Just purchased these through Bourbon Charity and could only buy in a bundle of 2. These bottles are a 5 and 6 year old toasted bourbon from Greenriver and Bardstown, finished in barrels from Honey Next Door in Decatur, GA. Aged in honey barrels for 9 months. Barrel #1 is 109.3 Proof, Barrel #2 is112.5 Proof. Good to hear great feedback on these. Love the channel.
Red line is really good. Taylor, the master taster and Co owner is also super down to earth and knowledgeable. Highly recommend picking something up from them.
I feel you on Old St. Nick stuff. Did a tasting at Preservation distillery last month that included like 5 of their high proof offerings. I wanted to like them more but they were just okay. But considering the cheapest bottle they had available to buy was $160, it was disappointing.
I tried Bee's Knees in St Petersburg, Florida. It was amazing. I opted for the store pick Peerless Single Barrel that tasted like a Peerless Double Oak, instead. I came home to Georgia and started asking around until I found a bottle, 2 weeks later. Who would have thought that Bee's Knees would release in Florida before it would release in Georgia. There is a difference to product released in Florida, Georgiaand one more state. It has to do with age of Whiskey and where the Honey Barrel came from. The one i got is not the store pick, but I'm sure it's going to be good. It's a little higher proof than the ones I've seen. I'll make a point to go by Pooler, GA, next time I go on a cruise. I've seen where that store was the only Barrel pick for Bee's Knees, no other store got a full Barrel. You asked about the Element finished in Amburana and Honey barrels. Rio was lower proof and I missed out on it. I was not making that mistake again. I got me an Element also. 😂😂
That EHT was nearly triple MSRP. Retail on EHT Smb should be $45 or less. So glad I'm not a tater - I just ignore pretty much all BT products and I'm happier for it. I have tons of the stuff here in the house but I never drink it. My favorite of the basic bottles is actually just BT. It's crushed EHT, ER, Blanton's, and Weller SR in blinds. BT is easy enough to find that I only buy it when I find store picks now. Some of the mid tier and better BT stuff, like EHT Straight Rye, are pretty tasty, but none of them are worth the hassle. If they fall into my lap I buy them but I walk past them for anything over MSRP now. I might pay a couple bucks over SRP for Stagg batches I don't stress about having more Stagg.

So Cal gets some of the largest allocations every year apparently. Right time, right place I suppose. It also probably helps that my father was the regional distribution manager for Allied.
The Hunter & Scott bourbon and rye are solid pours. If you see them again, grab one. If you're driving through Central VA you should stop by their distillery, It's right off 95.
The vertical series of the Pinhook is really cool. They took a bunch of barrels that all got distilled at the same time, and they're releasing batches of it every year. So you could own a bottle of 4, 5, 6 yr, etc. whiskey and get to taste it as it matures. Pretty cool idea.
Wow the old saint nick is cheap down there. I never see them for less than 170-180, and the stores i go to dont mark up a lot. Maybe the distro they have charges them more? At the prices ive seen in your last couple vids id grab one. Ive tried the old man winter (made by the same company) and it was really good.
Whoa, that was a quick slam on IW Harper 😲 I lived in Japan for a decade, they sell a lot of IW Harper over there. I remember when you couldn't find it here in the states easily, then all of the sudden I started seeing it on the shelves. I personally like the 15YR, and just picked up a Cabernet Cask I need to crack open.

We miss out on so many good Bourbons here in Germany, but you find that IW Harper on so many shelves here .. and it’s sitting on the shelves because no one cares about it for that price. Once in a while someone picks it up because of the fancy bottle, but you won’t buy a second one ..

Barrel #35 is fantastic. Just bought a backup bottle for $74.99. I have Gem of Kentucky Barrel #50. It is very good, but not sure it is worth the $190 I paid. Penelope Valencia pleasantly surprised me how good it is. 🥃
Im always surprised when I see stores charge $80+ for EC Toasted. Knob Creek 12 is a great bottle at MSRP. All around a great experience I can’t wait to go back!
Just picked up 4 bottles of Eagle Rare at $39.99 ($40), found them at Walgreens. At any other store in my area they are selling for $69.99 up, thats why I grabbed 4. My area is New Port Richey, FL

Weller 107 is dropped here in Ohio like once a month. Last week a store I was at got 36 bottles and let people go through the line as many times as they wanted till it was gone....

A lot of their Single Barrels are still relatively young but the age is starting to pick up. I’d look again next year and you might start seeing a lot of their products being aged 6+ years.
Im not a big fan of barrel batch 35. Its just so flat and muted compared to the others ive tried. I have 29, 31, 32, 34, 35, dovetail, vantage, a bunch few finished picks. Altogether like 10 barrell craft bottles and i love them all. 35 just doesnt do it for me. Ecbp isnt my jam. Even the c923 laser code a223. I got one for my bro and one for me. Tried his n wont even open mine. Their picks though, much better. I have a 9yr 132 or 134 proof and it blows c923 out the water. I bet that 10yr pick is good.
if you haven't gone back to your emerald giant non cask strength in a while, give it a shot again. After having let mine sit for a few weeks in the cabinet with some oxygen in the bottle I swear this thing is better than pipe dream all of a sudden
