Spinning or Baitcaster? What's your favorite?
Spinning is my favorite
Spinning rod never tried the baitcaster yet
FishingWithNorm bait caster
Spinning all day
Spinning just cuz its u can throw more baits i own both
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
I love my baitcasters, but I couldn't live without my spinning combos. Especially for night fishing.
I love messing with a birds nest at 10pm, what do you mean?
Spinning: cast any lure, cast into the wind, vertical fall/presentation, no backlash.
Baitcaster: Damn it!
I remember a fellow fisherman was trying to convince me to "upgrade" to a baitcaster because I was using spinning to catch king salmon. I told him I don't want to deal with backlash. And he said it just takes practice and he recommend his baitcaster reel which comes with a feature that helps prevent backlash. I was intrigued. And then a few casts later, he had a backlashed that took him out of commission for 20 minutes, and then he was like "Yea, stick to your spinning." LOL
It’s amazing to see how much you’ve grown, I’ve been with the channel since 3000 subs, it’s amazing to see how much growth there’s been in such a short time keep up the amazing work
Jared Ross thanks Jared! Narmy 💪
Spinner all day baby🔥🤙🏻
Ryan Iz Fishing I already know your answer 😂
FishingWithNorm I can whoop you with both though 🤪🤣
Ryan Iz Fishing dang chill ryan😂
Not hating or arguing, but I can cast anywhere with my spinning combo that you can with a bait caster combo 🤷🏼♂️
💯👊🎣 🏆🔥 I think so too and I would compete with anybody to prove so. I do like my Shimano scorpion DC and my silver max but my RedMax ,ugly Stik, etc can perform the same function it's like the difference between Walmart shoes and Adidas I can still walk everywhere you walk lol
Brandon B. ReelKillerFishn yeah I have a Berkeley lighting rod and a Penn 2500(idr what model) and I cast as accurately and far as I could ask for 🤷🏼♂️ and it’s a medium so I get some really nice whip action when I flip under short cover
@@BrandonBReelKillerFishn Brandon i got me a ugly stix with a spinning reel with 10 pound zebco line and i cast so much easier and better and farther then a bait caster and with no problems granted that i use different baits from Zoom tequila sunrise and bubblegum to hot dogs and sausage so it depends some baits are best used with spinning wheel and some are best on bait caster it all depends the bait and type of species you want to catch and use is what it all comes down to really
@@KRDP definitely
@@BrandonBReelKillerFishn right exactly there are certain baits that work best on spinning wheels and certain baits that work on bait casters it all comes down to the bait you use i mean i use zoom or yum soft baits or i might use some lures like a greenish fire tiger or sometimes i might just wanna throw out hot dogs or maple sausage and catch a channel cat so a spinning wheel comes in handy for that it all depends on the bait and what you wanna catch if you wanna catch bass it depends on what bait youre using that determines if you want spinning wheel or bait caster
Hey, Norm, I've looked everywhere on my baitcast reel.. Where exactly are there any nozzles located?? Lmfao!! 😂
William Gillespie same guess we’ve got the wrong reels
Bait caster will be my favorite for power lures
Spinning for finesse
Georgia Bassmasters Yes sir I use both in the same way
Spiner for artificial baitcaster for catfishing
Still killing it man! Keep it up
You should definitely revisit this challenge! I love that you guys are all having a hard ass time with this
Spinning !!! All the way !!! I can cast into any pocket or wooded aera with my Shimano Quickfire 6\1 as well as any of my homeboys and their Bait Casters. And no backlash/birdsnest. The Quickfire allows for 1 handed casting as per a Baitcaster. It's just my personal preference. Keep up the good work Norm!!
Baitcaster ! Till I throw a birdsnest while slipping in the mud and hooking a tree! NARMY STRONG
Yes sirrr!!!
Baitcaster for bass spinning for panfish and catfish. I own about an even amount of baitcaster, spincaster and spinning reels.
I have same Lews caster & I love it! More challenging to learn but once you get the hang of it. It’s unbeatable & that rod is really forgiving & not super expensive!
I've got the same set-up and just love it
Norm deserves more subs!
MBD Bonanaboi for sure!!!!!
I mean 110k isn't peanuts lol but his content is dope
Absolutely!
Spinning combos up North important, not an understatement! Love my baitcasters but I always have a finesse spinning presentation ready.
Whats up with the 20 haters disliking the videos its always around 20 or 30 must be the same people. These are the best videos on RUclips. Big shoutout to Norm!!
Spinning combo is hands down the better combo.
Chill with the bangers norm👍🏼💥🐟
Asapfishing1 srrry I will slow down 😂
Thanks bro, can’t take it much longer bro😂
Norm and the squad are actually the best fishing you tubers
Ryan Wood thanks so much!
Before i got a baitcaster i hated using a spinning reel and was waiting for the day i got a baitcaster but once i got a baitcaster i started to apperciate spinning reels a lot more
I'll try a baitcaster once in a while but I grew up with a spinning reels so I'll stay with my roots where I stared
I’ve been waiting all day for you to post can’t wait to watch
Spinning is just as accurate. It’s just what you’re used to.
I LOVE Skeeter boats
I'm used to spinning reels baitcaster wat more accurate
You guys are fun to watch when u fish, the energy is great lmfao feels like me and my friends on the lake😂
Norm, Noah and LoJo are the best. Not to leave ADub out, he is just new to me but have subscribed so will be watching. Fun to watch you guys.
I got both but prefer spinning. I don’t do tournaments so speed fishing isn’t my strong game. Bait cast reels are the freestyle or trick flipping setups in my opinion.
I like that spinning tackle is more timeless. I have some vintage spinning reels and they are still slaying. If you were to go with a baitcaster from the same era you’d give up a lot of functionality.
Claim that baitcaster is more accurate than a spinning equals a claim that revolver is more precise than a pistol! It depends on the shooter and there are guys who are skipping spinning to the spots which baitcasters could only dream of!
SPINNIN' 4 LIFE BABEY 😂
you guys need to slow down when reeling a fish in 🤦♂️
Monx fr
and not chuck the rod too hard.
Ikr the fish skipping across the water
They do that so they can’t fight them and snap off
@@rg4jack2k63 they are practically reeling in bluegills...if they snap off it's because they are using 2 lbs line.
After buying a new baitcaster I have to admit, my spinning gear might start to collect dust lol. One thing I never considered was that when you lose line on a spinning reel, your casting distance will go down. You don't have that problem on a baitcaster because there's no spool resistance.
cast distance really doesn't matter with a boat tho.
Love you guys as Channel watch every single episode you guys put out you guys are great together tight lines
Larry Culiver tight lines!
Norms word of the day..or every day is..... HECKER! 🤣🤣
I bring one of each everywhere. One for heavy baits and one for light baits. Both fun, both good for different things. I like variety when I go fishing.
Thank you for doing this I have been waiting for someone to do this. Personally I love the spinning reel combos
Me to!
Watching 3 pro level fishermen strike out that many times on like 3 mins made my dad😂 love what are do I watch all you're videos
Spinning rod all the way 💯🤷🏽♂️
Dude just from the hookset in the intro I was like heck yeah Noah collab!
I've only recently started using a baitcaster. Still learning.
I love my bait caster just casting it and learning new ways to cast is entertaining as hell never been able to cast so far till I got mine
I’ve always been a spinning reel combo guy it’s easy to use and easy to tie on a line on the reel when your putting new line on the rod!!
So I went fishing with my friend today and he is subscribed to the gang also lol you Noah and lojo, we both secretly watch y'all and then pretend to be y'all when we get on the water. Ya I admit it I'm a fanboy , sue me😂😂😂
I may or may not do the same thing
The three of you together, is quality content for sure!
I been using a spinning for a while so then I started trying out with baitcaster it was a little difficult until I started getting use to it and I do like I smooth it caste out and when reel it in it like that to and so far I like the. Baitcast pole slot when. Bass fishing
6:30, Noah sounding like Buk Lau from owange pranks 🤣
Yeah I don't use a spinning combo to much I'm a baitcaster guy but it comes in handy
They both have thier places. I have caught alot more on spinning however as where we are is so pressured that finesse is key and the fairy wand is more practical in most finesse situations.
Spinning is cheaper and you get much more bang for your buck with spinning combos. And spinning is much more versatile than a bait caster.
favorite is Baitcaster but fun to skip under docks with spinning reel
Norm is the goat y’all should thank norm for giving stuff out
Love seeing bangers on the cannel
I have started to use my spinning combo less and less. I have an Eagle Claw rod and an Abu Garcia Silvermax 10 for my spinning combo and a Duckett Ghost and Lews MS1SH for my casting combo. There is a tremendous difference in the quality between the two combos. I actually paid near the same for the two reels, thanks to clearance sales. I bought the Abu at retail $30, and the Lews for 35$ on clearance(retail 100$ at that time). Really, the clearance is the only reason I even got a casting combo. I had a friend's dad get one a few years back and he couldn't figure it out, that left me with a bad taste for it. I figured since it was a nice reel for cheap that I would give it a shot. I would not say I have a single regret. I paid only 25$ for the Ghost rod(100$ retail) on clearance as well. I will be honest and say that I would not pay even today's retail for my casting combo, it'd be 180-200. I just don't have that kind of money to spend on anything, let alone a fishing combo. I'm not sure if getting a better rod would make my spinning experience better, but I have a cheaper Eagle Claw casting rod that I refuse to use now that I have tried the Ghost.
I grew up on using spinning reels and it helps whenever I go saltwater fishing. I was flats fishing when my friend who was using a baitcaster hooked onto a 20+ pound redfish and it took him 20 minutes to get it to the boat. I got about the same size fish using a 4000 size shimano stradic and it took me 5 minutes or so. He told me I'm going to stick to bass.
Great challenge idea, looked like a good time. I wish I had friends like this to fish with.
For real man. Ive got one buddy thats in to fishing as much as i am and we both work so much we go together like once a month
I like baitcasters they are fun, but they flat out suck for really light rigs like just a hook and nightcrawler while creek fishing. But a spinning rod is great for light rigs or heavy, and can do everything a baitcaster can, but more importantly can do everything a they can't. If I had to pick only one, spinning setup no question! But for heavier lure bass fishing I like baitcasters 😎
Baitcaster+Senko=Norm Slayfest
I personally love spinning reals as i feel like j can throw any lure with it
Long live your Math Rap!
Bring back the math rap!!!
Norms Channel is definitely underrated more people need to show this man some love
Can’t stand when people think certain baits are meant for a certain rods and reels. I’ve been just as successful catching fish using whatever bait on both. Caught plenty of bass frogging with a spinning combo 😂 CATCHING A FISH WITH A SPINNING COMBO?! WHO WOULDA THUNK?! Lmao. There’s really no rules saying you gotta throw said bait on said rod and reel. Unless it’s suuuuper weightless finesse shit obviously.
This place is amazing Congratulations beautiful FISHING! I remember a lot where I fish here in *Brazil.*
Hug!!!👍
Those “Noooooooo” from norm are to funny lol
Love spinning reel better!
Not sure if this video proved anything other than showing your favoritism of baitcasters.
When you said turn of your notifications I got a notification that said Kick their bass tv posted a new video. 😂
Cap
Great video Norm👍! You guys caught some slauber donkeys out there😂
I know right 😂

Please Do a video on KVD mystery tackle box!that would be cool!
I have always fished with spinning reels and I really want to get a baitcaster soon :)
Spinning all day long
Subscribed to all three of y'all
Hey fishing with norm I like your videos keep the good work 👍🏻
One of the best channels ever
Luke do you like the mach 2 or crush baitcaster better? I have the mach 2 but debating on get the crush
Chad West I like both, haven’t used the crush much tho
@@FishingWithNorm ok thanks for the fast response. Tight lines and keep up the great videos
Keep the awesome videos coming def proud to be a member of the Narmy!!
you guys are just having so much fun
I have both but catch more fish on my spinning
Bait caster is hard to use, but better for full on pro fishing. Bell rods are more user friendly. Though bell rods with snap off more line because it has almost no drag.
Really enjoyed this video !
I am an asian angler. in my country, Malaysia. we use spinning combo for a light rock fishing. i go with 1-4lb rod with a berkley fireline 4lb and a 15lb fluorocarbon and i’ll throw a 5g micro jig. i use a baitcaster when snakehead fishing because i wanna easier and accurate cast to a strike zone. also my bc reel ratio is 7, so i can use it for a frog fishing. my setup is daiwa tatula tw, sufix 832 10lb, and fluorocarbon 12lb. i usually enjoy all my game and setup
I like when y’all calab with kickentheirbass tv and adub fishing
Spinning reels are easier to use and yet I can use a bait caster better.😂
I have love for both of them but man there's nothing like a good ole bait caster!
Love your channel!! Keep it up! Dawg
I thoroughly enjoyed that video and I laughed my ass off when all three of you were together especially with lo- jo! Personally I prefer a spinning combo but I also have a baitcaster
Awesome vid as always
I’m more accurate with a spinning rod
Yes I already refunded my bait caster spinning reel 4 life
@@yeethumper3500 same bro
@@yeethumper3500 can’t catch big fish on a bait caster
@@yeethumper3500 itlll break lol

Favorite RUclipsrs ktbtv, norm, Lojo ,#the squad love your videos keep up the good work
I use a bait caster for top water, bottom fishing, jigs, chatter baits. I use a spinner for weightless texas rigs, whacky rigs. I like the natural fall of weightless worms. If I had to pick one of the other. I'll go with bait caster.
I think I speak for every experienced angler when I say they both serve a purpose. I have super expensive baitcasters and spinning setups so it's hard to choooooooose lol I love all things fishing
What’s the purpose of each. I have 6 spinning reels. I buy them after debating on getting a bc but can’t justify one when spinning reels are just better when I compare them. Spinning reel has less problems and easier to fix line, or broken parts. Simpler is better in my opinion.
I can’t say I have a favourite there’s a time and a place for both
I use both.. spinning for finesse .. and bait caster for everything else
pimpshack81 that’s the best way to put it
I use both
love all three of your guys vids subscribed to all of three of you. trying to start my own youtube fishing channel , wondering if you guys can make more vids about a beginner fisherman.
You should do a blind folded fishing challenge with kickin there bass
Well I just made a crazy move and got that orange 'Crush' bait caster and now I find myself watching this and see you guys are crazy for it. I'm learning to not bird nest it unlike my spinning setup lol thanks for this totally awesome vid.
Great video & sweet combo’s! Love your vids my man! Keep up the amazing work Norm and can’t wait for the next banger video my man! 🐟🎣
Watch out here comes Norm the Storm
