That Old Overholt Cask Strength 10 Year Rye is a winner! Grabbed a bottle of it for $89.99 from a local store that was trying to get rid of em. He originally had them priced at $120. If you see one again for under $100, it’s a slam dunk buy. Great video as always BH!

Great video! That first ABC store here in NC is great, we've slowly been getting more and more bottles showing up in stores here, and like you said, the prices are all set so you'll never have to worry about secondary

Glad you hunted in Myrtle Beach! I was there at the beginning of the month for my daughter’s dance competition and stopped at 5 of the stores as you. Your reaction to Owens was exactly like mine, “Wow, Wow, Wow!” There’s also a Walmart spirits shop there (only one in the state) but talking to the employees, they don’t have the volume sales to get the allocated stuff.

When you walked into Sea Mountain and Owens I was laughing so hard. UFR!! Just picked up Stagg 22A for under 55 and Old Fitz 10 year for under 140 around downtown. And 2 months ago, 2 other stores around Surfside had their WFP SPs for 70 and 100. Cheers!!

Epic hunt video! EW 1783 is solid for the price & being a lower 90 proof bourbon. Might not be quite as good, haven’t tasted back 2 back, but I’d put it up next to standard Buffalo Trace. At least in the same ballpark of quality

I have had Journeyman and been to the distillery. Its actually worth going to the distillery in Indiana. Its a decent craft whiskey, but they make so many spirits.Great Experience!

I haven't found a bottle of Eagle Rare in about seven years. It was my go to and I miss it so much. It's wild to me that I can find Buffalo Trace easier than Eagle Rare.

Calabash (kal-uh-bash) has been the seafood capital of the Carolina coast forever. I go to Sunset Beach every other summer and make a day of hunting most of these stores. You’ve got a few I’ve never been to and I’m glad to see this video because I’ll be down there in June. There is a store in Myrtle on Kings Highway that has my favorite Irish whiskey (Concannon) which is hard to find. It’s cheap but smooth. Good video.

Last time I was in myrtle beach I bought the store pick Blue Note from Liquor Library. Loved the store and the Blue Note.

I had that exact store pick bottle tonight, and the flavors were insanely good. Have to take into account price, which for that bottle will likely be one of the best deals on a bottle I've had for the quality of product. Fantastic pour.
I picked up one of those Blue Note Juke Joint store picks as well. Pleasantly surprised at how good it was and definitely a great price for a high proof bottle.
Twelve 33 Docs and Double oak are my two favorite bourbons I’ve had the pleasure to try so far!

I'm just happy you were looking through Liter boxes for a slam dunk. Idk how many people are checking 750ml bottles or cask strength for slam dunks. They only come on the liter bottles 1 per pallet.

When the Evan Williams 1783 American Heroes Edition comes out, get one. They usually hit in June. Pretty good stuff. That Stellum Black for $44 was an insane deal.

Ahhh..the Liquor Library in NM..yeah man..really good place...I hunt all whiskey and like the liquor store bro/owner said. hes a scotch drinker as well..they had a bottle of Laphroig Cask. for a decent price which is kind of hard to find...buy for me during my trip down there...great selection of all whiskeys as I believe he stated.

Southern Star has a Bottled in Bond Paragon and the Hunters Glenn Rye which both made it on Fred Minnick’s Top 100 for 2023. I like their Double Rye too. They are out of Statesville NC.
I’ve had Blue label Stellum and it was excellent. Lots of dark chocolate note.

That is an amazing price for the Grey Label Seagrass. I just picked up a Gold Label in middle TN for 399. Most places have it for ~500. Waiting for a special occasion to try it!

i lived in north carolina for 25 years 60 miles from north myrtle beach , i moved to tulsa ok 4 years ago and the prices there are high compared to oklahoma wow! for example every liquor store here in tulsa has blantons at every given time and day and week everywhere for $68 a bottle here there's a liquor store less than a mile from me with those prices it's a warehouse liquor store very nice one at that, another example regular knob creek is $32 where is see everywhere else charge $40 and up prices are high everywhere else...to me anyway

Journeyman Distillery is out of Three Oaks, Michigan and I believe the cask strength Corsetts, Whips, and Whiskey (100% wheat) did pretty well on the Fred Minnick list two years ago. The distillery is in an old garment shop or something where they used to make...you guessed it...Corsetts!

Catoctin Creek is worth every penny. I have had a couple bottles of the Roundstone Rye and a Store pick that was awesome.
Journeyman is top notch. Made in Michigan. I've had the rye and it's fantastic. Pick it up next time.
That Old Overholt 10 is phenomenal. Do not sleep on it.
Im not even a huge Rye guy but that stuff is delicious.

another great thing here in oklahoma is the liquor stores all close at 11pm lol and i' a cigar collector and smoker and you can smoke anywhere here

That was a hell of a Day I was in Tulsa Ok for a gunshow the first week of april and I took a extra day and hit 25 stores it was fun but came didnt come away with the Taters but still managed to pick up 24 bottles ... Thanks

1783 is excellent for the money. It’s a “daily” for me. That and the BiB. I buy the 1.75 and I’m not sad when I finish a bottle of stuff I pay a lot more money for.

The tin cup 10 is proofed down MGP. Good but low proof.
The Redemption in the odd shaped bottle is also MGP. There was a high rye bourbon 10 year that was released a couple years ago that was amazing. The 9yr is a newer release and is the low rye mashbill.

Last Russell's Reserve 10 Year I have seen was in Kentucky "at MSRP" of $64.99 so that is crazy to see the difference in pricing.

Shop #12, I saw that rick tier 6 Four Roses single barrel. Those typically get cleaned out. Highest I've found in my area is rick tier 5.

Rubber corks don't deteriorate and fall apart. Same reason I only will use a rubber cork bottle for an infinity bottle.

3:19 i had the opportunity to get either the larceny b0 or elijah craig bp and i got the larceny before i knew the tastes could be fairly different from batch to batch. I shouldve got the ECBP since i know i typically like EC over larceny
I enjoy both but I do agree they are wildly different

Nice video and some great picks! I went hunting Russell’s 10 last week and in Charleston it’s consistently 51.95 now. A store on Folly rd had it for $40 2 weeks ago. I hate seeing these go allocated. Name a better 10 yr age statement than Russell’s for under $50? I’ve seen Elijah Craig 94 store pics that were 10 yr. but name another one? Do they exist? It’s an end of an era I think!
Oh the Journeyman you want to try is the Corsets and Whips. It’s the only 100% wheat I’ve tried and it takes time to open up, but after drinking it I can pick up the wheat any blind.
