Full leather for the rear seats would have matched nicely with the leather front seats. That is the direction I would have went. Just my opinion, but these JDM Legend builds are amazing!
The rear covers clash against the front scheme of colors, might be worth swapping the mid panel. Let's see you guys install the covers & rails indeed! Diy life Congrats on the new bundle of joy Pete!
You guys will have no problem installing the rear covers, once you have the hog rings and the hog ring pliers the install is easy. Doing it yourself will be more rewarding than having it done for you.
I love this build series so much. I hope it stays online for the next 100 years to come. There is simply no other Supra build series on the Internet as complete, insightful and detailed as your Videos.
The Cloth racing seat looks better to me and fits the OEM+ theme. The rear seat covers are fine and they tie into the blueish speaker covers in the front. Yes, i want to see the hog rings installed on the seats even if it's a small part of the video. It's not that hard to do. I've done like 2 interiors myself and I'm no upholstery guy. That Tesla hoodie is dope, i would get one, but we only get 2 weeks of winter in Florida😅 great video SA! 💪
Screw hog rings. I've always used zip ties and a zip tie gun to install. It's super easy. Also, forget bending and prying the rings when removing, just cut them, lol.
I think you should go with the leather front seats and have the rears done by a professional in full leather matching the front. I'd also like to see a professional doing the work if possible.
I also would like to see a upholstery shop do the rears, especially because the quality of materials on the rears versus what is on the Recaro’s look terrible.
My Wife's Civic SiR (Canadian) had these weird stains on the driver's side door panel and on the shift knob. Honda actually replaced them twice under warranty. Later on, we found out it was a mix of sun blocker and skin lotion that did it. Love your content, as always!
Match the rear to the front. Also, steam the cushions before installing the rear covers, it plump the cushions and helps with the fitting. I did it when reupholstering my boat and it helps.
Congrats PT on the little one. Either those seats will be a great choice, although I would personally go with the GT, not a big fan of leather in long drives or extreme temps
Congrats PT!!! Greetings from Hawaii!!! DIY the rear covers, although a headache, DIY is always more rewarding and the experience since you acquired the hog rings and tool. Would love to see it. Front seats the leather has the looks; but the fabric has the purpose/function ... the decision should be based off of function over looks ... but that leather looks amazing and matches so well with the front. Purpose/Function: If the plan is to sell the car eventually or daily drive in the spring/summer, leather front seats ... if the car is to keep/collect and TMP track days then fabric front seats.
Congratulations to Pete for having all this amount of energy, spending most of his time filming these videos that we enjoy and still being a Man at his home where he's confirming not turning his back to his wife when bed time sleepy time 💪😄
I’m always a big fan of you guys trying and showing us as much as possible, I know you want your projects to come as close to perfect as possible but I respect attempting things yourself so much, even if it doesn’t come out as well. That’s one of the things I love about this channel so much is that you guys always try to do as much as you can yourselves and it’s so educational as a result because you can advise on what mistakes not to make and I learn something new every time!
I absolutely love the old ‘Players’ tobacco can as the zip tie container. Reminds me of my Dad’s old grungy garage. Keep up the strong work boys. Love the content. PT, good luck with the upcoming sleep deprivation phase.
I have used zip ties for years with no issues when replacing many seat covers with leather covers and also when removing and cleaning fabric seats covers.
Regarding the rear seat covers, I'm less concerned about the material but the colour clashes with the interior - I'd be getting something in black/gray.
leather front seats and honestly a rear seat delete with a faux rear shelf thing to cover the rear seat opening and hardware in the same carpet as the flooring . and congrats Pete on the kid!
I think it may clash guys. I also hope you guys give it a shot, I have to do my upper but been lazy on ordering it because of the lack of content on it. Thanks guys, keep up the good work and congrats !
I've redone the leather before 3 times on Supras. It is easy but time consuming. Just use zip ties, it is much easier than the rings. Congratulations Pete
Great taste guys! I really like the cloth. Kind of gives off a Fd3s rz/spirit R vibe. I would re-dye that carpet a nice deep black, but it is a supra so I understand if you don't want to ruin the purity.
Definitely go leather with alcantara (dinamica) on the inside. I've sold those seats for a while and that was the prettiest version of the Sportster CS sold here in Europe in my opinion.
i would have voted to have whatever you do with the front match the back. always down to see what you do on the car. none of it is boring to me. congrats to pete!
I'm pro-fabric seats for this one! As for the hog ring install, I'd love to see you piece the seat back together with them. Lastly, if you can maybe pull those cloth inserts from the front/rear and get some fabric paint to get them a bit closer to that blue, I think it would pull it all together!
Kind of like the idea of a rear seat delete, just have extended carpet. Congrats to PT on the pending new member of the team and good luck torque fitting those diapers (nappies as us Brits call them).
Tackle the upholstery, setting hog rings is way easier than you think it is. I did it twice recovering seats on Chevy trucks and it's very straightforward.
Congratulations to PT! I would take the cloth seats and see if you can paint the front and rear speaker covers to match the blue color of the rear seats.
Struggle bus for the interior so us noobs can try it at home learning from you guys! Congrats on number two Pete!!! Two kids here. That first year is… not easy.
Ah dealing with rusty hog rings is never a fun experience... I did it as a favor for my parents Sequoia, lots of work! had to reuse the hog rings with only a set of pliers as well which sucked. Doing it yourself is very satisfying though I can say and getting them fit up nice and tight as from when they were new. Some tips learned after the first seat are to just full commit to the replacement cover and use a razor blade to cut the old one off where hog ringed to the bars, run the blade along the long loop on the underside of the old cover. Much easier to open the rings up a bit leave in place then transfer the bars to the new cover. Lay it in place and work from back center of seat forward and out reclamping the rings. 1st cover was about 2.5-3 hours, second one took about 45 min start to finish. If heated, you will have to secure the pad in place OEM uses those plastic "T" wires price tags on clothes are secured with so once cut free useless. If power seats, you will probably have to cut the new leather cover for the wiring harness/switchgear to attach on the outside as well I found. Also make sure your tetanus shots are up to date!😵
Full leather front and back as it matches the interior so nicely. Upholstery is a beach, I say sub it out unless you really want to learn and show us in fast forward! Lol
Congrats Pete. I think the back seat looks a little weird. The insert piece is a little to light but I know some of that is probably the lighting. I got some replacement seats from Interior Innovations a couple years ago and they worked out awesome. Mine was just an OE style replacement though. Pretty cheap too for the quality. It would be pretty hard to get much interesting footage off installing. Its not hard to do but you really do have to get the cover pulled tight when you put the rings through. I never taped much but it seems like it would be hard to even literally tape it. I'm glad I did it at least once for like a personal accomplishment type of thing and I feel like I can run my mouth about more stuff. Its definitely not exciting though.
The functional guy in me wants to say the cloth seats, but for the sake of matching with the rear and because they have a simpler look I’d choose the leather seats and have a matching interior, and will definitely “level up” the Supra with something more premium
Definitely think the all leather rears would have looked better, but I would have probably made the same call in your situation. I love the "suede" inserts, but I would have been bummed if they turned out that blue
Congrats Pete! For the seats I'd go fabric just cause you know you're tracking them, then add on the leather deformities and it kinda seals the deal. I do feel like leather suits the grand touring style interior better visually though, somewhat unfortunately. If you run a harness, then maybe I'd say leather cause the harness should still keep you reasonably in place?
Late model JDM cars all have the issue of the interior being too small to fit a modern racing/sports seats. I had the same issue with my FC RX7, My solutions was to find the lowest seat on the market and make some custom adapters to the OEM sliders. I ended up using Tillett B5 carbon seats and CNC's some custom adapters, now I can sit comfortably with a helmet on.
Congratulations on the son! Do full leather back seats with leather fronts. You can work with an upholstery shop like NV auto and show us how it’s done when Pete’s out.
I think leather seats all around. Also it would be fun yo see how to fully install them and then let us know if it was worth doing the job or paying somebody. Congrats to pete on the baby boy!!!
Congrats Pete! It’s gotta be the leather recaros and get the rears reupholstered to match! Much more of a GT feel to them. Sorry to say you’ve had a bit of a stinker on that rear seat cover 😅 but absolutely knocking it out the park with this JDM legends series. I love that the problems with jobs and parts you run into aren’t glossed over, but highlighted - far more realistic!
The leather seats are waaaay better looking in there. They match the car very well and they are visually smaller that scale better with the interior. As long as they are real good leather that can breathe well there shouldn't be any problems. I like the look of those cloth seats too but they are big and makes it look like a trackday car. It depends on what material cloth they are but I can already feel my ass itch looking at those in long drives.
Congrats PT 👏! Dave ask yourself the question on whether you'll be sliding around in the leather seat or will you be better off in the suede seat? Race life or grand touring life?
Guys! Hog rings are easier than they look, you just have to go in the right order starting center, but you guys can totally do it with the hogring pliers and new hogrings. Also, hate to say it, its unfortunate, but the backseat does clash mates.
I think you should go with the leather seats and the back seat clashes pretty bad. I think black in the back to match the front would look much better. Just my opinion! Love the channel, keep up the great work.
Not sure if you saw my comment in the last video but I mentioned the exact problem you're having with the seats. I ordered both the Planted and Titan brackets. Planted were obviously too high and the Titan brackets would not mount to the Sportster seats at all. The base is way too narrow so I'm in the process of modifying my Planted brackets. I could not get all 3 things to be true: keep the hog ring in the tool, grab the cover and the rod in the seat, and crimp. I could get 2 of the 3 but almost never all 3. Zip ties where much easier. Plus with zip ties, I could gradually tighten them in sets. This made the cover settle into the seat easier without extra stresses in the system.
Full leather for the rear seats would have matched nicely with the leather front seats. That is the direction I would have went. Just my opinion, but these JDM Legend builds are amazing!
Definitely I’m not a fan of the current look.
Same here matching leather front & rear would’ve been perfect
Classy and matches the knob and the wheel too.
That rear seat didn't look bad at all. They could've just cleaned it up and put it back in the car, as I doubt anyone would ever sit back there. 😉
The rear covers clash against the front scheme of colors, might be worth swapping the mid panel. Let's see you guys install the covers & rails indeed! Diy life
Congrats on the new bundle of joy Pete!
Seeing your choices, do all black leather. Matching front and rears really tie it together.
Leather all the way around! Front Recaros and the backseats! Will look amazing
You guys will have no problem installing the rear covers, once you have the hog rings and the hog ring pliers the install is easy. Doing it yourself will be more rewarding than having it done for you.
I love Saturday mornings - new episodes of Speed Academy and LegitStreetCars!
Part of my routine too!
Same here. Add gears and gasoline as well.
Gears and Gasoline too!
I love this build series so much. I hope it stays online for the next 100 years to come.

100% agree with that. For me, the other choice would be to delete the rear seat and put a Half cage in it and just carpet the floor.
I also would like to see a upholstery shop do the rears, especially because the quality of materials on the rears versus what is on the Recaro’s look terrible.
I love everything you've done with the supra so far except those rear seat covers. They just clash. Also cloth Recaros are a huge W.
My Wife's Civic SiR (Canadian) had these weird stains on the driver's side door panel and on the shift knob. Honda actually replaced them twice under warranty. Later on, we found out it was a mix of sun blocker and skin lotion that did it. Love your content, as always!
Got the CS's fitted from OEM in my RS200 Clio and I absolutely love them - definitely one of the best seats made I must agree
Found them too slippery in my meg rs. Cloth would definitely hold better
Great video as usual!
Choice is easy for me, leather in the front and back; it matches the headliner, the center console, the dash and most trims.
That's a lot of more parts of the Modified Cars from Toyota Supra for a legendary spirit of the Future.
Great work team.
Congrats PT!!! Greetings from Hawaii!!!
DIY the rear covers, although a headache, DIY is always more rewarding and the experience since you acquired the hog rings and tool. Would love to see it.

I would go full leather front and rear. The back clashes too much. Love the seats.
Regarding the rear seat covers, I'm less concerned about the material but the colour clashes with the interior - I'd be getting something in black/gray.
Full leather for sure on those rear seat covers. It's the clash in colours rather than the material.
Congrats on the new family member Pete
leather front seats and honestly a rear seat delete with a faux rear shelf thing to cover the rear seat opening and hardware in the same carpet as the flooring . and congrats Pete on the kid!
Why did you do blue suede centers for the rear seats ? Full leather clearly would have matched better if you weren’t covering the fronts in the same
Its black suede. The lighting makes it look more blueish than they really are.
Leather front and back, Yes vote on the video, and Congrats on the new addition to the family, take your time and enjoy that life event!
Congratulations on your baby boy PT happy for you wish you all the best buddy!
I think it may clash guys. I also hope you guys give it a shot, I have to do my upper but been lazy on ordering it because of the lack of content on it. Thanks guys, keep up the good work and congrats !
Congratulations Pete. Very happy for you. You are a good man!
Full black leather for the rear seats, leather recaros in the front will look the best. Congratulations on the new addition Pete ✌️
I've redone the leather before 3 times on Supras. It is easy but time consuming. Just use zip ties, it is much easier than the rings.
Congratulations Pete
Con gratulations on your new member of the Family 👍😁. I am sure you guys can perform the seat covers 👍👌
No question. Leather one all the way easily. Congrats Pete!
The red on the Supra looks amazing, CE28s are a classic wheel that is very underrated
Cloth > Leather
Function > Form
Keep up the great work guys!
Fabric seats and covers match well.
I wouldn't mind seeing you two tackle the upholstery, it's always worth watching some aspects of a build that we're not always accustom to seeing.
Congrats Pete! We just has #2 a few wks ago. Keep up the great work!
love to follow your videos, bought the tool for the rear and front main seals for the crank cuz of u! best videos :D
Great taste guys! I really like the cloth. Kind of gives off a Fd3s rz/spirit R vibe. I would re-dye that carpet a nice deep black, but it is a supra so I understand if you don't want to ruin the purity.
Congrats PT!! Now for the car, I'm digging the full leather look for all seats. Really would tie the whole car together.
Congrats PT! Blessings to you and the family. 🙏🏽
Fabric seat looks dirty, and the rear seats really look blue, but good when tightened down.
Congrats Pete!!
I'm pro-fabric seats for this one! As for the hog ring install, I'd love to see you piece the seat back together with them. Lastly, if you can maybe pull those cloth inserts from the front/rear and get some fabric paint to get them a bit closer to that blue, I think it would pull it all together!
All the best wishes to you and your family PT!!! Keep up the excellent job you guys
Kind of like the idea of a rear seat delete, just have extended carpet. Congrats to PT on the pending new member of the team and good luck torque fitting those diapers (nappies as us Brits call them).
Would love to see you guys try the install of the cover. Im debating on tackling that myself on mine.
Man the hint of blue on the suede is a huge eye sore. But can’t go wrong with either front seat both look great!
I just installed those in my Lexus IS-F but in leather/carbon weave fabric and love them!
I think full leather, both front and back, would be my choice. Great videos on these JDM Legends!
Struggle bus for the interior so us noobs can try it at home learning from you guys! Congrats on number two Pete!!! Two kids here. That first year is… not easy.
Congrats on the new addition to the family!!!!
Suede was an interesting choice as it doesn't match either seat choice at all. For true OEM+, things really have to match up.
Congrates Pete. Great videos guys always enjoy watching
Ah dealing with rusty hog rings is never a fun experience... I did it as a favor for my parents Sequoia, lots of work! had to reuse the hog rings with only a set of pliers as well which sucked. I like the fabric. The design in the center kinda sets it off more than the leather.
Full leather front and back as it matches the interior so nicely. Upholstery is a beach, I say sub it out unless you really want to learn and show us in fast forward! Lol
Leather is the way to go for me.👍🏼
Good video guys.
And congrats 🎈
Congrats Pete.

PTs son will be one lucky dude, in about a couple of decades his arsenal of cars to choose from will be huge
Definitely think the all leather rears would have looked better, but I would have probably made the same call in your situation. I love the "suede" inserts, but I would have been bummed if they turned out that blue

Congrats Pete! my second just landed as well! In this together!
Late model JDM cars all have the issue of the interior being too small to fit a modern racing/sports seats. I ended up using Tillett B5 carbon seats and CNC's some custom adapters, now I can sit comfortably with a helmet on.
Congratulation Pete.
it's a tough one, like you said, but the cloth one looked good inside the car.
Congrats Pete!
Leather seats if the rears were kept leather. But cloth seats with the new backseat cover.
14:30 Seats look blue and gray to me. Cloth buckets if you want a race look and leather if you want that OEM+ look.
That katakana symbol is “SU”, maybe to denote SU-PRA. Also, congratulations PT!
damn I love those seats. they look like comfortable versions of the Nismo Z seats
the symbol embossed in the seat at 3:15 is the japanese katakana for SU. not sure why it is there.
Congratulations on the son! Do full leather back seats with leather fronts. You can work with an upholstery shop like NV auto and show us how it’s done when Pete’s out.
Great build! Love the Supra. I would go with the leather, looks better and usually wears better over time.
Congratulations Pete! I have an Evo X MR that has suede/leather recall combos. Love them. Maybe see if you can scoop some of those up
I think leather seats all around. Also it would be fun yo see how to fully install them and then let us know if it was worth doing the job or paying somebody. Congrats to pete on the baby boy!!!
It digging the Nova Suede. I’d go for all leather with the Sportster CS. Congrats PT!
Congratulations, Pete!!!🎊🍾🎉
Congrats Pete!
It’s gotta be the leather recaros and get the rears reupholstered to match! Much more of a GT feel to them. Sorry to say you’ve had a bit of a stinker on that rear seat cover 😅 but absolutely knocking it out the park with this JDM legends series.
I love that the problems with jobs and parts you run into aren’t glossed over, but highlighted - far more realistic!
Congrats on the little one - trust all is well and he has arrived by now!
Full leather for the rear seat covers would match perfectly with the full leather recaro seats and interior in my opinion
Congrats PT, don't worry about the videos, family first
Definitely think the leather seats look best so it gives the car a bit of an OEM+ look since it more closely matches the rest of the interior.
I was cloth seats all the way through until you put them in the car and leather suits it soo much more!!
Cloth is way cooler looking and more supportive for track, yet the supra is a grand touring monster. I would prefer the cloth.
I think you should go with the leather seats and the back seat clashes pretty bad. I think black in the back to match the front would look much better. Just my opinion! Love the channel, keep up the great work.
The cloth seat looks a lot better imho. Congrats Pete !
I think you may be in luck because I've seen a recent post on a Supra Facebook group mentioning that someone reached out to Titan about this problem and that they are redesigning them to work now. I hope you guys get the updated ones.
What a clean build... It's lovely 👍
+1 for zip ties instead of hog rings. 3/4 the way though this job on a Miata. I could not get the hog rings to work.
I'd go with the black fabric and get a black fabric cover to match in the rear. And congrats pt
