I brought my ragdoll kitten home at 8/9 weeks. He couldnt WAIT to get out of the carrier - entire car ride home to when I opened it in my house..he followed me everywhere. I was amazed he wasnt scared at all - more interested in me. Not my house, furniture. I even let him be for a few minutes to run upstairs and he was right at my heels. Too funny. He is now 9 years old and still my beloved best friend..right at my heels when I come home, sleeps next to my head..helps me work ..watches tv with me, naps with me. GREAT CAT
Any serious breeder would never give up a ragdollkitten under 12 weeks. Ragdolls grow up very slowly and are still very dependent on their mum. Best age is about 13 weeks. You may find it has behavioural Problems later.
@@kathrynharrison6890 exactly what I was thinking. I really can't understand why there are so many "bringing home my 10 weeks old kitty" videos on youtube. They need 12-14 weeks by there real mom and they need a social partner at there new home - not only humans. They never can replace another cat. They speak there own language.
Three days later, the cat is in charge and owns your place + you. They are adorable. First night , hiding under bed. Second night , rummaging through apartment, following human around. Third night, hugs arm, sleeps on bed, hugging arm. I wake up with him using my arm as pillow. From that point. Cat keeps one point of contact, at least , when sleeping, with human. Always orients himself to keep eye on human, but lounges where he pleases. After a week. Cat is the Commanding Officer, U.S.S. My_Apartment.
sooooo cute. he looked so sad at the end he were looking for his mom. just imagine something like that happens to you. but cats are later happy with their new family
too young at 10 weeks to be separated from his mum and brothers. i do have a seal mitted ragdoll as well. Responsible breeders give them away minimum at 13 weeks. Lovely baby
I was curious about that reading the title... I've been looking at ragdolls specifically and every one is 13-15 weeks of age when they will rehome. Poor baby!
WOW, Great!!!!!!! job introducing you kitten to it's new home. Nice and quiet, no pressure, soothing voices in the back round. This is text book. I wish everyone was smart enough to do this. I cried a little at the end (don't tell anyone).
Very Stunning Kitty!!! Very beautiful, he will be comfortable in no time. Usually takes 10 days to acclimate to new surroundings. Very beautiful though. Markings are striking! Keep us updated....
Nice kitten and what their expressions.. I got one at 8weeks and he wasn't shy ,he took over the place in 10min...I guess they are all different personalities....Thanks!
I'LL BET THESE PEOPLE DON'T ALLOW CATS TO BE DECLAWED ----- PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TELL BREEDERS NOT TO DO THAT, it's like cutting off forefinger bones, it's becoming illegal it's so painful & cruel. But some sick breeders still do these things, so PLEASE ASK & MAKE SURE THEY DON'T.
you are not supposed to seperate kittens from their mother before they are ATLEAST 12 weeks old. Thats atleast the law in denmark. I dont know about other countries but the law is there for a reason. If they are seperated too soon they might not develop enough socially and will often become more distant and more territorial towards other animals.
What a beautiful kitten. If somebody else stated that's exactly how you do it. Cats need to do things at their own speed at their own time. I have to 13 year old rag dolls. And they're still the best cats on the planet. In my humble opinion
Oh my gosh what kind of ragdoll is this? I just lost my Siamese to cancer and was thinking about getting another Siamese until i came across ragdolls absolutely cute
I had a seal point mitted Ragdoll cat. She was a beauty! She bonded with me right away and I was her favourite person in the family, which of course suited me to a tee, LOL! She lived for 18 years, and finally we had to say goodbye. They have the most beautiful mesmerizing blue eyes! But they do need brushing frequently to avoid matting. And give hairball treatments regularly also.
Here in Sweden, it's illegal to separate the kitten from its mom below week 12. This kitten is way too young to be taken away from its mom! You guys should have certain law about this wherever you live!
You guys are ok, my baby was an orphan at about 10 days and even lost his last sibling a day before I snatched him up. Put him in my shirt and that is were he and I slept for the first day. He came out for his bottle and a poop then right back in. After he knew I was his daddy and he was my baby everything was fun.
I got my Ragdolls (Brothers) when they were 13 weeks. Earlier is not allowed in Holland. They need the weeks to learn from their mother, brothers and sisters. This is really cruel. Poor kitty 😥
Yeah, right. My kittens couldn't wait to get out of the carrier when I brought them home and they tore up my apartment! They get into everything and think they are the boss! LOL
hahah a ragdoll "puppy" it says in the description. This cat is sooo friggin cute. So glad his human parents let him so nicely explore. Very peaceful gentle parents :) This video is just crazy adorable.
Awww....she’s too adorable!! Would you mind doing a video on the products you bought for her, where you bought them, and why you chose them? (I.e. carrier, litter box, toys, etc.) Id really appreciate it. Thnx so much for sharing your experience with this adorable baby. 💗
I also just bought a ragdoll kitten and named her pixie too! So exciting! I am so happy with her, she is such a sweetheart. Right now I am trying to teach her to walk with me, I wonder if this can work ... I think I fell in love
Seriously who the fuck in his right mind can dislike something like this? Look at that little thing! It's absolutely adorable, it can melt even Stalin's heart. Such beauty
I purchased a show cat, a Birman. The breeder would NOT sell me the kitten until it was 5 months old. She was a champion breeder from Switzerland. She said it was cruel to rip the kitten away from its mother before 5 months. How true. My cat is healthy and beautiful and secure and I am happy to know he enjoyed his little childhood with his mother. This cat is too young to be without his mom. Cruel.
A beautiful kitty for sure. I would have sat on the floor and patted and interacted with her way more to make her feel secure. I would have taken the mewing as a call from her for reassurance. Just my opinion though.
My cat philosophy is that cats love you much better when you leave them alone. I figure that unless the kitten is very small, you have at least two hours to introduce your new cat to the littler box, and much longer for everything else. When our cat came home, she was a senior cat that was in a carrier she considered too small. No trouble getting her out of it. To introduce her to her new cat tree (that she had never had before) I spread a little of her fur on it where she could smell. She took to everything quickly enough. Not to worry.
@@StephyDee how funny of you to assume that I'm not familiar with the breed. I am. My statement stands. You might want to consider the fact that other people actually do know about ragdolls before you answer like that.
yes probably because he was way too young.. 10 weeks is too young.. 12 a 13 weeks is the recommended time for any kitten but especially breeded like persians and rag dolls..

Is there anything cuter than a Ragdoll kitten? I think not. 😻
Persians will give the Ragdoll a run for the title!
British Shorthand up there as well

2 ragdoll kittens 😍

What an adorable kitten....and you did a fine job letting the kitty set the pace of what it wanted to do. You are excellent cat parents!

I thought the same thing! That his parents let him explore so nicely and set the pace. They really are such excellent cat parents!! A+ :D lol
