With the lights off the blanket on me for me the pillows And the stories It was like I was a kid again especially especially hearing the commercials too. Thank you very much much appreciated appreciated much needed
Outstanding Radio show thank you and gives a tired old man sitting in his recliner a smile and hope for tired world
Absolutely love cbsrmt loved radio plays as a child! Let your mind paint the pictures
Peter in cork Ireland 👍
I love hearing the Budweiser commercials. We used to song those songs on the school bus.god I miss the 70's
The perfect way to keep the kids quiet on a long car journey.
"What no music? How come they have stories on the radio?" They say.
"Shhhh, just enjoy the story." I reply
Lol...🚘🙂👍
I was 13 years old when this was aired. These radio shows used to scare me to death as a kid. The commercials bring back a flood of memories😒
I was in the 6th grade when I first heard this.
Yes in the dark I scare myself to death
The only thing that scares me now with these are the news reports which now I can actually understand 😂
WOW! When this aired in the 1970's, I was a mere lass...in 1976, I graduated high school!
an excellent script that maintains the mystery even tho the story is predictable - this is a story that relies on characterization - and actors who can pull it off
I'm glad the news segment was left on the end, it really put me back to that year and how the theme was red white and blue for a young teenage farm boy and politics was just news clips. We had new quarters and a new 2 dollar bill, both were for the bicentennial. That 4th of July was what a lot of people were looking forward to, a big celebration with parades and fireworks. And pocket calculators were soon to be real popular. My first was a TI-55 that used a 9 volt battery and came with a case, wow! LOL. And in a few years VHS replaced beta. This was so much better than the cassette tape recorders we grew up with. And now look at the tech we have, but still troubles like in the past.
Thank You So Much for bring the wounderful old raido shows back!!!
I wish I had heard this in 1975 when it was first put out. I might have realized things were not as they seemed and that I needed to think some things through first.
Chilly Sunshine just came up on my feed... I'm thankful. Was reading about this yesterday in the comments on another very similar Radio Mystery Theatre subscription. Needless to say, I subscribed here too, thank you!
love old radio......Richard Crenna was very active and known back then before he starred in movies. Great actor.
Also Luke on the Real McCoys
I love how God is brought up in a lot of these old radio shows.
Not just the old ones. American's get all christy over anything if they think they should. 😄😄

People don’t get a second chance like this. The devil likes people to believe there are many ways to get to heaven many gods mini paths. There’s only one God one creator one way to heaven and one way to stay out of hell forever after death and that is the Jesus alone.
@@markbillingsley3413 you need to get your meds mate. It appears that you have run out. 😄
Strange times we live in. If back then they read the story of the first 20 years of the 21st century they’d be in true horror. Cost of living alone would kill em...
This show features Virginia Gregg (airline stewardess) who was on many, many TV episodes of Dragnet & Casey Kasem (American Top 40 radio show and voice of Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
Virginia Gregg also did a lot of radio drams in 40’s & 50’s. A truly great actress
Loving these old commercials... bringing back great memories. You never truly miss the past, until you hear a commercial from the past. IF, I ONLY CAN TURN BACK THE HANDS OF ⏱⌛⏳
Not me, I'd love to go back when everyone was still alive not because I heard a commercial from the 1970s that I've already heard. 🤷
I love listening to the old commercials. They really take you back in time. Thanks for including them.
You're welcome.
I love them, they’re completely different to what I grew up with in the uk in the 90’s/00’s. They are amazing to experience!
me too!
When you say bud,you said it all
I especially like the IRA commercial. Imagine how wealthy someone investing the full amount back then would be today!
Sure enjoyed listening to this program again ! So many wonderful episodes of the CBSRMT back in the late 70s 😊
These shows are so good! The news brief at the end was very interesting.
I was teen in the 70s and loved CBSRMT on AM Radio. Prefer this over today's nonsense on TV. 😆
This is another one I heard about a year ago and it's a great story and very enjoyable!! Richard Crenna too is/was a great actor, for those who can't place him he's Rambos' boss in funnily enough the film Rambo!!! He's his captain anyway great story!! As a footnote Casey Kasem who did voices in Scooby Doo was a very talented voice actor and this was broadcast the day my sister was born!!! Also that Shop Right advert is one my favourites with such a good jingle!! Within ten months America will be 200yrs old!!
This was great. It goes hand in hand with OTR. The commercials are icing on the cake.
Takes me back. My cousins and I laying on my grandma's bed, propped on the floor and listening to the Shadow knows . Life was so easy back then. I feel so sorry for the youth of today.
I dont know how id be so entertained without chillysunshines epic youtube channel.thanks for sharing
I love that this one has full commercials and even the latest (1975) news! Really puts me in the moment.
William Turner to
You're an idiot...
Thirdgen83 ; Baby
Did you notice that spa commercial where it cost $4:33 a week? In 1975 when you might only be learning about $2 an hour then about $21 a month was a lot of money. I could fill up your whole car with gas twice. 😁
The ice cream ad would run me away from that brand, if they can't find a guy that can sound a bit happier about ice cream. LOL
Somebody give Shaggy a drag, he's too uptight
Casey Kasem playing Danny. It's hard for voices like his or Fred Gwynne's or even Mason Adams (he is the voice in the Buick commercial) to hide their unique voices.
Mason Adams was the boss in the drama Lou Grant, Ed Asner's boss on the show. He also used to voice the Smucker's jelly/jams commercials..."With a name like Smucker's, it HAS to be good..."
This one was kept be on the edge, i think one of my favorites so far, reminded of that episode from tales from the dark-side where the young girls on the train and is confused and everyone freaks out of the tunnels and they manifest things, and reminds me of the famous twilight zone with William shatner. this is a great show to listen too when reading on a cold night with heavy snow.
Always love that news. Hats off again Chilly!
Thanks Richard!
These stories are enjoyed very much by us we are approaching 85yrs.
Jean Scandrett ; And 65
the icecream comercial i just epic
I see episode # 1000 was uploaded today. I'm headed that way!!!
John Karavitis excellent
This is brilliant
I love these radio shows.
There my adult, good night story's
I like the extras: commercials, news from 1976!
Thanks Chilly Sunshine! 👍👍
31:13 Casey Kasem, a self-identified hardened criminal who has just shived a prison guard, is inexplicably shy about using a bad word. 🤔
I knew that was Casey Kasem.
Did you actually record all of these back in the day chilly? I wish they still did this today. It would be so cool if we could see how everybody designs a different looking cast and backdrop in the theatre of their minds. These old radio shows exercised the mind. Thank you so much for posting these for us to enjoy! God Bless
Wow 14% owr

Of course everyone deserves a second chanceYes! ✈️
I remember that Budweiser commercial 👍🏼
thanks for posting
You can smoke in the afterlife??? Awesome!!!!!
Thanks for sharing great play x
My favorites are the ones with CBS news as well.
Danny is just some, like, guy who's hipness...that machismo is, like wow, man, waaay beyond my ability to even to begin to comprehend, daddy-o. Like, way deep. 😎
LOL! His beatnick hoodlum shtick was old for 1976!
Very entertaining.
@@crochetedlace2838 yes it was more of the mid sixties era.
Great story.
The things we did before the internet....
The world was a much better place then.
When I saw this title my first thought was of the real story of Flight 401 ... "An aircraft crashes in the Florida Everglades, killing 103 passengers. After the wreckage is removed, salvageable parts from the plane are used to repair other aircraft. Soon passengers and crew on those aircraft report seeing what they believe to be the ghost of the wrecked airplane's flight engineer." From IMDB. :)
I've heard stories that more than just the one ghost was seen aboard those other planes. Eventually the "cannibalized" parts were removed from those other aircraft and after that, all sightings ceased.
There was too much trauma attached to the airplane parts.
Casey Kasem: America's top 40, Shaggy (Scooby Doo)....
Cool. Cool. Cool. Thanks for uploading.
American Airlines use older stewdess on international flights it was some sort of perk.
41:42 "An actor-friend, who was playing a part in Uranus ..."
That was a good one!
Sam Edwards is the actor. At 41, he was a "young hoodlum " in "The Beatniks."
The adverts are quite funny.
"0h Mister Moss" "Its alright Jenny, just keep your mouth open and swallow". What am I listening to?
I KNOW RIGHT 🤣 I was like whaaat?
All commercials in those days had groovy songs,
The Bud jingle was HUGE. All through the 70's. Look up Gladys Knight Budweiser jingle.
I hear Richard Crenna, Sam Edwards, Casey Kasem and Virginia Gregg.
Good old Virgina Gregg. She was a favorite of Jack Webb. He had her appear on Dragnet 1967 -1970 every other episode, it seemed. A LOT of 'em, anyhow. She is on my favorite CBSRMT episode, The Doll. It revolves around a voodoo doll & the only episode I remember from the original radio broadcasts. I was young & it really scared me at the time. Oh, I hear her now, in this episode as I write. She's playing the flight attendant....an apparently 75 year old flight attendant/stewardess, lol.
@@craigfazekas3923 CBSRMT is what got me into radio shows back in the 70's. It was heard late night in Boston on WEEI first time I heard it I was hooked and it started a lifelong love of old radio shows. Webb did some the best. Dragnet of course but I really loved him in Pat Novak for Hire. Pete Kelleys Blues was great. Jeff Reagan was good as was Johnny Medero Pier 23. But Novak beats em all for hard boiled dialogue and world weary cynicism. " The place was deader than a Philadelphia Nightclub" . " She looked badly used. Like a Dictionary in a stupid family"

Hey, thanks for writing !! I grew up in suburban Philly, across the Delaware River in South Jersey. We caught CBSRMT on WCAU-AM radio back then. I was young then, (b. 1968) and had an affinity toward radio via my parents. Sundays With Sinatra with Sid Mark EVERY SUNDAY MORNING... But that CBSRMT episode, The Doll (episode #159) is what did it to me. In the dark, on my parents bed via their old clock/radio...The Doll scared me but bad !! That little nugget spurned a lifetime of enjoyment. Heck, my lovely wife & I still listen to these in the dark & truly enjoy them. We probably do 10-15 of these shows, roughly, a month.
BTW, we caught an amazing episode recently, # 367, entitled, The Summer People. Do yourself A BIG FAVOR & CHECK THAT ONE OUT !! You'll thank us later, chief....
Another favorite of ours, side stepping CBSRMT, is from Lux Radio Theater. It's Alfred Hitchcock's 'Notorious' & features Ingrid Bergman & Joseph Cotton. Very, very well done adaption of the classic movie. And besides, it was brought to you by those fine folks who treated your women's fine undergarments for all those years, dare I say the finest in the market, luxurious Lux Soap Flakes, for those that know how to treat their fineries....😎
Seriously, though- you enjoy those- especially The Summer People. My wife & I were so taken with it, it prompted a 15 minute conversation afterward !! Later, buddy....😎
@@craigfazekas3923 Just got through listening to that. Excellent. quite creepy
Good story!
If this drama appeals to you I recommend you look for “ The Great Divorce “ by C S Lewis. You can check on Wikipedia and by reading the synopsis you will see the theme mirrored. In addition, a funny poignant film, “Defending Your Life” with Meryl Streep. And Albert Brooks. Beautiful film.
Religion is not my thing at all, however if it’s your you will love both the book and the movie.
Very good makes you think.
My choice of plane would be a Boeing 777- if they existed at the time of the story!
Connie Crawford ; They didn't
@@DeadtotheBone kill joy
You know , I hate being kept in the dark for soooo long. Good pay off I s'pose .
i łove the old commercials!
Reminds me of movie from the 70's I think, where all these people wake in a fancy hotel on an island...they don't know how they got there and want to leave but every time they are told a rescue plane will come and they prepare to leave the plane is never there or it supposedly landed but left b4 they could get to it. I think it was a made for tv movie, I remember Lloyd Bridges was in it...it was actually pretty good... anyone remember it?
Never heard of it but your description and a quick look at Lloyd Bridges' work tells me it must be a 1972 movie called "Haunts of the Very Rich".

@@ChillySunshine thanks a lot for posting that link! this TVTERRORLAND-channel has so many great old tv movies which are really hard to find. many of them i never even heard of. all of them seem to be horror or mystery movies. a real goldmine for a genre fan like myself.
greetings from germany :)
47:11 Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis must have been fans of this show...
It sounds good
This program is a carbon copy of the Aaron spelling TV movie haunts of the rich starting Ed asner and Donna Mills.
Commercials too!? Cool.
Anybody listen to the univercity of florida brodcast in the 70s.
Good story.
Some may not
but I believe in our Lord
Even in the 70s they were still clinging to the old concepts of god.
this show went to about 1975?
CBSRMT ran from 1974-1982.....This episode aired originally on Sept. 12th 1975
ChillySunshine Thanks for uploading Chilly Sunshine.
ChillySunshine Sept 12, 1975, when this episode aired. My first day back in the USA after 13 months in Okinawa with the Marine Corps. Loved CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

Too bad these guys didn't know that Brahman is the one true God
The only true second chance that comes in life is through Jesus/God. When God became a man in Jesus shed his blood for our sins died. And on the third day he rose again. And those who put their faith and trust in who and what Jesus is and what he did. Will be granted eternal life in heaven. And those who reject who and what Jesus is well sadly wind up in hell. And the Lake of fire for all eternity after physical death
the problem with this episode was having casey doing the two very different characters!
great
LOLOLOL @14:30
Last time i listend to one that had "THEY" in it, turned out "THEY" were aliens but "WE" were TOO! And earth was blown up be4 "WE" got there! Holey cow it was a good one!
I only wish there was a HELL
This really makes you think how many people dies just in the United States each day.?
But how many babies are born each day in the United States.
Think about that while you're listening to this particular story.
People that are guilty of being murderers
gang members
but then just innocent people that are very sick.
Some are just terribly tragic but some of them that are very guilty.
How does God judge them, think of that when you listen to the story.
I hope you enjoy it but I hope it makes you think
( as it made me think ! )
And how many babies are aborted every year...
43:30 wow that certainly would not be allowed today. The modern world is terrible and crazy.
Enjoyed this 8/20/23 while doing a mileage walk. Predictable somewhat, but the characters make the episode. One guy is particularly selfish and a loose canon. Listen to find out the rest of the story. Cast includes Casey Kasem and Richard Crenna!
“The stewardess is an old hag! What kind of airline is this?”
United?
Old bag, not hag.
Nah... has to be American Airlines. Lmao!!
Yeah... United.

Formed in 2014 in Phoenix, AZ, ShowMeGod is more than just five people on stage with instruments, it is a Monster Show of sadistic proportions. Like a poisoned stew of Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie, ShowMeGod features elaborate stage props, pulsing audio and video effects, Hollywood-quality masks and costumes, depraved dancers, delirious devils, buckets of blood, and HORROR! With brain-bashing songs like “Nazis Vs. Strippers” (now an eye-popping music video directed by Grammy-nominee Larry Elyea), “Get Your Creep On,” and “Pom-Pom Girls of Horror High,” ShowMeGod's high-octane Halloween party is a 24-hour rave to the grave, 365 days a year. Every concert is a costume party, and YOU can join the slithering crowd of monsters in makeup as the band tours in support of their first LP, titled “Songs of Heartache, Rebellion, and the Loss of God,” dropping in 2017. It's a Creep Show. It's a Demon Dance. It's THE GREATEST INDUSTRIAL HEAVY METAL HORROR SHOW in the world.

There are second chances but not like this. The only true second chance in life is when we give our life to Jesus/God the true God the only way to heaven only way to stay out of hell and the lake of fire. Through Jesus we are born again spiritually and have a second chance at life in heaven.
Get rid of the damn commercials!
I like the way they didn't treat their audience back then like low iq morons as is, so often, the case nowadays. Nowadays its all shouting and whooping.
Only advertisement wheres the ghost plane episode? Its not here
I hate commercials
THESE RECORDED ADS ARE CRAZY, NEED TO BE EDIT OUT.
They are the best part
You must be young you will understand when you get older
They’re way before my time and I absolutely love them. It’s like history.
I love them. It was a happier time.
