- After chancing upon a charming boutique in a quaint resort city in the Caribbean, an arrogant and self-absorbed couturier uses the designs she sees in the store and claims it as her own. Soon after, terrible misfortunes plague her and she learns first-hand what happens when you steal from the Devil himself.

Roger, Marjorie and Elvira are the best characters. I really love Elvira’s voice and Roger deserves to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for dealing with Elvira so well.

I think I've listened to this awesome episode at least 5 or 6 times, and it never gets old!
That's the sign of a great story. You can listen to it again and again. There are a few other CBSRMT episodes I feel the same way about.
15 or 16 times for me, I’d guess. It’s one of the best. Love Bob Juhren stories.

Rimmel cells of lipstick it looks like a marker. Pink mauve red. And then the other end of it feels it on it stays on until the next day
Well, today's liquid matte lipsticks go quite far.

@@megalorain Tried them. Now using one that labels itself as being waterproof. That doesn't last either. It's just me. Odd though. My mum was the same so it just be genetic.

Elvira certainly did get what she deserved. With her history, makes you wonder how many careers of beginning designers she had destroyed. With Elvira passing those designs off as her own, the others couldn’t use said design. On top of that, Elvira was so vain in looking beautiful, she wanted nobody, even her own daughter, looking better than her.
For the devil in the story, while I wouldn’t make a bargain with him, I wouldn’t mind shopping at his little boutique. That mysterious belt sounded beautiful (I would have loved to see everything in that shop).
I like this story. Elvira got exactly what she deserved. Poetic justice might be a little mild of a term for what happened to her!
Very entertaining story! 👍 I have always wanted to never go on a cruise, but it was fun to be a spectator of this one, and Elvira's behavior toward her daughter made me grateful to have the sort of mother who once said "How I ever managed to have two such girlie girls I will never know." Lol
I LOVE your comment “I have always wanted to never go on a cruise.” I haven’t ever been that into going on one, either. But I have gone on a cruise with my co-workers when I used to be a hairstylist. It was a L’oreal Color Cruise. I’m not in a hurry to ever go on another one. I love this episode.

One of my favourite episodes and this has to be the 4th time I’ve listened to it. Won’t be the last either.
The cruise is in the Mediterranean, not the Caribbean.

This is one of my favorites, even as a young teenager when I first heard this story, it scared the bejesus outa me real bad but it also made me feel as if I couldn’t wait for the next episode of the CBSRMT. Way cool and thanks.

Whoever voices the captain in this episode sounds JUST LIKE George Sanders, the man who plays Miles Fairley/Uncle Neddy in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir! He's got the same voice, a British accent that sounds posh and sophisticated with a way of drawing out his words that makes him sound both slimy and conniving! I love it! The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is one of my FAVORITE movies! 🥰
I believe George Sanders died one or two years before CBSRMT began, sadly.

The story of Snow White comes 2 mind when I got familiarized with the character Elvira Graham. Like SW's evil queen, she just can't stand being outclassed but Elvira got the "poison apple" in this story, so 2 speak. It does my heart good 2 c the villain get what they deserve.
The ending pretty much sums up the fashion industry.

Kathy I've been asked that question before and I'll give the same answer as I have before.
"The Vampire Plant" Episode 1061...........Mostly because when I was a kid my Grandmother died around the same time that episode aired and we got one of the plants from the funeral (I believe some kind of Lily).
I started to associate that plant with "The Vampire Plant".
At night I was scared to walk by it, even just crossing the hall at night to go to the bathroom I could smell the strong fragrance of that flower.
Because of the memories of being tormented for weeks of my childhood by that plant I'll have to pick that episode.

I Love "Indian Giver," it's very funny, yet I like them a bit scary too. "The Threshold" with Fred Gwynne has some scary bits and for me, is unforgettable.
