I really needed this. I had surgery and it doesn’t look like it’s getting better. I have to get it packed every two days and I think the infection is trying to come back. During the first surgery I felt everything so I’m nervous to go back. Thanks for the video. It made me feel much better about going ahead and getting the surgery over with 💕

Ouch! I know the feeling of it just continuing to get infected: not fun. Best of luck!

I have one too and it is strangely satisfying to drain (by pushing the liquid out) but annoying when it gets infected. Hope you feel better.

Preauricular pits occur in about 0.1-0.9% of the population in the United States. They are more common in Asian-American children (10%), African-American children (5%), and Caucasian-American children (1%).
I have an infection now going on and i'm scared of what the doctor will tell me. I afraid of it getting worse so I need to go to the hospital before it gets worse. Growing up i can only recall having a severe infection at the age of 7-8 and now I'm 23 and having another outbreak. The pain is horrible.

Hi! I hope you answer my question. I had an operation last year and it reoccurred the same year. Last month I had a second surgery and it took me a month to get it healed, I think its not fully healed. My question is do you still feel some itchiness inside where the sac was removed? I don’t know if its normal, my doctor said it is but I’m kinda scared it will reoccurs again. Thanks in advance for the answer.

Ive had a similar experience with my first surgery to remove my preauricular sinus was unsuccessfull and ive had infections and swelling come and go just like you, which is a real annoyance! Im having my second surgery in about a week. I haven't been put on antibiotics before surgery like you did, so i wonder if I should be worried about that. My ear keeps swelling and draining every week or two 🥴

I was born with a preauricular sinus. It has never been infected in my 69 yrs. until a few months ago. Now it is infected again. Antibiotics worked the last time. Hopefully it will help this time.

Much, much better! Actually had to have 1 more surgery because the little stinker came back after 6 months! But the doctor said that was really rare and it coming back again would be even crazier.
