Read my comment if you want all test results to date in order of performance.
I was bored today, so I tallied up MACs testing results to date. The names are in order of fewest issues to most for the elemental test. If a tie occurred, the number of gauntlet test issues determined the order. If testing was stopped, I counted up the number of un-fired shots and counted those as issues. I also divided by tiers to put things in a pragmatic perspective. Enjoy.
Flawless Tier (0 Elemental Test Issues):
Rex Zero 1
Archon Type B
H&K USP45
S&W M&P 2.0
FN FiveSeven
CZP10C
Glock 17
Walther PPQ M2
Beretta APX
Excellent Tier (1 Easily Remedied Elemental Test Issue) :
CZ P07
Beretta M9A1
Remington RP9
Beretta Px4 Storm
'Good Enough' Tier (2 Elemental Test Issues) :
Sig Sauer Mk25
Hi-Point C9
Century Arms Canik TP9 SF
Disappointing (3+ Elemental Test Issues)
H&K VP9 [standard spring]
S&W M&P
Sig Sauer P320 Compact
Colt 1911
Sig P226 Legion
H&K VP9 [heavier spring]
FN 509
This is awesome, thanks.
😂🤣😅 high point was as good as a mk25. Seals need to make the big switch to hk usp45 or glock. Or high point... hahaha
Nice
god tier: you
The glock 17 had several failures during the gauntlet though
Weigh your ingredients... the dirt and water before mixing, and use the same every time.
should be fairly close to the same total amount with the dirt, and the water will always weigh the same. (or just use a set volume of water every time)
Should make your mud test more consistent between tests.
TFL represent.
I'd say use volume for both, not just water. It's the mass of the dirt that determines the "soupiness", not the weight. Either way is probably good enough, but I think volume would be better.
I was going to suggest this as well. Document the mud recipe.
+Bjørnar Magnussen Volume is actually a horrible way of getting consistency with loose ingredients like dirt. (or flour, or sugar, or cereal) It's why industrially packed loose goods are given as weights with the disclaimer "contents may settle".
Depending on how tightly you pack the dirt into the measuring container, you can get vastly different amounts of actual stuff inside the container based on volume alone.
And most mass measurements are based on weighing, here on earth anyway... Though true mass can be calculated in several ways, on the earth's surface, the relative consistent pull of gravity allows for easy mass measurements.
And while dirt is a variable substance by its nature, and has no reliable specific density from sample to sample.
Weighing will give reasonably close ratio from batch to batch, provided you use the same type of soil each time. IE, bagged top soil vs digging it up from a field.
marine6680 Man, I didn't even think of that! My thoughts behind it was that dirt easily attracts water, so the humidity would change the weight. Also dirt from different places with different content (small rocks and such) would further deviate for each batch.
I guess either way it's not 100% accurate, but like I said I think both methods will be more than fine!
Thanks for the explanation though, I had no idea about the "contents may settle" and stuff, I've never noticed that.
it's probably been mentioned but Sig added a stronger Striker spring to correct the light primer strikes
When? I may need to replace my striker.
Fred J3 striker spring is not the reason for malfunctions, the trigger having too much mass and no safety was. Companies like Glock, CZ, FN, etc put 2-piece triggers on their guns so that the trigger’s own inertia won’t pull itself in case you drop it, it’ll be stopped by that safety
Fred J3 Also, they’ve long fixed that problem with the newer models having their new triggers out of the factory. They sent the upgrade package to the military as well.
Fred J3 it doesn’t matter how much tension there is, it’s physically impossible to fire unless the trigger is pulled due to a striker drop block safety inside the gun lol. That’s why the only two parts they replaced on the gun were the trigger shoe and striker, both of which were decreased in weight by over 20% for reasons aforementioned
Fred J3 No I work as an armorer so I know how a modern handgun works. The only way for the drop block safety and sear to move is by pulling the trigger. If the trigger is too heavy and pulls, than obviously the gun can fire. If you never pull the trigger and keep it static, how do you expect the striker block to move???
Just bought sig sauer p320 compact and shot 100 rds with Fiocchi 124 grain NATO ball. No light strikes or any issues whatsoever. Thanks for great videos.
10:53 "im really impressed with the performance of this little pistol so far"
11:01 "click"
I realize this video's 4 years old, but having recently taken the Sig Armorer's course on the Military's M17/M18 version... I would love to see a revisit on this test?
The newer versions (both P320 and M17/18) have a stronger striker spring, and slots in the striker's "plunger" to alleviate hydro-locking under wet/muddy conditions.
Me too! I’d like to see this redone with one of the newer ones, especially either an M17 or the new X series 320’s. I think they’d do MUCH better.

+1
Now if Sig can do something about those holstered accidental discharges.
it failed, get over it.
I had a light primer strike the second round I shot. Cleared the round and finished out the mag. Every round since has been flawless. I love this pistol. Great video as always too.
You should seriously do a hi-point and see how well it fairs
Arent Hipoints surprisingly reliable?
+Finch not from what I have seen from videos, a lot of failed extractions
haha keltec sub2000 as well
I would be curious about some of less expensive guns. Sccy, Canik, hipoint, Taurus. Just neat to have the benchmark.
I would be interested to see how a Hi Point does as well, just for giggles. Also the SCCY.
Our experiences with the 320 has so far been stellar. We were not able to put it through the ringer like you have but plenty of our students, especially those in handgun familiarization classes, have picked it up and shot it well quite quickly. We're glad to see it performs decently in the field as well! Cheers.
advantage of 320C is that after 10mins and 5 shots people who never shooted in their life will hit a center (10cm ring) in target at 10m (11yards) of distance...it is very easy to hit the target with this gun ( and also accurate for all instinctive shooting trials)...
The following is from the Sig 320 Manual. (also from other striker fired pistol manufacturers)
!WARNING!
DO NOT LUBRICATE
THE STRIKER OR ALLOW
LUBRICANT TO FLOW
INTO THE STRIKER
CHANNEL OF THE SLIDE.
Too many folks don't know this and they should. It's old habits and the logic of "if a little lube is good, a lot of lube must be better"
Why does lubricant mess up the striker fired pistols?
@@jps3b it doesn't break them or anything.
But it turns the striker into a shock absorber. It won't hit the primer hard enough to fire the cartridge.
JPS 3B the striker runs through a small diameter channel. Anything including water in the channel can hydro-lock the striker and cause it to not strike the primer hard enough. Plus just a little oil in the channel liner (what Glock calls the part) can attract dust which will also slow down the striker and also cause light strikes
Weeeeeaaaaaak
Never thought I’d get the choice of mud when I drop my gun. Awesome
I love that scraping sound of pulling the slide and inserting/removing magazines... It's such a calm sound...
The only thing I can say is do a glock, 1911 and a beretta for a "standard" or control test. That is 3 guns most everyone will be familiar with
I'd throw in the CZ 75 as well.
+crambone t here we go another one of these guys. I threw mine in the black dirt at my farm. No problems. Did it multiple times. I'll maybe record a video sometime for you. Or Mac can just do the test here and show it's really not that bad.
+crambone t
Are you basing this assertion on a personal test of one? Or simply repeating something you've heard?
+Michael Rat cz's are junk. telling you right now.
JettyDeke : I agree. I know I would like to see a Beretta 92/M9 put through the same paces as the other pistols.
The manual suggests an initial cleaning before firing and warns not to lubricate the striker or allow lube to flow into the striker channel. Might have something to do with your light primer strikes.
I'd like to see the HK P30 and P30 SK go through these tests.
MIO PHX me too
You should do a glock 19 or 17 as a benchmark since it's probably the most common carry gun. Great video MAC keep up the great content
A repeat test of the VP9 would be awesome too.
+twostangs81 the VP9 totally shit the bed.
hence "repeat test"
+twostangs81 why would you want to repeat that dismal failure? The previous test method was more "realistic" in my view.
because why not? he already said in another comment section he is going to do it anyway
The compatibility of the test suffers a bit due to the lack of standardization for the mud, but I really enjoy the serie so please keep them coming, I'm especially looking forward to see how M9 and Glock17 service pistols perform back to back.
We will work the mud aspect out. It's a work in progress.
To be fair mud all over the world don't follow a standard quality ;)
ig33ku True, but the idea is to have the mud as a constant in the test, which will allow you to compare it to other weapons put through the same test. If the mud is not the same, or standardized, then you cant compare results across different tests.
112 224 448 With very few exceptions most guns will be able to fire about 2 to 3 rounds with whatever kind of mud in it. Otherwise it won't fire at all.
So if your firearm falls in the mud expect either a click or 2 bangs at most.
By cleaning the gun off in the same water you increase the intrusion of small particulates into the internals. What I mean is that once you have that soupy brown water it will carry with it little pieces of dirt, rock, etc into the striker column or between the rails.
I don't necessarily think you should change anything, but it is probably important to remember that this is making the test progressively more difficult.
That’s the point...
500 rounds ran thru mine soon as I got it. flawlessly with no issues
Pretty sure it was an ammo issue. Those were deep primer strikes
Wow, I am quite intrigued by all the light strikes you are having. I purchased a P320 recently, and I am now watching as many reviews as I can whilst waiting for my licence to be approved. We have quite an onerous licensing system in South Africa, which in some cases take as long as 7-8 months for a license approval. I did have a chance to shoot my pistol at the dealer's indoor range under supervision, and all went well, except for two failures to extract, but I would rather have blamed that on cheap and underpowered "range ammo".
Really like your stuff MAC, even if some of the stuff you do is stuff we can only dream of in SA, that just makes it more interesting to watch your content! Keep up the good work!
Also thinking of getting the P320
Don't trust it all dude, when they are new they sometimes have extractor issues. It may be your grip. My dad had the same extractor problem with his, but it now works without fail every single shot, every single ammo type, every single time.
This is a old comment, but I am just getting some info. I also live in South Africa and was looking at the CZ P07 or the Sig P320. Have you shot both or is there any regret with the P320? I can get both for the same price, so it comes down to reliability and ergonomics
Love to see how the military tested them.
yup precisely why the USP wasn't selected back in the day. Cost. (it would still be relevant today and wouldn't need a replacement - the USP is still superior to the P320)
they really didn't much
Imagine if the military had filmed the XM9 and XM17 testing... not like they’d show us but still be nice to watch
@@johndoee4511
My thoughts exactly. However it has been amazing for border patrol and N S A
@@johndoee4511 not
to get your mud "right every time" I would just suggest exact measurements like cooking. pay attention to how much dirt to water mixture you use to get the right consistency. Just food for thought!
I definitely love that you've "standardized" your testing methods using the tupaware containers. as opposed to your old videos of just wondering around to see what you can throw them in! Great job!
Yeah, that's what we're going to have to do. I was hoping to reuse the stuff because I put it in a sealed container, but that's not enough to keep it from slowly drying out. So I had to add more water... and I added too much. Even using equal parts will vary as the consistency of the soil will vary. It has dirt, clay, sand, etc. in it.. even sticks and rocks.
+Military Arms Channel that's true. what about something like potting soil? I think the consistency of that would have very little "sway". But I know what you mean, just digging up dirt from 20ft away from the previous location can change the outcome.
The mosquitos flying around the lens had me crazy...hahaha
"We're starting to have some problems,Guys" I love that part
I'm enjoying these videos. I know you stress that this test is not scientific and a sample size of one is not indicative of the performance of every gun of that model but it does serve valuable data for people who cannot do this type of testing and gives us an idea of what to expect from a reliability stand point. Awesome job and great vid. You should start a data sheet of which guns pass and with what grade. 5 star system? That'd be pretty cool to see and have a visual of how each gun ranked in comparison.
Rex zero passed with 5 stars for sure
Fuck yea, lol. I'd like to see an m9 torture test!!!
yes. I would like to see an M9 vs Glock 17.
I want to see how that m9 would do in the mud with that open slide being a ingress and egress location
+Robert Pavelea +1 for the M&P and the M9A3!
***** I totally agree with you brother! I wanna see either another video or reliability test with the A3 from MAC!
+Robert Pavelea I think the price increase is for a few reasons...
All metal parts (but for the guide rod) as they switched to many polymer pieces a while back. Safety, trigger, and some others.
They are not using the standard M9/92 parts... the Vertex frame models already cost more than the standard ones do. The slide is also different... meaning a dedicated run must be made just for this model.
They come with trijicon night sights.
The military is not adopting it, meaning no contract extension to cover costs of the redesign... so they are passing the R&D costs into the consumer price. Also the inability to piggy back production on the military line.
Can't wait to see the listing for this P320 on Gun Broker...lightly used, only 200 rounds down the pipe, cleaned after each range trip!
I always enjoyed SAMs reviews on range time. Glad he's part of mac now.
When you tested the M&P 2.0 it outperformed the P320 big time but yet you had very little good to say about the gun you seem to praise the P320 with all its failures seems as if there's a little bias on your part 2 Smith & Wesson
I felt this way too....
He lubricated the stricken which cause light primer strikes, sig also took note and added a stronger striker spring, also the m&p feels like shit when shooting it lol
Gabe Castillo that’s not really a credible statement about any quality modern striker fire pistol. There’s a reason they’re popular among professionals. I mean, yeah I’ve had better shooting stock guns but, feels like shit? That’s a fluke or you
At the end of the day why would we be any more loyal about this than the Lowe’s vs Home Depot brand hammers? It’s a tool
But yeah Gary absolutely feeling some bias here. To MACs credit the man does post the full performance even if he seems to be making excuses for the weapon, we can see for ourselves an accurate assessment
Not fair that you added towards the end. YOU FUCKED UP THE TEST BRO.
I know I'm late to the game, but this had 3 failures in the elemental test, and was deemed impressive. The M9A1 had 1 failure in the elemental test, and was disappointing.
The Arex has set the bar so high it will probably never be reached again. I carry the p320c sometimes and love it. Is there a stronger striker spring available from anywhere? I can't wait to see the Cz p01 and Walther ppq. Good job guys and keep them coming
I'm willing to bet the p01 and ppq prove also to be impressive during this test.
you did this type of review earlier. i bought one and have several variations, and have had no problems
You guys did so much different on this pistol. Like you wanted it to pass. You let it soak in the water while reloading the mags. Then while doing the gauntlet you didn't bury the gun like you do others.
Would like to see this test repeated side by side w a G19, M&P, Beretta 92 ... just to have some reference
I am a fan of your videos, (I am a retired U.S.Army Combat vet) but the U.S. Army already put this gun through complete tests.
Not impressed at all. there's something wrong with those models because of the light river strikes. send it back. Let them fix it and test it again.
I'm just learning of that. Googling it seems to yield a large number of people with similar problems.
+Military Arms Channel yet you still gave this gun a pass it seems.....
Mine has not had any issues, even with ammo said to have hard primers.
It is also an early model, I got it about a week after release.
+Blaze it did pass the test of dunking it in the water, sand, mud, etc. The only problem was the light primer strikes which is the gun having problems on its own.
+Military Arms Channel Had my Compact since May 2016 and the Subcompact in June. Got the Subcompact because for $100 more, I got another gun. No issues with either one. I have even updated the slide stop and takedown lever, neither of which would cause light primer strikes.
Ohhh DANG IT! - I dropped my ham sandwich into my pistol again!
I know these are a few years old but I love watching these videos. And i wish you’d make more of them and revisit some.
"Please don't sue me SIG! "
All through out the Video.
It seemed like there was some fan boy things going on here. You were "impressed" as soon as it fired... Even when it failed. Lol
He does that with guns he likes
Exactly my opinion. This review is utter bullshit, totally biased.
I agree with you the gun didn't do good
Glock gen 5 is number 1
If you have watched any of these he is not a huge fan of sig really he has said so many times there quality controls issues have been awful and that he went threw four or so 365 dogs before he found one that worked and didn’t break on him
Its been a bit over a year now and I believe they fixed some of the light primer strike problems. When I fired it I put probably 150 rounds through it and I didn't have any problems.
I think the light primer strikes might just be that gun in specific. My p320 compact has had at least 1000 rounds put through it and has never had a light primer strike
I had one failure to fire in the first 10 rounds through a brand new P320, but it’s was fine for the other 100 or so I put through it on the range that day.
MORE TESTS MAC THESE TESTS ARE AWESOME. MORE MORE MORE
Given the overwhelmingly positive response, we will be doing this regularly, like monthly at a minimum.
I agree with this comment, you'll be the Tnoutdoors9 of dunking things in mud until they break.
If I could offer a recommendation. With soft primer hits, leave the gun muzzle pointed down range for a minute just incase the primer decides to ignite late and fires the cartridge. Then eject, reload and attempt to fire the cartridge normally. Good video.
I'd love to see the M&P, GLOCK, and XD be put through these test.
What's the point? The XD would smash 😂
m&p and Glock will probably pass couple of failures between the two. the XD is going to fail miserably
+1 for M&P, XD, Glock and FN. Then a separate video for Walther PPQ vs HK VP9.
+Rodrigo Lopez
I agree.
+Derrick S. Tran
Based on what? The XD actually has a stronger striker spring and a heavier striker. And a stiffer recoil spring.
Are you planning on running the VP9 through this new test? I think a bunch of people would love to see that video!
Yup.
+Military Arms Channel good to hear...preferably with a different VP9 vs the one you ran over with the jeep amongst other things....
Very curious on that one too.
+Military Arms Channel thanks for being willing to go back and develop consistent benchmarks.
Did you watch his test of vp9 vs the canik? the $350 canik smoked the vp9, it was great.
light primer strike right out the box should tell you everything you should know about sig guns
Yep!
how about a cz 75/your carry gun/p09/p07 ?
yessss
P-01
P07
yess yessss p07 for shurreeee
Just picked up a po7 ! would love to see it pushed !!!!!!!
Just a suggestion: in order to get the same consistency for subsequent tests for the mud, maybe you can measure the amount of soil and water used. So, for instance, if you had a particular bucket, you could use one or two leveled buckets (don't pour it until it heaps over the edges) of top soil to three or so buckets of water. Whatever mixture provides the right consistency, you'll be able to repeat for future experiments. I actually like the consistency of the mud in this video--I think you should repeat it for all tests.
Agreed each test mud was not consistent and some tested mud was way thicker. Not fair testings. For the Arex mud was very watery.
i own a Sig P320 9mm and I LOVE IT! i wouldn't trade anything for it
Thanks for the info, guys. I watched this as part of my research for my next pistol. The Sig P320 is looking like my top contender.
Soft primer strikes are one reason why I like my handguns to have sa/da with a hammer. Fails to fire, just pull the trigger again.
Doesn't the ppq have that in a striker? The p99 does
No, FTF requires tap, rack, reassess. If a round does not fire, you do not try to fire it again, you GET RID OF IT. You probably don't have the experience to post on this subject. Probably shot some guns at an indoor range and want to post your "experience"
If it fails to fire you should immediately eject it.
You must be a navy seal, right ?
+Kalash Strelok should you? what if it's a hang fire?
I own a full size p320 9mm. I love it, I carry it. only had this peice for 5 months and have fired a little over 5000 rounds through it and not a single failure yet, knock on wood, and went 2000 rounds between cleaning, still no failures. shooting federal and blazer brass . I would say that it's a really great gun, I have fired several other makes and none in my opinion stack up to the p320. so far out of all the firearms I've experienced, this is my favorite. though I very much enjoy the desert eagle, it's not as practical as the p320.
I know this is an old video, but I would love to see the M17/18 go through the Gauntlet. Pretty much the same gun but, it's the US military wepon...
I would like to see the VP9 done again with this test.
Just approved for the CA roster! One of the LGSs is taking Pre release orders. In the first week the total chain of the stores took 2000+ orders. One of them (P320 M18) is mine 🙂
Interesting how “impressed” you kept saying that you were with this gun yet the Walther you didn’t seem nearly as “impressed” during the testing of that gun, yet it seemed to have much less failures and issues. Maybe a little pre-test bias? 🤔
You're obviously biased for the Walther. Well I agree 💯
I love that Mac does these tests, but having watched many of them, I agree. The Walther PPQ seemed to do really well, much much better than the 320, but Mac almost seemed to be a little down on the Walther. The 320 did very poorly IMHO
Well the 320 is now the replacement for the Beretta M9...so we will see how the fullsize ones do in the field.
This is a good thing. The Army will notify SIG if any complaints and they'll have to address them, plus they'll have the money to do so. I expect future production models after the adoption by the military to have all the kinks worked out and function outstandingly well.
I expect Glock will challenge this, similar to how S&W challenged last time when Beretta won the contract. Glock has a decent case given how many special operations groups in the U.S. military have switched over to their products in the past year and change.
But it's not as modular. Wasn't that a big part of their decision?
Companies shouldn't just file lawsuits every time their product doesn't get picked over a competitor. The Army gets to pick and use whatever they damn well please, and just because they decided that they liked a competitor's product isn't a justification for getting butthurt and hiring lawyers to force the Army waste their time and American tax dollars defending their decisions.
Rant not directed at you in particular. I just think that it's a big problem that we tolerate defense contractors filing lawsuits whenever uncle sam decides not to buy their stuff.
Hardcore American, I think the Army also wanted a manual safety.
Whew.... I'm so glad MAC made it through this video.
I was scared that mud and all would make him DROP IT
the primers I saw looked like they had a significant dimple on them, are you sure it's not the ammo?
I have had issues with freedom ammo and fiochi having heavy primers even with a glock that usually eats everything
Guarantee its the ammo!
lubed strikers act like shock absorber
@@CodyBi yea and this idiot sprayed a big old shot of lube right in there. That’s rule number one. Don’t do that.
I'm not losing my Walthers, but I want to get one of these Sigs!
Chris Blake I agree. Only I don't want to sell my M&P or my glock to afford it. lol
The M2 PPQ performed better then this. Mud was soupy yes, but I'm not sold on it after a few light primer strikes.
Sigs sucks
MoparJon don’t be hatin because you can’t afford them !
Owning my 320 for 2+ yrs i'd like to see a redo on the gauntlet for the 320 (2021) , as some other commenters i'm kinda worried, with that said i dont think my 320 will go through that kind if torture, i've put 200rnds without cleaning & it goes bang everytime , thank you Lord, keep yp the good work Sir, i havent seen a gauntlet test in a while ?
Been finding a lot of light primer strikes. 10 customers so far have sent their pistols back to sig for that.
John Doe piece of shit? Lol pretty sure the army wouldn't have a $580 million dollar contract if it is a piece of shit
John Doe This is Sig's first shot at a striker fired pistol. There is a stark difference between early model problems and a pistol being shit. Alot of people love these guns and over the next few years they will do nothing but improve them and they will have a growing aftermarket support since the Army adopted it. Some people are butt hurt that they didn't pick a Glock but a Glock isn't for everyone. Some people call Glocks shit due to design, shitty ergos for left handed shooters and bad stock triggers. They are damn reliable though and I'm sure the p320 will be soon. Adding maritime seals to the striker and a stronger spring will stop the light primer strikes even when wet and that will probably be standard to the new models. The Army is all about saving money but only to a certain point and I gauruntee the Sig's are no cheaper than a Glock. They must've picked it for some reason.
3 years worth of army testing is a lot longer than someone's backyard "reliability test" for starters lol
Turtle well said
Remember they also chose ACP as a cammo pattern after "extensive testing" and that stuff was absolute garbage
I know you're not a revolver guy, but could you test one?
It won't be pretty
I actually would really like to see that. Not many people do these sort of tests with revolvers.
+LinkHyrule03 because the action will lock up fairly easily.
Hawkeye
But would it? Most revolvers have their internals pretty well sealed off, save for the cylinder and barrel themselves.
I'm not saying one way or the other, I just want to see the data. I'm not even a revolver guy at all, I just want to see how they fare.
+LinkHyrule03 Revolvers are extremely complicated compared to semi autos. You can simply dunk an auto to fix it. Not always the case with a revolver. It won't pass the sand test. I know several instructors who have seen it. I've tested a ruger and Taurus. The cylinder just gets stuck. Its probably even dangerous. I regret not recording it but maybe I should do this same test. People think revolvers sre reliable but they are not as combat weapons. If you're just going to mcdonalds snd walmsrt im sure you're fine. I think james yeager did a video on this. Maybe yankee Marshal too.
Got the chance to shoot a SIG like this one a while back and it wasn’t really my cup of tea, but I can respect the hell out of their reliability
What reliability lol
I'm curious to see how the VP9 would perform with your new testing method. Please retest the VP9
We all want it....... Glock vs M&P
Glock vs M&P vs XD.
Don't bother he always ignores that request. Makes me wonder!
he is a glock guy that's why he tries to make sig look like shit glock gets water in it wont fire unless u buy maritime cups
Jason Spears really? he tries to make it look like shit but in the end he gives the gun a thumbs up?...sounds like u just dislike him and come to his vids to talk shit
Jason Spears false, they feed and fire underwater unless theyre fired upside down
I'm Chinese , I not only love guns but also enjoy your video , thank you : )
MAC you gotta do this test on a glock 19 everyone sees the glock as the standard in striker fired guns.. I know everyone has done it but you should use the glock as your standard in this exact test
I think his standard is the Rex!!!
+Perry Hughes like I said.. striker fired handguns
I would agree. glock19 is a must. I would love to see a canik tp9sf as well, see how the $350 anomaly gun fairs
There are literally thousands of Glock torture test online. Thousands of test, with thousands of guns. Glock is already proven.
+Trevor Hollibaugh that's not the point the point is for it to be in macs testing
I wonder if, 4 years later, he's only concerned about light primer strikes, not the 5 times the gun failed to go into battery (and multiple times it failed to reset the striker). A light primer strike is a spring fix, failure to go into battery/failure to reset striker is a larger mechanical issue. But Sig fanboy it up, I guess.
On the light striker failed shots you don't have 2nd strike capability but you could drop it. I am sure it would fire then.
I thought you were not supposed to spray cleaning oil directly into the trigger housing/components? CLP is no better than the PAM you put on your cook wear.
Patrick Jacob you're right,it clearly states in the instructions manual no lube in striker channel, water ,oil not a good mix.
I use Freedom Munitons ammo for plinking. I had issues with "light strikes". I got an email from them stating they was an issue with there ammo, and offered a replacement. Who knows..
They must get their primers from the same place Underwood gets theirs. Had a lot of issues with hard primers from Underwood ammo, different calibers.
MAC I own 7 SIG P 320's...2 c 9mm, 2 sc 9mm, 1 sc 40 1 sc 45 and 1 x five legion and ever weapon has soft primer when using Fiocchii ammo but none with other manufacturer. I settled on Magtech for all hard ball when practicing and Federal HST in 9MM, 40 & 45 caliber for self defense Great Tesr
Sig P250 Hammer fire with a second strike capability.
The first dunk in sludge (not mud) may have skewed all results after....
Id love to see the sig mk25 vs Glock 19 vs Sig 320 done at the same time with same sand and mud back to back to back with no editing. It would be easy to do. And do best of 3 series. Factory 124 grain ball ammo. Then we will have a true non biased winner. That way if the mud is too soupy, its going to be same for all 3. Id pay good money to see it
definite do over for vp9
the 320 had problems with muddy soupy water
mac retest vp9
Warning - following comment contains significant amounts of butthurt.
Tim! When you did the M&P test, you pretty much wrote it off! All b/c of a hydrolocking issue that nobody else has been able to replicate! The P320 showed multiple light primer strikes (one on test fire), and failed to go into battery in the mud every time!!! Yet you say it's "really impressing me" and "showing a lot of promise". What gives man!?!
Bias.
Haha the MP failed immediately on the first shot and in the dirt youre just angry cause you bought the wrong gun
I bought my 1st 320 In 2016 had a few light primer strikes and traded it off. I am on my 2nd 320 and had 1 light primer strike but have not had one since then. I have a couple thousand rounds through it now. I think it is a keeper.
"Baseline" test with the G19 Gen 4 please.
I'm liking the 320. Definitely a prospect for purchase.
as long as you dont get it muddy or wet or sandy
sergio uvalli it only failed in mud...
TwoHeavens yeah there you go you dumb fuck go ahead and get this piece of shit and then when you do you're going to get on RUclips and bitch about how big of a piece of shit it is so go ahead and get it you dumb fuck
Braxton Miller ??
@MrSalty I think that guy should have your handle instead.
It's good that it's pretty decent in these tests - the P320 has been selected as the new Army sidearm. I'll be interested to see if the other branches reach the same conclusions.
The M&P 2.0 cleaned this guns clock in these tests and didn't get as much acclaim.
should have changed ammo freedom ammunitions are reloads so shoot some factory ammo and see if you get light primer strikes
Two problems with your comment. 1) I'm shooting Fiocchi ammo, not Freedom in the tests. 2) Not all Freedom are reloads, they also offer new manufacture. If you're inquiring about the cut open box I'm loading from, well, that's what it is -- a cut open box used for a dump box to speed up loading. The ammo sitting loosely in the box is Fiocchi.
+Military Arms Channel ok so if you werent using the FM why even have it out and although the may sell new ammo you did not say if it was new or reloads.
I've heard Fiocchi primers are generally harder to ignite. Every gun guy I've talked to says use American ammo because of that reason.
He explained why he had the FM out, he used it to run 200 rounds through the gun as a break in period before the test. You need to pay more attention before calling him out :)
winehead99 i've had light strikes with the fiocchie plenty of times, freedom sells reloads and new manufactured ammo, they offer match, standard loads, and reloads. I shot over 8,000 of the reloads with no issue. Never handle the 320 that's just my experience with ammunition.
The mud is a tuff test. I think it's still impressive that all you had to do is rinse the mud off the gun with water and it functioned.
how are you "really impressed" by a gun that couldn't even do the first basic stage of testing, let alone the gauntlet
you didnt even cover the gun with debris like you do every other gun
He lubricated the stricken which cause light primer strikes, sig also took note and added a stronger striker spring
Exactly. Sig seems to have fixed this, and remember Glock Gen4 9s required a simple recoil spring update to fix their problems, but this version failed miserably and the praise here is just...weird to see
yay its the armys new sidearm
Steven Wirgau
I am so excited too!!!!
ggyy311 it meens more product for our sigs in the aftermarket world
Steven Wirgau Navy and Marine as well
It's also shooting people who drop it, making the term "guns don't kill people, people kill people" not entirely true ;)
@Steven Wirgau - And it's also having failures costing American tax payers a lot of money to fix, yayyyyy!!!
I have run about 2000 rounds through my p320 9mm full size and have never experience any type of failure to fire, light strike or stovepipe. Have run almost all Freedom munitions through it.
M&P 9 next????
yep...M&p mac!
YES PLEASE
Shield as well
Do you always eject light primer/delayed rounds at your feet? Shoot enough and you may regret that.
I've actually locked my sig to the rear, dumped some gravel in it, sent the slide home and fired it, 3 tests and only 1 failure to go into battery. I have the videos and I'll send them to you
Please test that new CZ P-10 C. I'm curious.
cz is my fav company. he said he would do it in the spring.
It did very well. Only complant I have is the back plate slides down causing the pistol not to go into battery.
Mike Adams think that’s fixed now
Did the Army watch this and make their decision? ;)
Military tests are acutally way more brutal than this.
+Seeker HUN Exactly. they know the firearm will fail eventually, they need to know what makes it fail and how easy it is to get it back into action.
Tshering Tamang the USP passed with 1 failure (I think it was only 1)
@Mexico City - Sig offered a contract to the Army about 100 million dollars less than Glock, that's how Sig beat out Glock. Sig wasn't the better pistol, just the cheaper one. But now the Army is reporting failures with the new Sig and it's costing us American tax payers money out of our own pocket to fix. Sig should be sued into fixing all their Army contract Sig P320-M17, why should us civilians pay to fix Sig's fuck up and for an Army pistol? Had the Army issued the Glock, our soldiers would have a reliable, safer pistol that shoots in tough conditions....and us tax payers wouldn't be robbed of our money.
The Dark Knight Sig contract was $100 million cheaper than the Glock contract.
I have become addicted to my P320 .357 SIG. What a blast to shoot! I just ordered the .40 barrel for it as well.
"Pretty impressive performance from this gun!" Constant light primer strikes, many fails to go into battery. Completely dead towards at the end of gauntlet. 100% failed in my opinion.
You’re an idiot in my opinion lol
7:20 that's about 5% the amount of mud u had on the Walther... And this Sig still failed
Im glad sig is doing upgrades and not just selling crap.
As a former DOC SRT member, I witnessed a test similar to this with even more rigorous demos conducted by a glock distributer. Glock not only passed all tests, the department adopted the the G19 as the new primary issue for the team. After countless hours of rigerous firearms training exercises and feild operations, not one member suffered a malfunction of any kind. Now, every member of my household has been thoroughly trained and own the glock. One of the scariest parts of the test the gentleman performed that day was tossing a loaded and chambered g19 approximately 20 feet in the air only to impact the concrete surface with approximately 50 individuals he practically scared the hell out of is one part that helped drive the purchase home. Just saying
Glocks still fail dude. And whoever conducted that bullshit “test” throwing a loaded firearm in the air with 50 bystanders around should never be allowed near a firearm again.
Funny, the Glock had multiple failures when MAC tested in this same way. Everyone already knows about Glock, it's not like you're giving out new info here, even 4 years ago.
