Monk is one of the great detectives and no one could play him better than Shalhoub. My favourite moment in Monk is when a villain claims Monk has something on his nose and tries to use a handkerchief soaked in chloroform to incapacitate him. Monk realises that the handkerchief is soaked in chloroform, but his OCD makes him more concerned about being clean than being drugged, so he keeps trying to wipe his nose as he collapses. 😂
Tony Shalhoub is my favorite actor of all time. Such a talented actor and overall awesome person. Also very handsome, even at 71! I wish he was my uncle or mentor.
I saw Tony Shalhoub in “The Band Came to Town” about ten years ago on Broadway. I am a long time Monk fan, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn how well he could sing. Come to think of it, David Cross is a great singer too. Neato
Oh man. I just watched enough to confirm this was recorded before the election results. Somebody needs to check on Dave. The next podcast is going to be interesting. Tony seems like a great guy. You two seem to have a good raport.
You sang that trump protecting the ladies song in Toronto! It was a great show. Bob's intro was a nice bonus! Thanks for making the trip, and yes you should move here.
Would like to hear more from the guest. David often asks questions then cuts off the guest to talk about his experiences. Big fan of David’s but he’s monopolizing a ton of the time and doesn’t seem particularly interested in the guest - doesn’t ask follow up questions to drill deeper. Tony’s a super interesting guy and I don’t feel we got much of him.
David likes to deconstruct the premises/concept/context of someone's joke/comment and throws back the illogical parts (or the whole statement) smack dab in the person's face. It is awkwardly fun to watch. I would hate to be the person trying to have a sincere conversation with Mr. Cross, but I do love the marketing image of David Cross.
@@Bonesince1997 More importantly, would David ask? Its funny how David was always the guy who questioned the establishment and was a rebel then at some point became like every other CNN watching lefty nut with TDS. David has bought into the establishment propraganda and is no longer a free thinker. Maybe be never really was, idk. Oh well, at least he has those M&M commercials to fall back on.
Well Tony, I didn't know you came in here with an agenda. That's ok. No one informed me. I'm not gonna hold it against you. Umm, so tell about the aforementioned podcast about the election.
wtf, I absolutely did not expect Tony to appear on this podcast. I absolutely love his work on Monk and most everything he's done.. all way back to Barton Fink.
my favourite thing about dylan (sebastian dylan) was his metoric rise - and i mean he had the intensity of a thousand suns. and then like that, after 3-4 years he was done. and in his later years came his downfall. and when I say he went downhill I mean he really went downhill - anyone that goes to his shows nowadays hates it. he's awful. and that's my favourite thing about dylan
I feel that this episode was aort of a dud. Shaloub meanders and mumbles a lot, and never really says anything interesting, or even amusing. It seemed like Cross was reallly trying hard to get some energy going in the conversation. Maybe Shaloub was just very tired? Shit happens.
God. I’m watching this here after the election and this conversation about what might happen before it happened is depressing as hell.
I freakin love Tony Shalhoub!! From Wings, Monk, Galaxy Quest, I've been enjoying his acting my whole life!
Quick Change!
Wow a men in black reunion podcast

-A lot of people think I'm from New York.
- Thats racist. Where do you live now?
-New York
It wrote itself 😂
"all pretzels" 😂
I always love him the most for his fast talking seen it all before movie producer in Barton Fink. So many great lines delivered perfectly.
I really needed this. I think this is the funniest I've ever seen TS, unironically at a time of heightened emotions

Such a a cute episode. I honestly wish it could have been longer. I hope David can get Tony to come back at some point.
it is so obvious when david enjoys talking to his guest, rofl

Sweet summer children
I so envy their ignorance.
i love tony so much, ty for letting us to see him before the year overa

Tony seems like a great guy. You two seem to have a good raport.
Someone needs to check on David's young daughter who already has TDS drilled into her by her wealthy, Hollywood actor parents.
Hello I’m actor Tony Shalhoub from Monk. Congratulations on your strike!
Good perfect song pick Tony!
Yea,we're there now

I have the same observations, but I don't believe anything is gonna change - David's being David; that's the podcast framework.
His senses are working overtime, please give him some leeway.
David’s podcast, you are actually here for him not the guest.
Lebanon ❤
Can find you on Spotify or any other podcast streaming site
Great fun and stories 😀
Hello from Door County!
43:31 "I'm not a clubber" I think that's what they used to call people with club feet.
Tony Shaloub! 😍 I love him in Monk and WINGS! 🎉
OK, so excited to see this. Thank You!
He sounds and looks amazing. 🤗
David is gonna be on Joe Rogan in 2 days, can’t wait!
Gonna be epic.
Tell your peeps. Make it Happen.
Mr Monk Goes to a Freak Off
71 year old ! he looks like 57
2 comedy legends

I know him from Wings
Time for David to have Hank Azaria on...
Or how about Jay Johnston?
But would he come??

But David Justice was a character in moneyball.
And married to Halle Berry.
Big Night!
Didn't David end up doing at least 2 MIB movies? Pretty sure I remember seeing him again in a totally different role in one of the sequels
Guess I could have listened to the full episode before I commented 😂
EMMA!!!!! 🤣
i told you nelk boys was the right business strategy
I never understood how Monk could afford to pay women to follow him around everywhere. Detectives don't make that much money.
fruit flies should be listed in the worms' apartment guide if u ask me
Yet another example of old men talking young men dying!!!!

Message to David: Think about it like we're all spending 4 years in jail.
Right, because the last 4 years with Biden have been great for anyone.
Free Jay Johnston!
MONK

How long did we have to wait for The Weight?
1:03:00 😂❤
Was everyone as bored as Tony and I during the daughter bit
I also thought David Cross played Tony Shalhoub's character in Men in Black and it's pretty strange to hear other people thought the same thing
So you thought David played 2 different characters in MIB?
May be about that time to unsubscribe i guess. Lmao.
Just bought OH COME ON ON VINYL
uploading at 3am?
David is an ammunition hoarder.

Fast af click.
Free Jay Johnston.
The cast of Mr. Show disowned him. Those types of people would disown their own parents if it helped their career even a tiny bit.
idc that you guys are liberals. you're still hilarious
That guy wants to let farve go free. What an 🫏⭕️
