I'm already an exerciser - have been most of my life. But I want to focus on PD specific programming. I have had issues with meds - my body doesn't tolerate them well, so I walk daily a mile or more but want to expand to more and varied forms to keep me motivated!

at the start of the new year i have decided to call my parkinson's disease my parkinson's gift, this changes the whole scenario since a disease tends to make one feel like a victim while a gift provides the possibility of a more positive attitude. i base this on the understanding that positive thought is a strong force and that most of Parkinson's attitude occur in the brain. over the weeks that i have taken this on i have felt more positive about my parkinson's gift.

Hello Sarah, I would like to incorporate some kind of physical activity, based on the exercise you propose, tai chi or yoga and dancing. However, it is difficult to find the resources. I bought some DVDs to help me design a program for myself and fortunately, I discovered your website and it has helped me a great deal. At this point i am not sure how to start on my own.

I have been a PD trainee for 11 yrs and am fortunate that I still do everything I did before. I am wondering if Pilates is a tolerable exercise for me and if there is anything I should be aware of? Your programs seem awesome. I am interested. I went to 2 classes that were for PD. Both group activity but they appeared to be for more advanced conditions. I love the idea of a PT involved.

I'm the sole caregiver for my mother, aged 87, who has had PD for about 10 years now. I really need to know what exercises would benefit someone of her age. She can't do many of the core exercises in your videos although I know they would be beneficial for her. What are the most important for someone of her age?

Hi there I have had Parkinson's for several years I was diagnosed in 2013, and since then I have had the hardest time sleeping I'm trying to figure out the best mattress for Parkinson's patient. My husband and I had hey Sleep Number bed for several years we had it for 10 years and it just finally became like I was sleeping on cement because it was so hard I could never find my sleep number, LOL. So finally the last couple weeks we've been looking around for the right type of mattress and we found what was called the Tomorrowsleep mattress and we've been sleeping on it for the past couple weeks and I swear I feel like I have been beaten up every time I get out of that bed I can barely move around in it, well I could barely move around In the Sleep Number bed also. But this tomorrow sleep bed is actually more comfortable than the Sleep Number bed but for some reason I still hurt when I get up and this new bed is also listed as number one of the top 10 beds online. But I just wonder if you've heard anything about what would be the best type of mattress for Parkinson's patients, and also the best way to sleep, it's so hard to sleep on either side of my body, I can't even sleep on my stomach and when I sleep on my back it hurts too so I just feel I'm just getting worse on this bed even though I was bad as it was on the old bed so I just don't know what kind of bed I need. Would you happen to have any idea? Thank you

I use a bed that inclines and I love it. The Beautyrest black hybrid on a platform the inclines. I'm also looking at the magnet pads. magneticosleep.com/why-were-better/comparison-diagram/

I use to run, kick box, spin. Haven’t done anything in over a year. Dx. 2017. I still am very active , gardening, house duties, paint. Just have not been motivated to do spin, can’t stay on bike more than 5-7 minutes and I begin to shake vigorously. So I stopped. Need motivation.

My dad is going through the process of being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he also has heart problems and a back condition and we are on a tight budget. Not sure if we are going to be able to do all these things.
