined omega-3 for every 4 softgels.
Do you take other omega-3 too?
Astaxanthin helped my vision considerably. Love the stuff
Hi, Thank you for sharing your positive experience :) Which brand do you take? Cheers ^_^
Swanson
At what time did you started seeing resultsb
@@lonewolf5969 After about 3-4 weeks
What time of the day do you take them?
Been on 12mg astaxanthin/day for a year & get regular sun for several years & have noticed I never burn, even when a bit too much, since; nOf1 but mechanistically plausible (also omega3s & lycopene from tomato sauce & spirulina/chlorella & egcg green tea & berries & cocoa flavanols). The part about b12 deficiency most likely for carnivores vs least vegans was shocking tho, dang! Thanks great video keep them coming!
I think you mean 12mg. 12g is a insane amount.
@@KasKade7 yes lol 12mg thnx 12g would be too expensive anyways
What brand of b complex do you use
Hey guys,
What would be the right dose of Astaxathin for a guy who weighs just over 80kg 🤔
How do you get NoordCode Ultimate Omega Formula in the US? They don't ship here :(
Where can we see your current full supplement stack?
I seem to recall that att least in some studies, reducing homocysteine through B vitamins, did NOT reduce CVD or mortality rates.
Hey Jack, Yes -- Effects of Lowering Homocysteine Levels With B Vitamins on Cardiovascular Disease, Cancer, and Cause-Specific Mortality
Meta-analysis of 8 Randomized Trials Involving 37 485 Individuals, Clarke et al, 2010.
This indicates that finding the true reasons for elevated Homocysteine is important, rather than just relying on B vitamins.
Careful with the omega 3s bro. I did the same thing S you and got a fantastic omega index but then ended up in the hospital with afib
Anyone know what omega 3 index test was used?
Nice, I actually just added astaxanthin earlier this week.
Nice
Can you look into Arjuna Bark and Butterfly Pea Tea that is this violet color when you put in hot water and turns red with lemon juice. The violet substance must have some properties that we do not know about. Very popular in Thailand.
Arjuna Bark brings down LDL 25% in some studies. Very popular in India.
Astaxanthine boosting Nrf2 as well
Just a heads-up, I read a study showing that long term use of high dosage B6 (one year or more) was linked to nerve damage.
I'd been taking the same B complex you've added, and I've now cut it back to one pill, rather than two, every second day. A quarter of the recommended dosage.
just heads up, some form of b6 damage nerve instantly, other form doesnt, find online
Great warning .... (Im personally weary of any MEGA-dosing)
Are you still taking inositol supplements ?
"Your health and happiness are directly connected"
- best health advice i have ever recieved
Absolutely
Recommend adding B6 P5P✍️✍️✍️
What do you think of the blunting effect of antioxidants such as astaxanthin on exercise recovery, not sure if this is the case with astaxanthin?
Haven't seen evidence of that, but probably better to take before workout
That's true for vit c and vit e, but as Siim mentions I haven't seen that for astaxanthin either. If you have a paper please post the title. Note those vit c and vit e studies are done in athletes generally striving for maximal performance, which isn't really the goal for those interested in longevity.
@@SiimLand @daviddelvalle2458 But the general consensus on antioxidants have changed. Nowadays science advise NOT to supplement with antioxidants! Right ??
In astaxanthin an exception to this rule? And why?
Where do we get your newest supplement list?
I'll update soon
hey siim great stack. What do you think about astaxanthin raising cancer risk (through antioxidant mechanism)
There's no quality evidence of that
Why do you ask?
@@dikshaedythe6042 i heard/read a lot that high antioxidant consumption is linked to higher cancer risk but mainly on social media and no scientific papers
Astanxanthin rules!💪💪💪💪
Indeed
I thought Astaxanthin was sourced from Algae? The source the fish eat
are you still taking a separate omega 3 supplement since the EPA and DHA is quite low in the noordcode astaxanthin?
Yes .
I eat fish and sometimes take an extra omega-3.
Should you really be taking astaxanthin every day though...
Siim, there are dozens of supplements included in your Supplement list pdf. But in the video you said that you only consume 10. Which ones do you take now?
I will update the list soon
😍@@SiimLand
I've been taking astaxanthin for about 25 years when Mercola started talking about it. I take 12mg / day. It's internal sunscreen - never used sunscreen since. I take your other supplements, too.
What are the others?
@@lonewolf5969 I take all the other ones in the video but also NMN and so many!
@@lynnsanelli1838 how much nmn and glycine do you take?
I started a B12 + Folate + B6 a couple days ago (Jarrow Formulas). They have to be the methylated versions, B-6 in particular needs to be PHP (pryidoxal-5-phosphate) I have never felt anything from a B vitamin until I started these, and they improve energy almost immediately. I must have methylation problems, which I suspect for a variety of reasons, including depression.
Appreciate your post. I too have started taking a methyl B complex ( Objective Nutrients ) and noticeable the improvement in my well being physically and mentally. Believe I have a compromised system converting the B vitamins into the active form. Remember years ago watching a news story of people achieving great results of taking folinic acid instead of folic acid i.e activated folate. Hope you continue to experience noticeable mprovement
Thank you for the post. I take Noordcode's Magsix, which contains:
- Vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5-phosphate) 4 mg 286%
Is that too much or what do you think?
You had mentioned one of your videos that it's not beneficial for body going through heavy anti-oxidation i.e. supplementing with vitamin C.
Can you make a video about mistakes you made in your fitness journey?
He's got that already - with regard to his training
The amount of work it takes to provided such high quality content, don’t fault someone for adding sponsorships. Get real
Thanks
Yeah right, the amount of time it takes to produce a video like this is not extensive whatsoever, the same stock footage recycled from prior videos and a script. Siim deserves rightful criticism for turning this channel into a series of paid adverts.
@@Libertas_P77then go away and stop complaining…no one is asking you to watch his vids…grow tfu…
@@Libertas_P77 Weird position !! What quality content do YOU offer the people for free ???
@@henrikmadsen2176 That’s precisely the point: this isn’t “quality content” by Siim, it’s sh*tty advertising masquerading as a video as something it’s not.
Look into aronia berries
12% life extension is a lot...

Siim by far is one of the most knowledgeable influencers out there and the one with the most integrity. Keep going Siim! Your work is outstanding.
Not really no
Never mind the negative people ssimon. This is why I subscribe to your channel because of information like this keep up the excellent work.. thanks for the lot put the supplement preferences
Great video, however I am skeptical about the claim that Hyaluronic acid is of any value as my understanding is that it's a very large molecule hence will be broken down by the gut into something else. Studies are all very well, but if they contradict basic biological principles, how seriously can we take them?
What about BPC-157
1. Not a supplement. 2. Bleeding edge stuff. I’ve taken it myself but that is taken not forever but to heal things. 3. Finding place to buy is nontrivial. 4. No human data (though does seem to work 5. Issue of oral vs injection. Bottom line not kind of think Siim would make video on, though there are number of videos on topic.
Not using it
Sublingual b12 lowers homocysteine levels
Human beings evolved, just like all other animals to be perfectly healthy without ANY supplements, true fact.
Cool
Many anecdotes about astaxanthin causing gynecomastia. I wonder through what mechanism.
Perhaps it happens in people who already have poor testosterone/estrogen ratio due to body fat or liver problems.
Astaxanthin is a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor, stronger than saw palmetto.
The overwhelming majority of anecdotes say it doesn't. Including mine. So I would say "predisposition".
Oh my. Took me years of lifting to lose my moobs. I can’t catch the gyno bruh
Read the studies “Astaxanthin anticancer effects are mediated through multiple molecular mechanisms: A systematic review” and “An open label, dose response study to determine the effect of a dietary supplement on dihydrotestosterone, testosterone and estradiol levels in healthy males”
Astaxanthin,
Exercise increase Homocysteine
I ve been taking astaxanthin since 8 years between 8-12mg per day. So far no side effects. My skin got much better, no wrinkles ( i m 34), no sun burn anymore, exercise perfomance significantly increased, eyes health improved. From my personal experience best uptake is in combination with mct oil. My skin even got slight tan after few hours taking it. But in my view the best advantage is l, that you still produce vitamin D without getting skin damage.
Valine
Potassium
Kelp
Spirulina
Milk thistle
So underrated
spirulina deplete vitamin B
Fix a runes video
Let's drink every time he says "astaxanthin" ...
lol
Of course you need a B-complex supplement. Surprising that you haven't taken it yet despite the Carnivore diet.
What acid doesn't burn you ? Highly ironic acid 😂
lmao
I would be careful with B vitamins. There are also studies that show that B vitamins can increase the risk of cancer. I would therefore not take large amounts. Furthermore, omega 3 supplements didn't really work in many studies. Perhaps fish would be more beneficial.
Definitely sardines over fish oil. Assimilates better plus the other macros present.
hyaluronic is amazing im only 22 and my skin has seen visible benefits from it
22 😂
@@dms8504whats so funny bout 22?

Don’t finish to understand why a young and fit man, need all these stack of supplement. you still young enjoy that phase, even with all supplement won’t last forever.
Is it the astaxanthin that has turned you orange as compared to three months ago?
My experience with omega 3 is that they make my eczema worst. it's really unbearable.
You got rancid oxized ones. But only USP or IFOS5 certified and store in fridge. Test one by cutting it open, smell and taste. High Quality Fish oil is great for all skin problems
@@larryc1616 I've tested a lot of brands and they're all the same. Nordic Naturals, Carlson's, NOW, etc. I also don't buy the pill, I buy the liquid from the refridgerated section.
same happened to me, but wont break out if eating fresh fish. I have tried my omega 3 and its all causing the same problem, dont know why?
@@RedHunterOfficial I think I might have a theory. While Omega 3 is important I'm not sure we need the 1:1 ratio that people claim. I was on high omega 3, low omega 6 diet for years and eczema never improved in the slightest and often got worse. DHA is amazingly powerful: at 0.25g of DHA it's enough to inhibit eicosanoid production of arachidonic acid which is the omega 6 equivalent. Then I read in a pubmed article that absence of linoleic acid resulted in severe eczema and no amount of omega 3 helped. I can't find that specific article but I found one titled "*Essential fatty acid metabolism and its modification in atopic eczema*". The article stated that while linoleic acid was elevated in eczema, GLA and AA were significantly depresssed.
GLA tends to help with my eczema much more than EPA or DHA, but the eczema is still persistent.
@@tonywong8134 So do you mean that Omega 6 supposed to regulate the omega 3 that is causing the eczema? Ive read that too much of Omega 6 or higher than other omega's might cause inflammation. Then, we should try experiment the omega 3 and 6 ratio and see how it goes
B12 so overrated
Go carnivore and live free
Ya living free of a variety of foods.
These videos are getting more and more like T DeLauer’s videos ….sponsored videos masquerading as informational sharing.
Personally don’t have an issue with this. Him briefly mentioning products doesn’t distract me. I’m here for the info. Moreover, no one is forcing me to view this. We all have the freedom of choosing what we view here.
I have many videos without sponsors. The sponsored segment makes up less than 10% of the video. Rest is pure value. Also, dozens of people will ask what brands of supplements I take and I provide an option because it's what I actually take every day and have vetted to meet my standards. The fact that supplement videos are one of my most popular videos on the channel prove that it's a topic most people are interested in. Doesn't make sense for me to spend hours answering every single person which this or that I take.
Sorry but don t compare the work and value of Siim with Delauer .
Content is good, but conflict of interest is real here.
I dont like that you always sell what you are preaching. Alot of conflict of interest going on. I would much rather you take sponsors thats not supplements or just promote nordcode products without affiliate.
He’s just another supplement salesman…
Sorry but this guy is one of the most knowledgeable guys in terms of picking supplements and knowing which ones are the best ones almost none of the supplements that he recommends are BS or have to do with just trying to sell you something even his Crump product or whatever you call it is literally hemp seed and pea protein which are the two highest protein sources and the two highest quality protein sources in their respective category the guy is telling you about astaxanthin and that's one of the best supplements in human history so I don't really see what he's promoting that's BS or conflict of interest
Just want to add I kept watching the video Until the End of the astaxanthin part and most likely his product is not the best one you can get just buy Astaxanthin separately (nutrex or valensa) don't buy a blend of anything ever they are usually all rip offs
The Noord Code only contains 3.6mg astaxanthin (4 capsules). Dedicated astaxanthin supplements are 6-10mg per capsule. In my experience and other's experience 6mg is not enough so we take 2x 6mg if the 10mg is not available.
@@BC-wj8fx Yesss!
Stop shilling supplements you sell Siim, it’s really nasty and compromises the integrity of your brand and the channel you’ve spent years building up.
