@@SinusDoctor1 that’s a relief. The way he was talking at the time, it seemed like an anomaly that they hadn’t shrunk away by that point. I wound up having deviated septum surgery instead of adenoid removal, which (combined with seasonal allergy medication) cleared 75% of my symptoms.
Curious as to why you've chosen not to remove your adenoids? I suspect my husband also still has adenoids and is the root of problems for him. He has a CPAP, but he has Apnatic episodes while standing and talking! My 8yo daughter just had her adenoids removed for a 2nd TIME (1st time was adenotonsilectomy @ 4yo) 35 mintues ago. One of them grew to completely block her nasal passage. The ENT said he's never done it a 3rd time, that it'd be 1 in a million. I was googling the chances of them regrowing again and her needing a 3rd surgery when I came across this video.
@@niki-matildajanegoodhartpe3465 good question… I found out I still had adenoids when I was approximately 30 years old or so. Up until that point and to this day, no doctor I’ve ever had has recommended or suggested I remove them. My ent just commented it was funny they were still there. More pressing was my severely deviated and overly thick septum, which he recommended surgical correction for and I had. That procedure alone was a huge life improvement for me.
So very well explained sir. You covered many aspects. So truly said sir. My elder child had the same issue and we realised very late. We finally got him operated at the age of 13, but by now, his round cute face already changed to very elongated narrow and long face along with a little crowning of teeth. Is there any way to get his face to a better/rounder structure again?
This has been very informative, you simplified medical terminology and put me at ease . The ENT has scheduled my 3year old for both adenoids and tonsils removal (grade 3) , I was too stressed but super confident after watching this video. Thank so much
We are based in Germany and after watching this video, we felt at ease. My boy is 2,8 years old and is just about to get the Adenoids removed. Thank you very much doctor.
Dr. Pls my 9 year old son has been diagnosed with adenoids but because my daughter had complications after she went through tonsillectomy, we are therefore scared of going through the surgery, is it possibel he will be fine after some time.
Humm I had this problem 13 to 14 years around now my son got the same symptoms , now I started studying about the symptoms and met ent doctor he said he will get ear infection I got scared but I suffer my ear pain till I get 14 years I used to get blood from ear drum doctor said I have holes that is y I got infection which is not real😢 now I came to know I had adenoids problem while my childhood and doctor don’t how to treat them thank you sir for explaining
My 9 year daughter has all the symptoms you narrated. She is diagnosed pre-diabetic. I was suggested surgery after further analysis and since then she experienced infection twice in 2 months, soon after the treatment course. Her face is getting elongated and teeth jumbling is also seen. She also experiences hearing loss at times before or during infection. I was asked by a colleague to consult homeopathic doctor.
Hi, my patients are not happy with homeopathy treatment. You can try it for 2-3 months as you wish. If symptoms persist, then go ahead for surgery as per your doctors advice.
If possible plz do tell us what r the foods to avoid during this adenoid infection stage nd what foods to be given for the betterment of child ....that's my humble request.
Thank you so much Dr. This truly filled me with peace, knowing i may be up for this procedure with my soon to be 3yr old child. Please how long does recovery take after the procedure?
Hello Dr. Chaitanya Rao, my son 6 y.o had adenoid surgery two months ago, we found a side effect that the upper oropharynx (near the nasopharynx) thickened, so that the naso-oropharyngeal opening became narrow, now he has heard wheezing and snoring at night or during the day while sleeping. What happened?Have you ever had a case of a patient like this? Thanks for your attention
Stenosis on nasopharynx, the rare case, do you kno how about the treatment? Are the stenosis will being normal formation naturally without any surgery?
Dear doctor. My grandson 6 years old has adenoid and recommended for surgery. The doubt is once removed I am informed by sources that the voice may change or taste and smell may reduce. So I am scared. Please advise. Thank u .
My three-year-old has enlarged adenoids and struggles to breathe at night. I am on a waiting list for surgery. I've started giving her elderberry syrup every day. I didn't notice much change, but I heard it helps. Then one night, she slept well, with no snoring and no issues. I thought back to what I had done differently that day.... Well, I added sea salts to her bath. The next day she was back to the same problem, not being able to breathe well, snoring etc... So I decided to test out the theory and added sea salts to the bath... And guess what... She slept like a baby again. I've been doing this daily because I've noticed it has helped. I also add eucalyptus essential oil (optional), but you don't need to; I'm just trying new things until she has her surgery.
@@monikasaini123 she is great, back to normal. Surgery is booked for the end of the year but her breathing is back to normal. I really do believe it is because I bath her in salt water. I've noticed she now breaths from her nose whilst she sleeps.
What a wonderfully clear and comprehensible explanation of adenoids! Excellent! I wish every doctor, particularly in clinics, would expound on medical issues in a similar manner, fostering a sense of comfort and confidence among patients. Sadly, this seems to be lacking in today's era, as the medical profession is increasingly adopting a business-oriented approach at an alarming rate.
Hello Dr. Chaitanya Rao, thank you for the wonderful explanation. My 3-year-old son has some symptoms you have mentioned, and two ENT doctors of two hospitals in China suggest my son should have his adenoids removed based on the following: 1. CT-scan and X-ray show his adenoids are in grade 3 (70% blockage). 2. He wakes up 1-3 times a night, but he’s still quite energetic in the day, no daytime fatigue or short attention span. 3. He sometimes breathes through his mouth, and sometimes snores, but not always. 4. He sometimes rubs his nose and sniffs. Can enlarged adenoids cause that or allergy? He is kinda allergic to dust. 5. Nothing wrong with his ears; no ear infection. My questions are 1. “Do you think his symptoms are severe enough to have a removal operation?”. 2. Or should we try medication first and see if there is any improvement, and then decide whether to have an operation later? I trust you and really need your advice. Thank you for your time.
Hi @yanil535. Please kindly suggest help because my 3 year 8 month baby boy also grade 3 adenoids . Both pediatrician and ENT doctors told to use antibiotics and nasal spray for 1 month and asked to come after 1 month for further checkup. Please tell us how to overcome and to reduce adenoids especially night he is snoring a lot and bad breathing.
My child is 1.8 years old. He wakes up all the time at night. He has been suffering from adenoids for the past 11 months. Is it possible to perform surgery on a child of this age?
Very informative sir.. we consulted ent, doctor gave antibiotics n suggested surgery if repeated...along with antibiotics, does home remedies help to get ride of adinoids in children like gargling, garlic, honey, turmeric etc...
Hi, Certainly, home remedies like gargling, honey, turmeric, and garlic can help manage some symptoms of adenoid problems and boost immunity. However, they can't shrink the adenoids or cure adenoid hypertrophy. In cases where adenoid enlargement is causing significant symptoms such as snoring, breathing difficulties, recurrent ear or sinus infections, Surgery is recommended. Always discuss additional treatments with your child's doctor. They provide the best personalised advice.
Dr, where do you work? My son is suffering from enlarged adenoids. Doctor's here in Hyderabad advised for it's complete removal. I'm kind of agree to what doctor's saying but just worried about efficiency of these doctor's. I want to give my son best treatment. Hi Doc, thank you for the video. I took my son to the Doctor about three months ago. He gave my 2 year old some medicine and sent him home. Since the symptoms did not disappear, i took him to the same Doctor again who just gave him meds and stated he is too your to undego surgery go remove his tonsils. What would you recommend I do at this point?

He just responded by telling me I should be optimistic and not negative. My son is now 30 months old. It's difficult for me to have a peaceful sleep at night because I'm always looking out for him.

My daughter is 7.5yrs old now. We are planning adenoidectomy in two months as she has 80% blockage and mouth breather. Is it too late as doc said her permanent teeth is starting to protrude
Hello Doctor Thank you for such infomative video. My daughter is 7yrs old. We were supposed to take the flight and my daughter was having flu that time. During the flight landing she had severe ear pain. We consulted the ENT afterwards and got to know that her eardrum is retracted during the flight landing. ENT has advised putting gommets and also removal of adenoids and tonsils? *I have 2 concerns here.* 1) Is it possible to put gommets in the retracted eardrum ? 2) Does adenoids removal will open the eustachian tubes ?
Hi, grommets can be placed in a retracted ear drum. Adenoids removal unblocks the eustachian tube opening in the back of nose. Also adenoids is source of infection and inflammation for the eustachian tube and ear. Please take second opinion if you have any doubts.
Very well explained.. my 5 year old daughter is scheduled for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at same time is it ok to do both at same time? Is it safe?
I have a question, is it inheritable? Coz I had this problem when I was a kid and now my daughter has the same problem and the Dr. told me that she needs surgery. So is it inheritable?
Hello doctor its very nice and informative video. My son is 5 years old and we are observing these symptoms. We took him to ENT for his ear wax cleaning then we came to know he is having adenoids. And took x ray there they have given 60% of blockage. So she is saying we need to do surgery. But one of the senior ENT in our friends circle is aaying still i will consider it as grade 2only. So we can use medicines and spray it will shrink by the age of seven. So please suggest us what to do. Now its a burning situation for us. Looking for the second opinion from experts.

Hi Doctor thank you for explaining us in detail. My daughter 3.5years has frequent cold and some times fever from past 3-4 months, whenever we use medication she gets well but in some days again she is feeling sick and this is happening since she goes to school, so when recently went to a Ent specialist doctor found that my daughter has adenoids, so she suggested for a surgery so could you suggest us on this and if have to undergo then will she able to bear the pain and how many days will it takes to recover and any side effects?
Hi, surgery can be done if necessary. If you are in doubt, kindly seek second opinion. Adenoids surgery alone is not very painful, my patients tolerate it well.
Hello Doctor, Thanks for this video. It's very informative. I am living in Germany. My daughter is 5 yrs old. She has the symptoms of Adenoiditis from last 8-9 months. We have checked with the doctor and they prescribed her a nasal spray. But, the situation remained same now doctor suggested the adenoidectomy. But, they never done any x-ray or CT- scan, they just checked through mouth and ear. She has middle-ear infection too which lead to a slight hearing loss. Doctor has suggested for draining the ear-fluid too. I have two questions: 1. Without any x-ray or CT-scan and without knowing the grade of Adenoiditis, is it good to go for surgery?? 2. What is the process of drainage of ear-fluid..?? Is it surgical too ? We will talk to her doctor again regarding this but, before that I really need your advice in this matter.
Hi Your child’s doctor must have done an endoscopy which is equally as good as an Xray. We do not do CT scans for children unless absolutely necessary. Yes draining ear fluid is done surgically at the same time adenoidectomy is being done.

I wound up having deviated septum surgery instead of adenoid removal, which (combined with seasonal allergy medication) cleared 75% of my symptoms.
Glad to know. Take care
Thank you doctor for wonderful video, I will get it done for my daughter
Thank you 🙏🏼
Very informative,Sir one Video on after adenoidectomy recovery and precautions
Hi, Sure will make it, thanks for your suggestion.
Thank you very much indeed
You are very welcome 🙏🏼
So very well explained sir. You covered many aspects. So truly said sir. My elder child had the same issue and we realised very late. We finally got him operated at the age of 13, but by now, his round cute face already changed to very elongated narrow and long face along with a little crowning of teeth. Is there any way to get his face to a better/rounder structure again?
Thanks for sharing. You can meet a dental doctor and check if the teeth arrangement can be sorted but the rest cannot be changed easily.
Thanks a lot Sir! All doubts are came…

Hi, No, I did not encounter such problem in my experience.
Stenosis on nasopharynx, the rare case, do you kno how about the treatment? Are the stenosis will being normal formation naturally without any surgery?
Hello Doc, is it adviceable to allow a 5 months old undergo the surgery?
Dear doctor. My grandson 6 years old has adenoid and recommended for surgery. The doubt is once removed I am informed by sources that the voice may change or taste and smell may reduce. So I am scared. Please advise. Thank u .
Hi, no such changes will occur.
Glad to hear your baby is doing well. As long is she sleeping soundly without mouth breathing/ snoring/ ear issues, you can try whatever works for her
How's your daughter now ? My kids have same problem.
Toh have u taken surgery?
How she is doing
@@monikasaini123 she is great, back to normal. Surgery is booked for the end of the year but her breathing is back to normal. I really do believe it is because I bath her in salt water. I've noticed she now breaths from her nose whilst she sleeps.

Hi, don't worry. Please meet your nearby ENT doctor.
Thank you for your appreciation 🙏
Word is all doctors have lot of Ego. They expect you to not ask any doubt and follow prescription silently and blindly.
Can someone tell me if it's hurt or not?or do i have to remove my tonsils for adenoid?i am really scared because i have Remove that both😅😟
Hi, Sorry, i do not understand your question.
Hello Dr. Chaitanya Rao, thank you for the wonderful explanation. My 3-year-old son has some symptoms you have mentioned, and two ENT doctors of two hospitals in China suggest my son should have his adenoids removed based on the following:
Hi, you can try medication first and see how your child is responding.
Your child probably have asthma
Hi @yanil535. Please kindly suggest help because my 3 year 8 month baby boy also grade 3 adenoids . Both pediatrician and ENT doctors told to use antibiotics and nasal spray for 1 month and asked to come after 1 month for further checkup. I am 26 years old.. I have grade 2 Adenioditis.. Do I have to go for surgery? I feel always nasal blockage. What are the risks of the surgery sir???

Since the symptoms did not disappear, i took him to the same Doctor again who just gave him meds and stated he is too your to undego surgery go remove his tonsils. What would you recommend I do at this point?
Hi, what are the symptoms of your child and what was the diagnosis?
@@SinusDoctor1 the Doctor says his tonsils are swollen. That's the only thing he said. I recently had tonsillitis and it was cured by medications from doctor.

Hi, yes, if ENT doctor has recommended, can go ahead.
My daughter is 7.5yrs old now. We are planning adenoidectomy in two months as she has 80% blockage and mouth breather. Is it too late as doc said her permanent teeth is starting to protrude
Hi, please focus on what can be done now. Remedial measures can be taken for other consequences.
Hello Doctor
Thank you for such infomative video.
*I have 2 concerns here.*
1) Is it possible to put gommets in the retracted eardrum ?
2) Does adenoids removal will open the eustachian tubes ?
Hi, grommets can be placed in a retracted ear drum. Adenoids removal unblocks the eustachian tube opening in the back of nose. Also adenoids is source of infection and inflammation for the eustachian tube and ear. Please take second opinion if you have any doubts.
Thank you for your reply Doctor 🙏

No, it is not inheritable.

@@SinusDoctor1 thanks for the clarification on this doctor
Hello Doctor,
Thanks for this video.
I have two questions:
Hi
Your child’s doctor must have done an endoscopy which is equally as good as an Xray. We do not do CT scans for children unless absolutely necessary.
Yes draining ear fluid is done surgically at the same time adenoidectomy is being done.
